Waste of time

If you don't have time to do it, why do it at all? Do you get satisfaction from B-Specing it?
Don't have 24 hours to spare? Don't do that race. Wouldn't you rather do a different race that's shorter and more fun?

You do get a lot of money and the Audi R8 or Bentley Speed 8. So even if you didnt work for them, its satisfying to have such high level cars in the garage. :D

I still need to do Le Sarthe 24h II myself, actually. Well, B-Spec needs to. :D

I understand if you just want 100%, but even then you could always split it up into sections. PS2s and PS3s can go forever without breaking.

Because I need to get a Formula Gran Turismo to race in the relevant series and I don't have the time to do 24 hours at Nurburgring? Because the money is nice? But most of all, as has been said before, I have a life. And it is a life that doesn't allow me the luxury of spending hours on end doing endurance races.

A lot of people use the sneaky trick of pressing pause during those races. 💡

If you don't have more than one hour per day that makes 24 days to complete a 24 hour endurance race. Twenty four days of exactly the same thing every day (gee, welcome to life). No thank you.

I said 'hours on end' - not 24 hours on end.

I was responding to jakesmith...

I probably was too :) But I sort of tried to wrap the two comments together as a sort of sub-thread but was not as clear as I could be - quotes don't automatically nest apparently. I've edited it to nest the quotes. Apologies for any perceived attitude.

Yes. Who would want a TVR Speed 12, eh?

Yes. Who would want a TVR Speed 12, eh?

i have a list:

-someone who likes uber-powered cars that couldn't care less about the overall performance of their car..,
-someone who just likes to try something else/something new..,
-someone who just gets a little bored with all his other cars in GT4

hmm, that's about it, i guess..,

:odd::odd::odd::odd: Whatever crack your smoking drifting24/7, I want some!!

I care heaps about the performance in my cars, and the Speed12 is one of the ones I love using for Like The Wind and other high speed races. It's good there stock, and after some adjustment on the suspension it can take it right to the GTWC cars on Le Sarthe and other tracks....oil change and you've got 840hp/1000kg. I'm not saying it's a world beater, but it's very much overlooked as a race car, and it's fun to learn to feather the throttle with that car, improves you as a driver.

I can imagine this same argument is going to happen with GT5 if we're told that there's a Veyron in there.

Mission 34 literally is a waste of time. I'll show you how:

Step One: 2 minutes before actually getting to move at all.
Step Two: 7-10 minutes (unsure) to do a lap.
Step Three: 1-3 minutes to go mad and punch a hole in the wall
Step Four: 2 hours Preparing Concrete mixture to fill up that hole you made
Step Five: 2 Seconds (at most, hopefully) to retry the game.
Step Six: Repeat Step One.

That's the Vicious Cycle for You..

Driving the TVR Speed 12 fast is an artform.

Learn the easy stuff, sure. When you're ready, oh Padwan learner, then you can see how to manipulate 'the force'. Only after many hours learning to feel it, will you become a Jedi warrior.

:D

Oh, and mission 34 is a doddle. The trick is not to do it. Get the car, and practice in arcade mode. Turn after turn, lap after lap, hour after hour.

*yoda* Mmmmmmm, strong in this one....the force is mmmMMM. Yes yes, veeeeeery strong.

Mission 34 took about 15 attempts for me. The problem with it is going TOO hard with things. It's a fine line between taking it too easy and not catching the lead car and going all out and losing it with that damn Merc as any of us who've done it know. :ouch:

I found MIssion 23 - the Skyline Slipstream Battle - to be a bit like that because your success depends upon the AI. Sometimes they'll run with you and you stand a chance of catching the leader, but more often than not they'll fight among themselves an slow right down. The race is over instant they do that because you can never catch the leader.

I deliberately saved the TVR manufacturer race until last, so I got the Speed 12 last (well, that and so I had a short race to hit 100.0% and save).

Then I got the Speed 12, turned all the aids off and threw it at Trial Mountain. 1'35 clean, first lap out, S2 tyres.

I love that car.

i'm getting tempted to drive a Speed 12, all thanks to you guys, Famine, Venari and Mafs..,

MUST.....RESIST.......TEMPTA...TION............MUST...TUNE......SPOON CIVIC........URRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

let me guess you only drive super fast cars and want to have millions? Next time give proper reasons please

Most of the fun is driving slower cars. For me nothing beats after a stressful day at work or tech nothing beats driving my completely stock british racing green Lotus Elan around the Nurburgring

(on topic) a complete waste of time is the time spent waiting to go on the Challenges, i havent attempted Mission 34 due to the long wait. Its completely pointless, 2 minutes in a game spent waiting around is absurd

Y'know, I am pretty sure that others have voiced this exact sentiment, and I must whole-heartedly agree with them. Why (like previous missions, such as 3-lap Battles, Slipstream, etc.) couldn't the AI simply start the cars a predetermined distance ahead of your own, and let you catch up from there? The two minute wait on DM34, as well as other significant delays in other missions, is simply cruel and unnecessary...:grumpy:
