For all of you worried about the turn-out...

Not that I don't want a high turn-out... However, I would rather have this sort of turn-out than the other kind.

Why you ask?
Do I not want the series to be successful?

Well, I do indeed want the WRS to continue the success it has carried for the last 2 years.
However, I would rather race with a tight group of real racers than a large group of "gt4 just came out and that's why I'm here" racers.

Fact is, many of the older members are still waiting around for the crowd to thin out enough that only the serious racers are left.

The boom we got in racers turned the wrs into some kind of monster... The calm after that boom is where we will find the people who are really worthy of racing with.

And so I say, if you dropped out a few weeks after GT4 was released- good ridance.

The series is better off without the wanna-bes.

Sure they make great cannon-fodder, but who really wants to run in this series against a bunch of un-known racers that just showed up for the initial hype of GT4?

I would rather be with the die-hards any day of the week! 👍
(even if it means I can't keep up. ;) )

Amen, brother!

I hope I can stick around long enough and post enough quality results to be considered one of the racers worth racing with. I know I joined after GT4 came out, but if I had known about the WRS before (and had a PS2 to play GT3 on) I would have joined up then. This WRS thing is a LOT of fun!

Well done everybody :)

For the number crunchers:

39 entries gives an average race time of 3'05.46

Well, there it is in 'black and white', it's official-

I'm ever-so-slightly beter than average!

(looks in the corner for the sharpening stone for his 'Katana')

Then i realised that after 16 weeks(4 months!!!!), the 'honeymoon-period'/Hype is over, and i am really.............

Better than average, amongst some of the fastest and dedicated GT4 driver's on the planet!

So it's not that bad! lol

Neil

What a competitive week! The difference between the fast Div1 time and the fastest Div3 time, was just over 2 seconds. Over 2 laps, that's not bad.

Only a second a lap difference. That's like the gap between Mclaren and Toyota. (Well...a Mclaren that works...and a Toyota that's not being drove by Ralph Malph)

Hahah, nice one :).

Thanks for the thanks guys! And yeah, Kolyana, we'll see what happens next week... I'll put in another strong time I think, this combo looks yummy!

Oh don't think you've got this week won yet mate. Just remember who is sitting on your rear bumper, waiting for just one little mistake...

Lol, glad I'll have some competition! I wasn't talking about winning this coming week though, just talking about possibly getting promoted next week... We shall see! And if you're on my rear bumper, I guess I'll just have to drive faster to keep you away from it! W000! Let's go! 👍

Here my replay files. Congrats to all winners and podiums, specially Fasj6418 who has got his very first win around here, nice win there mate, plus one more braziliam here in the WRS. Nice work standing 4th overall and also inside division 1 times. :) 👍

This probably show that you are already one division 1 guy. :)

Here both WRS14 that i forgot to post, and WRS15 replay files.

First off: thank GOODNESS you got my times Kent! lol I forgot to send them with that first PM somehow. :P Guess I got side-trekked watching my own replay.

Second off: how the HE-YELL did I manage a top ten in only one run? And a mediocre one at that! :scared: I'm not sure if I should be impressed with myself or confused at my trend. :P

geeTeye, hOt6o4bOi, thanks for the congratulations  ... even if the real Divison 2 winner is fasj6418 👍

I hope you'll find your MaxDrive soon.

Here is my Replay.

well, in the meantime, i thought last night i had to try something to show my race... since you guys have been so trusty, i wouldn´t like to disappoint...

so...

I borrow a digital camera and decided that i was going to film my race :D

that was a little difficult, to control the shakiness that my hands provided, but after i saw the whole thing, it was clear to me that was something "usable"... you can tell by the video that i didn´t hit the cars, and that i had 2 wheels on the track/curbs all the time...

now i´m at work, but when i get home i´ll figure it out a way to post this...

it has 40 mega, and it is made in three parts (i had to film, transfer to the PC, film again, transfer and then film the end on a third part, damn, that memory was a s***!). :yuck:

i think i have to zip or something, i don´t know, i´ll talk to kent about this, but i´ll try to post something for you guys...

:dopey: more happy now that i have my run in my PC... 👍

Thanks for the kind comment, KLR. But still, I suppose I should be impressed with the fact that it was only my first set of runs that netted me that decent position. However this also begs the question: how come so few people raced this week?

Lol, partially the FWD bit, and I'm guessing the other part would be the AI bit. I found the FWD bit to be more than fun enough, and gave up in the beginning with the AI, but then I came back to it and figured out a way around them and kept at it.

d00d, then they are missing out. That car was an AWESOME piece of machinery to drive! I had tons of fun with it and I'm going to get one in Sim mode next chance I get.

the AI was more of a roaming obstacle course, but not all that bad. But I guess that the others did not think so. :-/

KLR142
w0000! I held him off!!! Gotcha Circa86! Lol. That was CLOSE though! I almost submitted my 3'04.167 time! Then I ran a kinda fast 3.735 that was dirty and decided it would be easy enough to duplicate, so I did...

Good job everyone else who dealt with the annoying AI this week! Seems like there weren't very many, but yeah.

Kent, you have both of my times up there, the one from where I was going to be originally done with this week's race, but then had someone conjure up some competition for me, so I bettered it... Thanks! :)

Thought I might add... My setup for that race was RSS tires all around(I tried just RS tires on the back but it gave slower laps) with the AI on -10 and on RSH tires. I originally couldn't get around them, but I found the "knack" for it and it wasn't that hard after I got the hang of it.

My T2 splits were 1'09.94x and 1'02.470 FWIW.

Oh you just got me KLR!!!!!

I will get you next time!!!! I had so much fun with this one though I don't even care. keep up the good work

by the way I ran F-RSS R-RM just like I always said I would, AI on +7 on RH. I would have had you if I would have ran it a few more times too! I lost quite alot of time on lap two, but my first lap was fast, under 1'36

circa86
under 1'36
WOW! Yeah man, you were definitely hauling. It was a great week, great competition man! My other time that was just a little slower(and dirty) I had a first lap of 1'36.554 or something and that was hauling for me! The winning run was a little slower, 1'36.6 or .8 I don't remember. Anywho, yeah, my second lap definitely wasn't much to write home about either but it was a tad faster than my dirty one and I didn't want to run it anymore, it was getting late :). Definitely good running.

This week however, who knows what will happen... I need to adjust in some less understeer while maintaining a stable ride... That's hard...

Yeah my first lap was a 1'35.9** but lap 2 was only a 1'27.8 or something like that, I had seen a 1'26.2 in practice.

just incase anyone is curious, here were the lap times of my time

lap 1 1'34.793
lap 2 1'26.644

sorry for mine being so late...
ive had major work this past week

Wasn't Casio supposed to be promoted after his good finish in week 14 ?
I was expecting to see his name in the div 2 block, but he's still div 3.

It seems that everybody including him didn't notice.

I noticed! However, I could not get varify. So I'm still in D3, I'm enjoying too! The Top 4 ranked D3 racers are always racing for the win!

Does it mean you're not winning div 3 anymore, and that I have to recalculate weeks 14 and 15 ?

Well, he isn't currently winning division 3(assuming you're talking about your leaderboard), I've been winning for three weeks now, going on four... But yeah, he's still in division 3, so calculate it to reflect that I guess.

To me Casio won week 14 and you finished 5th.

And as far as div3 winners are concerned, I have in my spreadsheet :
Simon C : week 1
Villeneuve 81 : week 2
Large Fryz : weeks 3 & 5
circa86 : week 4
SimRaceDriver : week 6
KLR142 : weeks 7 & 15
Old Geezer : week 8
TeamLosiRacer : weeks 9 & 10
mkay : weeks 11 & 12
jumpputt : week 13
Casio (or Lewie ?) : week 14

which makes only 2 wins for you.
