Brock, I would have cropped in a bit more on the top, so as to make the edge of the structure come right out of the corner of the picture. Just makes more sense on the eyes.

Cool pictures 👍

Yeah, Brock, your pictures seem off-balanced and just don't make much sense at all....

Any thoughts on the ones I posted? remember I'm pretty new at this too. :)
The first is the best. It creates an awesome sense of the size and emphasizes the shadows and shapes on the structure.

The other two are nice, but I find them to be a bit lacking in direction. There's no real focal point to them and they don't have as much use of shadows.

Try fiddling with the levels maybe?

When dealing with B&W, specifically when trying emphasize stuff like shadows, such as in this architecture competition, high contrast can really make a picture look dramatic versus the normal.

Along with emad, I prefer the first, here is a little edit I did on it (curves, levels, border):

Is that image a scan? Your sky looks dusty.

and thanks emad and burnout, I really value any comments, because I have alot to learn :) and burnout, mind if I use that edited version for my final entry?

I just realized I don't have a final entry with that post of mine.

That interior shot is my final entry

just makin sure I gues..

I guess I am in the same boat as Blackbird. I really have noting to take a picture of. All of the houses are new and boring in my neighborhood. I want to go to one of the lakes in town and take pictures of those houses. They were built anywhere from 1850 to 1920. Most of them are really neat.

I could enter a picture from one of my vacations last summer, to Charleston, S. Carolina, but I don't think I will do that. I will attatch two from Charleston that are poor, but I could use. If I would, they would need to be resized.

That's a good idea. I don't know if the neighborhood you live in has this, but some of the ones close to me have some cool fountains, so I think I'm going to try and get some shots in at both day and night.

Is this thing still on?

After months without taking a single picture I got my camera back today (for a few hours at least) and catch these:
