Something that you are considerably better at doing than others. Maybe not world record worthy but above average or exceptionally good.

I'm still trying to discover what I might be good at, don't have anything that I can just put a finger on. I'm a fast learner and find myself doing good at most things I try though (except bicycles).

I have also had a hobby of yo-yo-ing (if that's considered a proper hobby) ever since I was little, and have now turned genuinely good at doing tricks with it. Didn't know how good I was until I joined a yo-yo club at college. If only yo-yos were important enough.

Writing GT5 as something you are good at doesn't count. :)

I'm good at debating with friends, I nearly always win the argument. I guess I am just good at taking facts and putting them into a convincing sentence.

I go up hills pretty fast on a bicycle. I don't know anyone who can beat me up hill/ mountain. My body just seems to have been tailored to it.

I'm also an expert in Philosophy of Robotics. Admittedly a field I partly made up but all the same I'm one of the most knowledgeable in this area. :sly:

I box pretty well, I wouldn't say I'm super, or I'd be doing it for a living, but my form is considered very highly developed by a lot of practitioners I've been friends with and others I've met.

I also talk a lot of crap, I'm very good at that. Not that I mean every thing I say is an untruth or hard to decipher, but I often talk/ type before my brain has had time to register what's going on.

I don't know if I'm laughing because A) I get it and find it funny, or B) I don't get it but imaging you sitting at your desk in that pose.

AT, Grover's my fave, along with Bert & Ernie.

WH3S, i also talk a lot of crap... but i'm not even good at that :D.

People who know me personally (friends in general), refer to me as a "Jack of all trades.. master of none" :(, which kind of rings true.

With regards to the 'work' side of things I could be considered a Jack of all trades as I've had so many varied jobs over the last decade, all of which I became pretty good at, apart from telesales which nearly killed me. Literally.

I guess cooking. And eating if that counts too.

Kinda makes me sad to think about all the things I used to do and used to be good at. Don't really do much anymore.

apart from telesales which nearly killed me. Literally.

Ahh telesales... the job of the souless :D, never done it myself (hopefully never will either), but i have done the next worse thing (possible worserer)... cold call burglar alarm canvasing :guilty:, only lasted a couple of days doing that, my soul couldn't take it.

Telesales stole my soul. Really. I was out of the world for a year once it had brought on my largest depression to date.

Word from the wise: Don't do telesales if you have an unstable mental constitution!

I'm good at navigating, which apparently isn't normally a womans strong point:)

Managed to navigate us through France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Holland and Belgium without ever getting lost, and not on motorways either. :)

I'm good at learning new tasks rather quickly, and I can get pretty good at them really quickly as well, so:

Same here

Many consider me to be a jack of all trades

Drawing, photoshopping, button mashing (especially on a playstation controller), NFS: Hot Pursuit 3 (I think I might be in the Top 100 Racers on consoles), working the cash register, photographic memory and where things are located, general orientation to maps (like navigating), remembering word-for-word certain stand-up comedy videos, and word searches.

Me too!

For me, it's singing, and composing music. And farting, sorry but it's true... I have a problem. :P Winning arguments without having to lie. Ummm... I'm also good at purposely over-exaggerating things to annoy people.

Photography, apparently. Also golf, considering how much time I put into it (not much). Plus I have a rather good musical ear as I learnt piano through suzuki method (more about listening and learning rather than reading and learning).

Also people say I am really approachable and personable so I guess I am good at making others feel good.
....apparently.. :P

Also apparently I can debate but I have found this strictly applies to conversations only, not an actual debating team...

Absolutely GT5.

Well, I'm good at getting passing grades from tests after having barely studied in the last couple of days.

Typing. I'm one of the fastest typers in my year and can usually type around 60 words per minute. (On a good day, 80)

Jack of all trades. Master of none.

The trick with that is to be the best Jack you can.

I find that with just about any one thing I can do (or try to do), 1 in 10 of the population can do a better job of it than I can do. That's a crap load of people who are better than me at, say, archery. But it's rarely the same guy for the next thing I can do. And even more rarely the same guy for the next thing too. The chance of finding a guy who's better at me than archery and at trombone and at parallel parking and at general knowledge is > 1/10 x 1/10 x 1/10 x 1/10 - or > 1/10,000.

Let's face it, there is only one #1 in the world at any one thing at any time - except boxing - and the chances of it being you are infinitessimal. But if you're better than 90% of the random population at everything, you're an awful lot more useful in every situation...

Jacks are better than masters.

^ +1 Same here, although maybe excluding dodgeball which I play at international level :sly:

Do you keep in mind the five "D"s of dodgeball?

Cello
Piano
Bassoon
Music Composition
Mental Arithmetic
Problem Solving
Stargazing
Swimming

To name a few. :D

My friends seem to think im the quickest driver they know, and the best at driving offroad in a vehicle.

English.
History.
RTS Games.
Biking.
That is all.

I'm very good at a few things, such as archery, weightlifting and Muay Thai (kickboxing) but where I really shine is hiking/mountaineering... and irritating my girlfriend.

I have had the pleasure of making ascents with some of Britain's best mountaineers and climbers and I have been told that the quality of my navigational skills, technical knowledge and climbing technique leaves others thinking that I am a sponsored professional climber.

It's a brilliant feeling to be great at something you love doing, and to be recognised for it. I hope everyone can enjoy this feeling, on some level, at least once in their lives.
