Feeling better after the 'Flu. Sorting myself and my backlog of 'to do' stuff, then gonna post the first race!

Stand by for action!

Mind if I just sit for awhile?

I've done all you can do with Prologue, the thrill is gone, the GTHD thrill has been gone for months though. With each having only one course and very limited cars they get boring after awhile.

Let's have some more suggestions please guys!👍

Although I never submitted a time for it, I really enjoyed the feel of the Jaguar around the Nurb last week. I think it was a great balance of car and course and perfectly captured the spirit of the WRS. I have not been able to test any more cars-track combos but will try tomorrow as today is already fully booked.

In the same spirit as week 1 of this series, I'd like to test a "unique" car with "character." But perhaps pair that with a seldom used track.

Let's have some more combo suggestions fellas!👍

Just a thought - I've been playing around with the Dodge Viper and Chevy Camaro settings on the Twin Ring Montegi Super Speedway so that the car has to draft its way up through the field. The field itself needs to be tinkered with as well (initial difficulty settings around 4,5 or 6) depending upon which car I use - Viper or Camaro.

It's a fun exercise in drafting which demands a lot of patience and consistent, mistake-free driving. Reminds me of Daytona. :) I think it may have a place in the WES with the proper car and AI settings. I'll have to tinker some more back at the lab.

What do you think?

It's been a while since the Clio Cup season I ran has ended and with what I have been hearing about with regards to the UKGTP and SFGTP events, I was wondering of we can do a couple of WES events in the near future with the Clio Cup race cars. We would be running 30 lap races with them on the same tracks that were used in the most recent GTP get-togethers(Autumn Ring Reverse and SSR5 Reverse) and we would have the cars set with the same weight, HP and Top Speed settings that were used.

I just thought we should get a bit of an idea as to how the big race of the GTP's is done if the time ever comes for us to actually go to one of these events and actually take part in it. ;)

Yeah, thats a good idea.
Now if we only got the results up for the last Lan, we could see what tyre choices and power settings they used.....

:mischievous:👍

I was thinking, as you do in the wee hours of the morning, when anything noisy is taboo.........

There have been some mentions of combining somehow the WES, with other series.
So, I thought about how it would work, and came up with this premise:

If a series steward wished to include a WES style race within their series, they could allow any WES drivers (which would be anyone, basically) to run within their series as "wild-card" entries (Subject to WES level proof, if needed). They would, as in real-life, figure within the points system for that series, but obviously would not be able to make an impact on the leader-board of that series outside of denying someone (Who they beat fair and square) some points.
As I say, this happens in RL racing all the time!

Take for example, WSB at Suzuka. (When they ran it, that is)

There may be up to 5 "wild-card" Honda racers in any race.
Those riders could finish 1st,2nd & 3rd, and there wouldn't be anything the regular rider's could do.
The "wild-card"'s got the points for their positions, and the regulars got reduced points cos they were crap!

So, if for example Chris (CAMikazi) wanted to.....say....suggest a Clio Cup race as a WES combo?
He would be more than welcome. As long as he called it something like the WES open round, or WES invitational round, with that series.

I, would include it a a WES race week as well, and call it something along the lines of Clio cup invitational and run it at the same time with the same specs!
Points available to all, as usual.

So, basically, BOTH series get some extra interest and advertising because they are promoting each other!
And, maybe, someone could float the same idea over at the WRS forum (independent of myself, of course)!!
And then they and us, could possibly, do a WRS Hot-lap/WES Enduro combo?

How's about that for an idea?

Neil

Sounds good to me. :)👍

I'll put that into consideration for Season 2. :sly:

Tk thats exactly what I was talking about, but whats even better about it is that those participants who regularly run in both series get the advantage of knowing they can spend the extra time on it. With what i'm trying to do i figure why waste any race run at the ring as long as we work together as admin's the cross promotion should work in our favor and just help both leagues grow. Interestingly enough, mike, the real Vln has an actual clio cup that competes so we should try to hook up on that as well. The clio in my event will be in a class with other cars however, so we'll need to tune it to something you'd like while we are doing our testing in the next few weeks.

This combo was inspired by a 1989 IMSA Camel GT race I saw Yesterday:

Track : Infineon Raceway
Laps : 38
Car : Nissan R92CP '92
Hp : 1004
Kg : 846
TCS & ASM: None
AI : +10, Racing Soft
Drivers must start on Racing Medium Tyres

Alright, it's been...never...since I posted here. But I've got a few idears.

First, I've no problem with what you suggested for combining the series. I wouldn't mind having more drivers either. SuperGT and LMS. I'd REALLY like to see the WES combine with the LMS Le Mans round. And maybe combine with the SuperGT for Suzuka Enduro (spoiler). What I'd suggest, because I just can't seem to have 1 class, is to pick a class you'd have the WES'rs race in, and then pick an unused car w/in that class. If you need help with it, please PM me and I'd be glad to assist.

edit: I was going to post a few ideas for cars, but I think I'm going to put them into a series. :)

Updated my post to include some details on Driver assists as well. be sure to look at it.
