TheWizard wins in D2.

Very nice racing from all of you this week.

Best of luck to all of you next week.

w0000! I held him off!!! Gotcha Circa86! Lol. That was CLOSE though! I almost submitted my 3'04.167 time! Then I ran a kinda fast 3.735 that was dirty and decided it would be easy enough to duplicate, so I did...

Good job everyone else who dealt with the annoying AI this week! Seems like there weren't very many, but yeah.

Kent, you have both of my times up there, the one from where I was going to be originally done with this week's race, but then had someone conjure up some competition for me, so I bettered it... Thanks! :)

Thought I might add... My setup for that race was RSS tires all around(I tried just RS tires on the back but it gave slower laps) with the AI on -10 and on RSH tires. I originally couldn't get around them, but I found the "knack" for it and it wasn't that hard after I got the hang of it.

My T2 splits were 1'09.94x and 1'02.470 FWIW.

Congratulations to all for their efforts especially for those who managed to break the 3'02.000 limit. I knew it was possible and someone would have done it, but I would have never thought that barrier would have fallen by so much as to get below 3'01.500 👍

As for me, this is my first win and I am quite happy :D

If fasj6418's time becomes official, I assume I will get second place, but that's good also :D

I will post my Replay later tonight or early tomorrow.

Later.

The Wizard.

Well Dangit, again I just miss the podium....one day.....Awesome racing, even if I had more time I don't think I could trim another .9 to get to the podium. Nice work guys!

jump_ace

EDIT: Wait a sec, I should be in 5th place to Androos, not 4th place. Little error there Kent, no biggie, props to Androos!

Bah... i didnt like, i didnt race, i started (and nearly finished) MGS3 again instead.

I raced once, did the time, then waited all week to submit the rubbish.

I'll have a go round tha valley though.

Thanx to Kent for putting up with 2 PM's from me this week though and for sorting out the combo, and the results.

Yes, you assume right wizard... If fasj6418 can provide replay verification his lap will be considered official and the D2 winner.

Too bad he can't but atleast he is honest with all of us. 👍
That means more to me than seeing a fast time.

Also, just on a side note...
Please, to the select few who did this...
Don't make request of me in the same PM where you tell me what a bad race this was. :grumpy: :irked:

Also, I thank the rest of you who were willing to give this race a chance.

Finally, good luck next week everyone!

Well, I have to say that I kinda regret winning like this... It doesn't feel like a real victory, knowing that somebody else in my Division had a time that was almost half a second faster than mine and that the only reason he can not take the win is that he can not prove it.

I hope fasj6418 will manage to find a MaxDrive and provide his Replay to take the win he deserves 👍

Else it would be quite a pity to waste a time (and all the effort that it took to obtain it) like that.

I hope the best for you, mate.

The Wizard.

It's times like this when I'm not happy to be the mod who must explain the situation.

It really does hurt to see a racer get the short end of the stick.

However, I wrote "fasj" a PM explaining the situation.
I do hope a replay device is bought soon so "fasj" can take the win he/she earned.

However, like I said earlier...
Honesty is more important to me than anything else.

On a note similar to that...
I just hope fasj really is legit, wouldn't it suck for all of us to show sympathy and support for "the other kind of racer"?

I have faith that fasj is legit and by the end of the year I am sure he/she will prove it to us. 👍

Until then,

Congrats to all of the winners and podiums!!

I hope more people start submitting, it seems as if the number has really dropped off this week its down to 40.

I ran a time which could have put me in a very decent finishing posistion, but on the replay I noticed that the Lancia had turned into me when I was making a pass even though I had the line. After that I tried and tried, but the same car kept doing the same thing :nervous:

I for one really enjoyed this race. Sure the AI took some working to get a smooth flow through, and sure, I didn't finish in the to half of D2 like I usually/like to, but heck, it's all for fun.

Good job, Kent!

Congrats to podium finishers.. :)

Only ran 1h this week, that explain a bit my result.
Anyway, here's my replay.

Good run everyone ... shame it's the worst turnout that I've seen in the last three months, but the podium winners turned in times that makes my head spin ... truly awesome and very impressive. Kudos to all of you.

KLR, I PMed you my congrats (but it bounced), so just let me say publicly that you ran a GREAT race. After a slow start and even some disgruntled thoughts, you really found your groove and pulled it out of the bag. Sorry the promotion was not forthcoming this week, but maybe you'll impress CFM enough next week ;)

EDIT: I must be going crazy in my old age ... I though replay verification was required from all D1ers ... was this dropped or was it never implemented? If the latter, the mad cows disease must have got me already! :P

Nice job everyone!Congrats to all the winners AND all the participants!

Low turnout shows that our fellow racers only want to send in really competitive times (though the fact its vacation season might contribute to it as well...) On one side its good to see a competitive spirit, but its more fun and rewarding to have more competition around!

GT_Fan2005: up to 1/1000 the same time..!deserves special mentioning!

Androos: is that time already with the DFP ? If so, you are scary dude!!!

And thanks to Kent for an intersting challenge and his work!

STINGER05
Androos: is that time already with the DFP ? If so, you are scary dude!!!

That particular time was with my old DS2. But, by Sunday, I was able to lap within about 0.2 seconds of that time with the DFP. I love that thing. I got used to it pretty quickly, but I spent a lot of time with different cars and different tracks to try and get the feel back. 👍

For all of you worried about the turn-out...

Not that I don't want a high turn-out... However, I would rather have this sort of turn-out than the other kind.

Why you ask?
Do I not want the series to be successful?

Well, I do indeed want the WRS to continue the success it has carried for the last 2 years.
However, I would rather race with a tight group of real racers than a large group of "gt4 just came out and that's why I'm here" racers.

Fact is, many of the older members are still waiting around for the crowd to thin out enough that only the serious racers are left.

The boom we got in racers turned the wrs into some kind of monster... The calm after that boom is where we will find the people who are really worthy of racing with.

And so I say, if you dropped out a few weeks after GT4 was released- good ridance.

The series is better off without the wanna-bes.

Sure they make great cannon-fodder, but who really wants to run in this series against a bunch of un-known racers that just showed up for the initial hype of GT4?

I would rather be with the die-hards any day of the week! 👍
(even if it means I can't keep up. ;) )

I was upset this morning when I woke up and realized I forgot to submit my time. Although, I didn't do as well as I thought. I would have finished right behind Casio again. Good week everyone, I'll get you next week.

well , just read the facts and oh, i´m very happy with the results...

 :dopey: 👍 finish 4th overall, 1st in division...

BUT,

as my signature says... no max drive 👎

well, first i live in a small town here in Brazil, so i can´t just go on any store and pick up my max drive... in fact i never saw one...

then last week i saw what happen with casio... and that he also couldn´t prove it...

by friday i notice that my splits were very good, and that if kept improving i would win...

i plan on buying a max drive soon... maybe in august if i can get it... i already talk to CFM about that...

not having replays already gave me headaches, when i played GT2 and couldn´t prove the legitimity of my times...

i was already thinking what i was going to say in this forum, but Kent anticipate and made the right move... the win might sound weird for the wizard, and well, what can i say? for me, the inner satisfaction is very high :dopey: :dopey: :dopey: but i will have to wait a little to make it official...

I love WRS and i will continue to race here, but for the next month or so, i think my times will have to come with a * before...

well that only happen now because three weeks ago i changed to manual and now i´m acostumed to it... in GT1 and GT2 MT or AT were almost the same, but now i see the diference that the manual transmission makes on times...

congratulations to everyone, believe me that i´m very happy with the results, and let´s keep racing... but racing clean comes first, so i understand the situation...

:dopey:  👍 (1) unofficial win!

Nice rhetoric, although I'm not sure who it's aimed at, because I don't see anyone "worried about the turnout".

Shame you typed all of that and yet again missed the relevant posts that, perhaps, should be attracting your attention rather than defending yourself against non-existant attacks.

Allow me to point you in the right direction:

Appreciate your school of thought Kent! Think we get slowly the picture of the guys/girls who are in it for the long run or just swim along with the hype..

I guess I will be still around, as after 5 month playing it I still enjoy it and as I just bought the DFP I might actually start to discover the real beauty of the game....
Having said that, I was 6 seconds off my time of this weeks (Motegi) race....holy Guacamole!

Results corrected.

btw, I just wanted to mention that I found this post to be very offensive...
But thanks for letting me know what I should be concerned with. :irked:

Seems heart felt responses are not as important as corrections that get made anyway.

Shame you seem to have missed the relevant point of my reply... Then again, maybe you felt insulted since you showed up only after GT4?

Remember, that was a "good ridance" post to the people who left... If you stick around, you're not "one of them."

Plain and simple.

Congrats to all the podium finishers in all the divisions. 👍

Thanks to all the Div 2 racers as you showed this newbie a thing or two. A pity that Fasj couldn't send in a replay. (Would have liked to have seen where I was going wrong). :guilty:

The Wizard is surely a wizard with times like that, Well done dude! 👍

I would like to add that, as a new member, a big up to Kent and CFM in the way they handle the WRS. :).

Lastly, I would like to say that I am not here for the GT4 hype, but rather as a serious racer looking for a new dimension to a very classy sim. :nervous:

Cheers!
:) :) :)

Damn good week all. Thought I might have a chance at beating out veil for the last podium spot, but once again you guys put me in my place. There's always next week though! I'll post my replay later when I get home from work.

Congrats to all the podiums! Very nice close races in all divisions for top spots, and even farther down. A special thanks to Puck927 for motivating me to try for the next level in the race this week! Didn't quite get there, but I appreciated the encouragement! :)
You had a convincing drive for 4th, and VERY close to podium for you sir! Well done! 👍

I'll post a replay later tonite.

Well done everybody :)

For the number crunchers:

39 entries gives an average race time of 3'05.46

I'm happy with my position, I just couldn't get throught the 3'04 barrier but 7th will do me fine 👍

Here's my replay

Good runs, everyone. Just couldn't come to grips (ha. ha) with FF this week. Will post my replay a little later..

Hopefully an NSX will be more to my liking.
