I was thinking, as you do in the wee hours of the morning, when anything noisy is taboo.........
There have been some mentions of combining somehow the WES, with other series.
So, I thought about how it would work, and came up with this premise:
If a series steward wished to include a WES style race within their series, they could allow any WES drivers (which would be anyone, basically) to run within their series as "wild-card" entries (Subject to WES level proof, if needed). They would, as in real-life, figure within the points system for that series, but obviously would not be able to make an impact on the leader-board of that series outside of denying someone (Who they beat fair and square) some points.
As I say, this happens in RL racing all the time!
Take for example, WSB at Suzuka. (When they ran it, that is)
There may be up to 5 "wild-card" Honda racers in any race.
Those riders could finish 1st,2nd & 3rd, and there wouldn't be anything the regular rider's could do.
The "wild-card"'s got the points for their positions, and the regulars got reduced points cos they were crap!
So, if for example Chris (CAMikazi) wanted to.....say....suggest a Clio Cup race as a WES combo?
He would be more than welcome. As long as he called it something like the WES open round, or WES invitational round, with that series.
I, would include it a a WES race week as well, and call it something along the lines of Clio cup invitational and run it at the same time with the same specs!
Points available to all, as usual.
So, basically, BOTH series get some extra interest and advertising because they are promoting each other!
And, maybe, someone could float the same idea over at the WRS forum (independent of myself, of course)!!
And then they and us, could possibly, do a WRS Hot-lap/WES Enduro combo?
How's about that for an idea?
