Thanks for the heads up!

I don't have to worry though, since all of the files on my site are mirrored on my HD. :)

Should they be allowed to do this? I mean, a little Islamic law would go a long way in detouring these people from damaging other peoples property and privacy. How do you guys feel about it?

I think it would be all right if the hackers ended up issueing reports to the owners of the websites they cracked and told them where their weaknesses in their sites are....

That would be the only way that some good could come of it.

So, all my sites missed out/were immune. Anyone get hit?

I've monitored a lot of random and repeated hits from the .de region in the last couple of days. I'm just grateful my firewall is doing what it's supposed to do.

Well, what kind of a hacker would enter such a contest, do you think?

A "Black Hat" hacker. Basically one who means to be malicious in every possible way

Not all hackers are bad. A lot of professional people make a living by "hacking" company websites, and letting the company know what vulnerabilities can be exploited, and how to fix them. It's a shame these people are wasting their talent on such a sh**** contest
