I'm using a regular DF, not a pro, but it really helps with the throttle control in my opinion.

Sorry Kenny, just ran a 11.237. ( and it still wasn't perfect, my foot was being twitchy from trying to keep it at a perfect level for so long.)

just popped an 11.345

Oh boy... I have my work cut out for me. :)

As for throttle control... I'm able to control the throttle pretty well using the DS2 but an actual pedal may give you more feel, feedback ya know.

I don't think the pedals have feedback, at least not on the DF.(non-pro)

When I was typing that, I thought the same thing. But people have described it as 'feeling' more feedback in the device, at least from the steering side of things. I should have been more clear.

I find that I get good throttle response from my Speedster Pure pedals if i activate the analogue control on them.???

I had a couple hundred more tries at it and bumped my fastest time up to 11.181. I have the replay and settings, but you guys would be surprised at how simple they are.

c'mon 10's, do you guys have traction probs? i take off in 2nd so i get lag but then i don't have to modulate the acceleration

Yes, traction is hard to get in 11 sec runs. You just have to find the exact points where you can give it certain amounts of throttle, which required at least a hundred runs from me.

Today is the last day to submit a time. It's nearly 8am ET, the comp ends at 12 (4 hours) and I will still count any time submitted before I get home from work and log on.

Get your last runs in! :)

I would submit a new time but I haven't gotten any faster, well not fast enough to move me up a place.

Competition Closed

Congratulations Perfect Balance, on a job well done maintaining traction, i.e. perfect balance of the throttle. Please post your settings in this thread.. or else the win is given to me :sly:

By the way - it is a good idea for all of us to congratulate each other on wins and such... you know.. good sportmanship.

I'll post the parts I had first, since that made quite a difference.

Find the right launching point, which is right above halfway on the throttle meter, then after the car has finished launching, you can up that to around 75%. After shifting to second, let the car engage into second fully, then full throttle can be applied, and maybe a couple very fast clicks of nitrous. In 3rd Gear, full throttle can be applied but wait until the car has begun to accelerate again before pressing the nitrous to keep wheel spin from happening. From that point on just hold the nitrous and shift normally, you should pass the line almost at redline in 4th gear.

Thanks Kenny, and indeed it was the Perfect balance, although it did take a while to get it right.

Classic american cars?

Im gonna break out the 10 second, low buck 98 SS if I can. If not, lets see if my Cougar is up for some low 10s again.

Sorry guys that I came so late, I want to do this!!! lol

edit:
Crap, nvm, It ended already.... Oh well, Im up for the next race.

Too late for this one, and I doubt you'll get low 10's out of sports tires. Join the second week though, theres still time!

Hmm, Im sure it was the cougar with sport tires, its been awhile. Took alotta balast though. Im on the Mazda one now.

Congrats at winning
