Handlebar
I thought it was too high vs the low 40x's. I am just starting to wrap my head round this format.

Well you and I might need to improve a lot before we can be better than the guys in the 3XX PP on the leader board.
But Monday for the race our highest PP car is instantly competitive and we will all enjoy a thight race and a friendly competition since we will all be lapping at the same pace.

The lowest PP that I am close on is 451... Gulp.

We are all at different skill levels Handlebar and the car choice has a lot to do with it as well. Some cars like the Ford RS200 are just plain faster than other cars. But the whole point really, besides trying to find win the TT portion of the event, is bringing a car to the track that you feel comfortable with in racing side by side with others and we can all run the same lap times, making for close, competitive racing.

Unlike in many past VCRC events where we are all in the same car and there are huge separations of distance throughout the field, in this event you will be racing close to others probably from start to finish barring an unfortunate mistake of some kind, so you want to try to pick a car you are really comfortable driving.

And that's one of the beautiful things about this type of event, you don't have to go for the TT win, you can just pick a car you really like driving, that you really have confidence in, that's close to the PP target and you're off to the races...literally:sly:

I'll be at the races Mike:tup:

Monday race schedule has now been posted. Who's racing?

Will not be missing this, me and the mighty Civic 👍:tup:for MCRC race and the formidable Isuzu for VCRC race.:gtpflag:

Cote Dazur/cotedazur06/Honda Civic Type R '08/417pp/1:53.530/EDT

I'm late to this party and hadn't seen Cote's car choice. The Civic is indeed mighty around gp/d. I had a wee practice earlier on, got down to 398pp and kept getting under the target time. D'oh! Think about 396 should do it for me, but I'm out of time, Cote is already in the civic plus I'll be fast asleep come the race.

I'm looking forward to the next challenge though.

I understand the race is very late for your time zone. for future reference there is no problem in choosing the same car as some one else.

Using the same car as someone else is perfectly acceptable.

As for the next round, targets will be published on Monday.

I will have to pass this time. In three weeks or so I will be done with my state mandated testing and can think again. Good luck!

Good luck with your exams! 👍 Look forward to seeing you on track whenever the schedule allows! :)

I haven't checked too much out on the board lately, but am more and more interested in this. I won't be able to get a time/entry in for the deadline of tonight, but can get something ready for the Monday race if that is okay.

As this is early days for the series, I will allow a few exceptions. Just do it when I'm not looking and slip it in the pile with the rest of them.:)

Sorry about the lack of specifics on the car. The Clio I am in is the one from the new car dealership.

sadly, won't be able to race on monday as it is 1am here - if anyone is up for a more euro friendly team I would be more than happy to host!!

A euro race schedule has now been posted for anyone interested.
:)

As mentioned before as this is early days I will accept late entries.

I will need to take some time this week for the VCRC version. I had thoughts of the RS200 as did two others already. Will see what else I have in the garage for some variety. That RS200 owes me a win though ;).

Don't feel you have to choose a different car. Drive whatever you feel comfortable in.

Regarding the MCRC race Monday: I ran some laps with my Clio online last night. I was a full second off my offline time. I haven't run online vs offline times in a loooong time. Was my driving that far off or is everyone experiencing that much of a difference (I know online is usually slower).

When we ran a practice race last Monday, we all experienced some difference in times, but we were all still super close for the whole race.

I noticed the same as you at the beginning, online seems to react different and slower, but after a while it seems that I adapted and the lap time ended very close. In any case it is the same for every one.
