Thanks for the settings CarbonFiber Man. I couldn't keep traction on some of the trickier parts of the track though, so I had to lower the suspension a bit. Otherwise they worked very good for me.

Got it down to:
23.918
51.183

I'm getting more familiar to both car and track and actually starting to enjoy this combo. :D

23.786 / 51.128 after second session.
I'll try CarbonFiber's settings tonight, perhaps they suit my driving style better.

beru,

Are you planning on running with us?

Joining up and all that?

Well we are glad to have you around, but you must follow the rules like everyone else.

That means registration if you plan on posting any sort of times or getting into the results.

It is a simple race/ regestration setup.
Just follow the link in my sig.

As for the race, even though I totally love this car and combo, I am not sure I will get to run it.

Just don't know if I have the time or patience this week to keep up with the pack, none the less, the type of performance I know I can pull.

So for now, I have nothing much at all to say.
But I will be back soon to see how things develop...
Actually, I will be around for a while to come because I have nothing to do and it is my job as a mod to keep an eye on this forum... So I will be around.

Catch you guys later. :D

Hi All,
I finally have some time to drive,so I thought I
would give it a go this week.
Nice combo,GoKents. So Far, after one session, best clean T times are:
T1=23.80
T2=51.00
Still more to come off,I'm sure.

Later,
cinjun8

EDIT:embarrassed:OPS,I posted the wrong T times, corrected to reflect the actual #'s

A BIG Thanx to CFM for posting your set-up! While not drastically different from the two I was using, within 10 Laps I "Found" 2/10 seconds & within 10 more Laps another 1/10. Most of the improvement came after T2: MUCH more stable out of the last tunnel & thru the last left before the finish straight! Thanx again...UB57 :D

Ah, UB showing some enthusiasm. ;)
I'm glad some setups are being passed around this week.

Glad to see an older racer coming back for a few laps. :D
(cinjun) 👍

Now, for an announcement.

I'm not sure about the stability of this internet line, so... I may run into trouble throughout the weekend and maybe (hopefully not) monday.

Should worse come to worse, I can use any public computer including (with luck) the local community college computer. (computers. )

Never fear though racers!
I shall return.

Some more laps, and my current best is 23.778 - 50.976. Not much better than before, the biggest improvement was on sector 3, I now manage to pass it almost flat-out in 6th gear.

Been over a year since my last race, and prolly a bit late for this one but will try to squeeze it in for fun.

Just confused as to which is the road car,

Spoon Sports S2000?
Mugen S2000?
Honda S2000?

thnx
WSSSUP

Welcome back. :)

It's the Spoon Sports S2000 (name inside garage)
or Spoon S2000(J) (name in garage overview)
Fully Modified it will be at 444hp

I was also confused about the "roadcar" name, as it doesn't exist in the PAL-version, but I've taken it for being opposed to the racecar.

I tried your settings yesterday... Well, er    I couldn't make much with them. The suspension is better than with my settings, but I'm slightly loosing in turning ability, and I was wondering if you correctly wrote the gearbox settings. Auto 18 with a final drive of 3.650 ? I reach my top speed in 6th gear even before I'm on the straight line, which makes me lose about 3 sec. per lap.
Here are my initial settings in case someone wants to try them out :
14.4 / 12.2
91 / 91
5 / 5 / 7 / 7
2.0 / 1.0
0.5 / 0/0
3 / 3

16 / 20

10 / 40 / 20

Auto 29, Final drive 4.100

I think I'll end up with a mix of your suspension settings and the rest of mine.

New clean save:

22.683 / 49.313
evil2.gif

Same setup as above but change:

Stabilizers: 5/5
Camber: 3.0 / 3.0
LSD: 10/40/10

These few changes give better traction out of the corners, less inside wheelspin, and a bit more traction overall, but it's a bit touchier at turn-in.

Flat-Out: The gears I posted are correct. You have to use the "Tranny Trick".

First. uninstall the racing gearbox, then reinstall it so that all values are returned to their original values. Next, slide the Final drive value all the way to the right. Next, slide the auto setting all the way to the left (to 18). Finally, slide the Final drive bar to 3.650. If done correctly, this will give you a top speed of a bit over 160 M.P.H. before hitting the redline. For more info, search for the "Tranny Trick" or Gear Trick" in the GTP forums.;)

Time Submitted

23.749 / 51.206

I only got one 45min session with this car Wednesday night, just used CFM's original settings with no tweaks, his settings didn't completely fit my driving style but they worked well, I didn't tune at all.

This has been a really busy week for me and I won't be anywhere near a PS2 for at least the next three days.

Even though I kow my time is slow and well off pace I am submitting it...given I think it is really lame when people cherry pick weeks that they only do well in.

Later...guys....

I'll do that. 160 mph is my current top speed, so since your settings improve my car's stability, I should be able to lap faster.

Driving with CarbonFiber Man's latest settings. They suit me very well. Thanks again.

I'm now at:
23.709
50.804

Feels there's more time out there.

This is the Spoon Sports S2000 we're driving? I can't find any Spoon S2000 Road Car...

EDIT/ The one I have also says "Spoon S2000(J)"

If that's the right car, I'm at 23.1 / 50.0 so far. :)

Nice thing this "tranny trick". My T times improved a little bit : T1 = 23.5 / T2 = 50.6.
One more evening to practice, I'll try to mix CFM settings with my original ones.

I got to do laps today.

34 miles to be more specific.

Just a few notes...
I ran springs soft, with oversteer settings at about 2lbs. apart.
Low bound, higher rebound.
"high" camber.
No toe and equal stablizers.
even brakes.
same lsd as cfm...

Now the difference worthy of mentioning. :D
My top speed on the 30 mile run was 163.
No tranny trick, mid range auto slider with 3.950 final drive.

So what do you all think?

btw, my t times were pretty weak, but still acceptable for what effort I got to put in. ;)

Later. :D

Long time no see gentleman. Sorry I havent been around but first the comp took a crap and then I bought SOCOM II which has kept me more than occupied. Oh and work. I will try to get in on this week but it will be tough since my save file for this game is still lacking since my card decided to die right before I stopped posting. Hopefully I havent lost what little bit of skill I did have.

Right there with you, flat-out.

50.571:D

But with a lousy finish.

S**t, I thought my T2 at 50.6 would be enough to be faster than you this time. :irked: I'll have to practice again tonight.

But with a lousy finish.
During yesterday night session I improved my T1 and T2 by 0.3 but my final time by 0.8. :mischievous:. A slight drift in the last turn slows down the car by a few km/h, just enough to stay flat-out on both rumble strips (inside and outside) and keep the speed as high as possible.

aiight guys here are my latest times.

T1: 22.823
T2: 49.242

I am a bit diappointed in my T1 cause i saw one 22.5, a couple 22.6 and a few 22.7 T1s but i kept messing up on the rest of the track.

ill try some of these new set ups and will see how i do.

Alright guys, worse has come to worse and right now I am on my dad's laptopl.

The "upstairs/ internet" line has been cancelled thanks to changing companies. (damned phone companies can't work together to keep all the house lines alive when my family switches services.)

So what that all means...

I will not be around today until the very end of the night.

I can't use my dad's pc too much, and I can't occupy the downstairs line all day... hence, I will only get back on at the end of the night when it is time to post the results of the week, and of course, post next week's race.

btw, suggestions for tracks or cars should be posted in the suggestions thread, and like usual, I could use some suggestions. :D

Catch you guys at the end of the night. :D
btw, blazing fast angelx... keeping up with the group is hard for this week, but if figure cfm will post a replay for me to learn from. (hint, hint. )

Catch you guys tonight.
Later. :D

There I realize how much practice I need to drive in division 1. :( :( :(
Perhaps with a J-GTC I could run that fast :odd:

This is the first time GT3 has seen my PS2 in well over a year.
Got a good session in yesterday, with amix of the settings mentioned, and my own gearbox.

t1 23.570
t2 50.527

However i did find a sligthly more grippy soloution reducing the front springs and dampers over the above settings, providing better grip over the curbs, and intended to run it today, but events have overtaken and wont get the chance to run them.
oh well the above times will have to suffice for my first weekly entry.
