Even though the quality of the tracks would be worse, wouldnt it be awsome to be able to make a jump on a track? (and not a small jump, like a biig high jump) or just make it really retarded but fun! a track editor would be soooooo cool!

The physics in GT doesn't seem to cope well with jumps. Even rally cars seem to cope with hills like a Mercedes CLK LeMans car (i think thats it's name, the one that Webber flipped over).

The Mercedes CLR, the car that replaced the CLK-LM. I think two of them flipped over at that same spot and they decided not to run the third.

flat-out
car damage... car damage ... car damage...)

Car damage is incredibly difficult to re-create for the type of game GT4 willbe, a reality sim, not a street racer. All games that have included car damage have been criticized that it's inaccurate...so polyphony was smart, just leave it out, until the power needed to do it is available.

^ I agree, PD are aiming for total reality with the GT series and until the power is there (PS3) they will not settle for poor excuse damage models just for the sake of saying that GT4 has damage.........if they are going to do it, they should do it right......

Hey, if the original Excitebike on NES could do track editing, GT3 can. I mean, the complexity in Excitebike was over the top, man. Amazing programing. The boys at Nintendo were way ahead of their time, obviously, because no one since them has made such a detailed game that included a track editor. No one comes close.

In fact, I'm going to go play now.

there is no need for a track editor; it would be a waste of time. plus, gt is a simulator, and track editing will make it lean towards being a fantasy racer.

No need? Do you realize that the agony of waiting for the next installment of Gran Turismo will be drastically reduced by being able to create your own tracks?

And how does making your own tracks make it fantasy when driving a formula 1 car in Seattle does not?
