OK, Ive narrowed it down to these two. But Im not sure of which one is better, and since Im a beginner at photography I would appreciate some constructive criticism from some of you more experienced photographers, and an opinion on which one you think is better. Thanks in advance.

This is great. I like how soft it looks. As emad said, I think we have a winner.
I don't know if I will participate this week. I haven't been any place with water since last summer. All of the lakes are still frozen. Maybe I can get something with my sink.

I personally like the first picture better. It seems to have better composition. There is something in both the fore (the shards of tree) and background (clouds and mountains) that grabs my attention. However, there seems to be some grain in the picture, probably caused by too high of an ISO rating. But the camera may of needed that certain setting, and its not like it slaps you in the face. Also, I would suggest rotating the image slightly. The horizon didn't seem to be horizontal so I lined it up, and I was correct, I think it could help a bit. Other than that, awesome shot! Great colors, and great composition.
In the second picture, there isn't much to take in from the picture. I think there could be some excellent shots with the turtle, but you'd have to move and try out different angles. But again, awesome colors in this one, the agua is so beautiful.

Big macro fan, aren'tcha? Awesome water droplets. You've got a very good eye for the close up world.
And c'mon people. Vicious' picture is more inspirational and motivating than the feeling of despair. I say we all go out there, and try to out do him. We can take him down.
Either that or we can make a Survior like pact and not vot for him.

What did he do to cheat!? If he cheated this could get interesting. It would also give me a chance to participate and not get blown away.
Edit - If you save his image and look in properties, it doesn't list a camera or anything. Everybody else's entries have a camera listed. I can tell that Cake has a Canon and that Powripper has a Kodak camera, but I can't see any info on the image that Vicious took.

Thanx for all the praise - and I love that shot as well. It was taken at Nike World H.Q. - about 5 minutes from my home and where my wife works. I also love the macro and bulb shots. Very nice!

I was planning on going out and taking quite a bit of shots today. But I woke up late, and unfortunatly, when I opened my blinds up, it was all gray. Not a ray of sun streamed through the clouds. Discouraged, I thought of staying indoors and trying to sort through and edit some of my current photographs. Then, I realized I could still grab some good shots and this also be a good time to play with exposure locks and the sort. I went out and grabbed only a couple of decent pictures, one of which I still have to edit, but here is the other one.
