dude, it's a free-run, what's so wrong with it?

Agreed... Boom said that we couldn't post total 2-lap times, but that we could post individual lap times as long as nobody could figure out a 2-lap total from that....

...though I disagree with being able to post lap times this week, it does seem to be within the rules.

well, not both lap times (simple arithmetic to figure out your overall time), but we should be able to post one of them...

Ok sure fellas.

Post all the free run times you want.

My bad. ;)

cya at the finish this week... I might have a time.

lol, thanks for saying that lap time Jpec, now I see I'm not that bad...well you're in division 3, so my comrades in division 2 should be right where I am.

oh and btw, improved my total lap time by about .4 secs..I'm still not satisfied.

Lap 1
T1=0'18.664
T2=0'32.068
T3=0'58.607

Lap 2
T1=0'11.780
T2=0'24.994
T3=0'51.409

I take it you're running a little bit faster then (down in my goal range probably). I gotta find out how you people get so darn fast!

oh and I'm using my own settings...no need to post them because the car is very loose...the only drawback is that I lose some time in the hairpin because of that..but on all other sectors I do good.

I'm losing a little time after the chicane thing, and also that tight lefty after the long straight (drifting a little bit...). Oh well, more racing later...

Best T3 (sorry cant remember the other sector times, this just stuck in my head for some reason ;) ) is a 51.666 in Free run
Just about got a setup I like and hoping for a time like Jpec07 mention earlier, in Free run of course :)

heh, I'm aiming for a high 1'14 when all is done this week, and I'm about to go perfect my driving...

18.5 / 32.0 / 57.7
11.7 / 24.8 / 50.9

:mischievous: not clean, of course :irked: ;)

best clean lap:
18.7 / 32.0 / 57.9
11.8 / 32.2 / 51.3

Screwed up the the chicane on that clean lap, so I figure I've got about another 1.000 to come off.

Great track / car choice Boom. This is fun :D I think the last sector will determine the winner this week ...

@CFM: any new splits?

Since CarbonFiber Man kindly posted his setup, I might run this week. Okay....I know, I'm lazy.
I hope he's feeling better, as I want to see his splits.
Hmm....I guess I'll boot 'er up.
I'll be back.

Me likes 'em.

L1:
18.287
31.462
57.588

L2:
11.680
24.758
50.727

Mind you, these are stand-alone times. Not a save.
I'll get one for sure.

A bunch of cronies are coming by at Midnight, to play cards, drink and get festered. :lol:

So, I'll have another go at it tomorrow.
Have a happy. :)

edit:
Hey boom! Did you go to the World Cup?

After another short session got my T's to:

19.294 33.286 59.522
12.114 25.716 52.067

Shaved 1.5 sec of my overall time, mostly because of two good chicane passes. :)
I'm really close to my limits here, racing two okay laps.
If I find some more time, maybe I will try some of the posted settings instead of driving with the default settings.

Glad to see ODP and Luxy putting up some fast splits:) I've got a clean save that I'm probably going to sumbit, the T3's were:

57.340:mischievous:
51.137:irked:

My first lap of the save is ridiculously fast, the fastest I've ever run, the second lap was kinda lousy, about .500 or more off of my free run laps. My best T3's ever are 57.180 and 50.5, respectively. I might give this one more run before submitting but it will be tough to beat this run I have already. Still using the same setup as I posted above.

To those that posted that the car oversteers too much, just remember that there is a difference between oversteer caused by chassis tuning and oversteer caused by being too agressive with the throttle. This car with stock horsepower understeers so badly it's not even funnny. It's the 600 HP with no downforce that makes it so touchy. In fact, when I go through the hairpin before T3 the car almot never slides or spins the tires with proper technique and throttle application.

If you want to reduce oversteer during turn in, change brake setts to something like 24/20 and increase LSD decel setting by 10-20 points.If that's not enough you can add a degree of rear toe in, or maybe increase the front spring rate 1 or 2 points, but not alot. If you are oversteering coming out of the corners chances are you are trying to get on the gas too soon and too hard (before the car has adequate traction, too much sideways load on the tire), or not running a wide enough line. Remember on the hairpin, while braking setup as far to the left as possible, brake firmly in a stright line then carefully turn in and come onto the inside rumble a little after halfway through the turn and ride the inside rumble a bit as you exit. If you are hitting the outside rumble early on exit you will always have problems as the track slopes downward more towards the outside of the turn, you should not hit the outside rumble until at least 1/3 to 1/2 way up the length of it. In the slowest part of the turn I am going between 52-57 MPH, and once I have traction the car will accelerate very powerfully and get a great run up the hill towards T3.:cool: Hope this hepls somebody, see you all later. :D

I've got some new times.

Lap 1
T1 = 18.622
T2 = 31.983
T3 = 59.088

Lap 2
T1 = 11.654
T2 = 25.325
T3 = 51.068

Alright, I knew it... way to go carbon :D

I will see you at the finish, and hopefully I will get some good runs in just to try and keep up.

Till then, later.

Sumbit? :lol:
The Hoosiers have just won their 6th National Soccer Title. In the snow. :eek:

1st clean save:
L1
18.065
31.457
57.503 - PB 57.166

L2
11.535
25.014
50.832 - PB 50.355

As usual, it's kind of difficult to get the two together.
Realistically, there is a ½sec. remaining.
It's tough to remain calm and focused, when I see a fast first lap.
I get too conscious and push too hard or get too conservative.
Well, I guess I'll have to keep trying.

See you later.
:) :) :) :)

@HareTurtle: Poker/Blackjack

I just broke a 1'14 lap time in free run, and then whipped out these times in the actual race:
Lap 1:
T1: 0'18.854
T2: 0'32.213
T3: 0'58.637
Lap 2:
T1: 0'11.931
T2: 0'25.278
T3: 0'51.526

dont know about the first lap, aint run a race yet, but the second lap is pretty good

Will be racing tonight after I finish work

Well, my times are in. These a I did on thursday and haven't been able to beat em since... not that I spent a lot of time on this race especially sine I bought a new longboard this weekend (and early xmas pressie to myself).

T3s are...
L1 - 57.940
L2 - 51.115

Gotta say I quite enjoyed this one.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you don't beat me ;)

Well, the race will be over in less than 24 hours so if you can't manage to get the 350Z, you can always just get started on next week's race tomorrow morning. Boombexus usually posts next week's race a few hours after the deadline for the current week.:cool:

Just finished my last final. I haven't had much time to work on this, so I'm well behind. I'm going to try and get a few more runs in so I don't finish ten seconds off the last person. Hopefully I'll be able to grab internet access tonight to send my time.

Awesome racing, guys. It amazed me to see some of those split times.
