Week 69 Results

That lap is definately dirty.
An obvious wall brush in sector 13 visible from any of the "behind the car views."

This does in fact ruin the lap and qualify it as an illegal lap.
However, the results have already been viewed over and over, so at this point there is little to no good that can come from me removing the time.

On that same note I will go back and mark that the lap was dirty.

I talked with angel and he says this was an honest mistake because he did not review the lap in the analyzer. He has vowed that this will never happen again, and I have vowed that a very close eye will be on him for some time to come.

**** guys, I would like to make an appolgoy on behalf of daan (david) he sent me an email stating that the could not get a message (PM or email) to kent for the submission of his time, hopeing that I could, and sent me his details. Even though it is overly late, I think that we know daan is a well known trusted guy that was just befallen by bad circumstances. Either way, I have his time for this track sitting in my inbox, and didn't even realize it was there. Sorry Daan!

Kent, if its possible, would you still accept his time? I can forward you the email to show you the time stamp if necessary, I just feel bad that I overlooked it. Especially to a guy who has been nothing but gentlemanly (even when we argued about the Enzo vs. the McLaren )

Although you had a "wall brush" and therefore Illegal, the fact still remains that you produced a fast lap time that IMO warrants some sort of positive comment for your achievement instead of being told off like some naughty school boy 👎

I too thought the public "reprimand" was a bit much but I suppose Kent has to make us all aware that we have to abide by the rules. (I know it was a mistake AngleX and you didnt "on purpose" bash the wall) It makes people think twice now before submitting a dirty one ! [/b][/color]

I had been trying to send a PM to Kent for 30minutes. GTP just wasn't responding. By this time it was half past midnight. I knew you'd be around and posting your own time, so I went to RL and got your address.

So, Kent, if you want to put me in, that's fine, and if you don't, then that's fine too.

Big james, sphinx, atleast you both had the balls to call me out on the horrible actions taken in this scenerio.

...In week 68 I had a dirty time that was faster than my clean final time.
I could have easily turned that in and hoped not to be caught... that would be cheating.
If I believed that this was what angelx did I would have marked him as a cheat and removed his time.
Instead, I left his name in the results and told him to check his replays better.

I will not try to extend these personalized resolutions to situations like this in the future... Instead, a Standard Operating Procedure will be developed shortly to deal with these sorts of issues in a way more fitting of an official gtp competition.

Just do me a favor and remember all the other races where racers have spent hours on the frustration of trying to match their barely dirty best lap with a clean best lap.

As for publicly addressing this,
So sorry Angelx, I will not force such humilation on you again.
My bad.
Atleast the wrs has a great emotional support program.

I just wish I had noticed this one. Arcade Calsonic Skyline and Rome are two of the things I like most in GT3

Sorry to dredge this up again when it was nearly buried, but I just thought I would mention that I thought this was handled in an entirely appropriate manner. I'm willling to accept that this was an honest mistake by angelx, and to his credit he went to some trouble to provide a replay in a timely manner, when he could have stalled or trotted out the old little brother/sim city/copied over sort of excuse. I don't know how much of an OLR background angelx may have; I know he's fairly recent here at the WRS. It may be that the situation should, and would, have been handled differently if a veteran had submitted a dirty lap. I guess my point is that in this, and a number of previous situations, I think GoKents has done a pretty good job of assessing the situation, and doing the right thing. I would rather trust to the judgment of a good RA, who can take all the factors into account, than rely on some rigid SOP.

I just figured that there may be some racers who didnt like what you said Kent, or they took it in thw wrong way. I kind of figured that as you are "in charge" you've got to make sure errors like scraping walls etc are nipped in the bud.
