The 2nd is better because the depth of field on the first one is waay too far off. The DOF on the 2nd could also use a bit of tweaking, but it at least lets you see more of the detail on the waterfall.

I'd go with the second too. The white balance on the first one is a little out of whack.

I like Antihero's picture best. Goomba, the second image in your post looks better than the first. I guess I like macros more for some reason.

I am sure somebody already has what I have on their website, but I am going to do it too. I don't want to take this thread off topic, but where should I put the theme of the photo comp., next to the week number, or under the week number. Appologies if I've missed the deadline but I just found this comp.

Here's a snapshot I took last october in South Australia, it's just taken on a little 3.2 mp pentax optio but I think it turned out okay considering it was a spur of the moment snap

The image has been resized to 800x600 in irfan view, nothing else done to it.

As soon as someone either sends me an idea, or I get one, they'll be on hold.. With that said, start sending me freakin' PMs!

You can try to make very general themes. Like:

Sky
Colors (Blue, Red, etc ..)
Metal
Wood
Travel
Chrome
Plastics
People

Just really broad range stuff ...
