Hi all,

I last played gt5 before gt7, and can recall audio chat with people before and maybe during the race.

I haven't been into Lobby multilayer yet, so maybe they're enabled in there.

Using pad/wheel to type is cumbersome before and after in sports lobbies.

Assume they're disabled to prevent inevitable arguments/flaming.

We had the functionality in GT6 online lobbies. Any PS-compaitble headset with a mic and you were good-to-go.

It was my first time racing online and it was awesome.

It was something that was left in the PS3 era unfortunately. I was in the closed beta for GTS and I don’t recall even that having any mic options, only way to communicate audibly was to set up a mic chat party outside the game. It made sense for ranked/Sport mode, but I have no clue why they didn’t bother trying to have mic availability in casual online modes/lobbies after GT6.

The issue was that it was always implemented really badly and didn't really give you the chance not to listen to screaming 15-year-olds so it was never going to survive

The party chat was working (haven't tried it recently) but you have to all join the same party to talk.
So, a custom lobby with friends should work as everyone could join the same party outside GT7.
PS5 has microphone and speaker built into controller, PS4 only has speaker.....

But as was said earlier it's not in game due to 'tween boy swearing syndrome'..... 12yr olds think it makes them cool.:banghead:
