Marinating chicken breasts in a chipotle lime marinade. Still probably an hour or so from lighting the coals though.

Will have some macaroni salad and and either some corn or baked beans on the side.

Fat Burger. But I like Five Guys Burgers and Fries better.

I passed on a chance to try Five Guys because I wasn't feeling burgers one day. What is your take on their food and how would you compare them to Hero Burger, Lick's and/or Johnny Rocket? I've never tried the latter either.

The best of both worlds.

See previous post.

Yes, my diet is rather repetitive at the moment. But only 12 more work days until I finish for a few month and then my home cooking will be more varied.

Was going to make a large family Italian salad and spaghetti with meatballs, but the boys had pizza yesterday and were tired of Italian. (I guess the forgot when I told them spaghetti is American, but whatever.)

Found some frozen leftover beef stew. It was still awesome! And, I didn't have to cook! Even didn't have to make corn bread muffins. Leftover hot dog buns a plenty.

Did you brine them first? Best wings I ever had is when I brined them, smoked them with hickory and mesquite for two or so hours. Smokey, salty, fatty, juicy good and just awesome with Franks Red Hot hot sauce, butter and a splash of worcestershire sauce.

Nope, let them swim in beer and Vidalia onions for a few hours :). First time I've done this. I usually just cost them with Weber Sweet & Tangy Seasoning for an hour ahead of time.

1 hour in, 140 deg, about 1/2 hr to go...

Smoking with Oak and Maple. At least the maples in my front yard are good for something! I'll sauce them in a bit. Jack Daniels honey sauce, doctored up with Franks and local honey.

The beer they swam in is in the drip pan. Smells yummy when I go out there.

I haven't had the chance to try any of those sadly, but Five Guys goes very high on my list.

Gotta finish them on the gasser. Ugh, next time ill just go with the usual dual indirect. Single indirect took WAY too long.

I haven't tried Hero Burger or Lick's but I feel that Five Guys got it pretty right in terms of a contemporary burger. I'd rather not have a regular intake of their burgers though since I taste it to be greasier than other places like Johnny Rockets.

Looks great!

I take mine to 175-180. That way they drip with melted callogen making them lip-smacking juicy good! That' why I brine them. So they don't dry out.

It takes a few hours, but so what. More time to chill outside and have a beer and nice long stogie. :)

Assuming you've got a Weber Kettle for charcoal cooks, I highly suggest getting a Smokenator if you don't have one already :)

For now. Haven't decided what I want next after my Big Green Egg cracked. Too much of a pain in the ass for me to get a new one. I have just a simple Weber Kettle Grill since I don't have much of a reason to smoke that much anymore. The temps are a bit high, but since I only smoke meat, it works just fine. Haven't tried fish on it yet, but I plan too. Trout, salmon and tilapia is all the fish I like to smoke. I'm not too fond of salmon and neither are the boys. The girlfriend loves it, though so I'll smoke some for her and her cat. LOL

Thanks for the link. Looks like something I could use, but I plan to upgrade to something a little better in the future.

Could always just go with a Weber Smokey Mountain :)

I'm having a bowl of extra spicy kimchi. Mouth is on fire right now.

Good thing I have plenty of beer.

Just ate a bowl of Kraft Dinner with a can of mountain dew. Wholesome organic eating at its finest.

I made stuffed bell peppers for lunch. Stuffing was diced Italian sausage with chopped onions, Anaheim peppers and mushroom. Now drinking some tea.

That looks good. I like to slice up left over brats for pasta :)

That's what I made the meatballs with! Mild Italian sausages. Simple recipe, too.

INGREDIENTS

1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1 package (19 ounce) JOHNSONVILLE® Ground Mild Italian Sausage or Links removed from casing* (*Cut sausage link end to end, about three-quarters of the way through. Flip sausage link over, grasp casing and pull off.)

PREPARATION

1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
2 In a large bowl, combine the egg, bread crumbs, grated parmesan cheese, milk and onion.
3 Remove sausage from casings.
4 Add sausage to the bread crumb mixture and mix well.
5 Shape into 20 meatballs; arrange on a shallow baking pan.
6 Bake for 20 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through (160°F).
