Finally got around to listening to The Velvet Underground & Nico although I've heard tracks from it over the years. It fully deserves its reputation as a seminal rock album. Will go onto the next three albums White Light/White Heat, The Velvet Underground and Loaded if I have time.

I also reached Dixie Chicken in my Little Feat marathon. I didn't like the first two tracks but it got a lot better for me thanks to the high production values and eclectic additions to the LF sound. Think I like Feats Don't Fail Me Now better, though.

[EDIT] Waiting For Columbus took a couple of tracks to warm up for me too but once it started cooking around the third track it lived up to the hype.
[EDIT EDIT] Now it's over I want more. But I still want the overdubs so next listen I'll try the 2002 deluxe version with the added tracks from Hoy-Hoy.

Currently listening to some Midlake. Such a great album. @UKMikey you may actually like them, the have a sound of 70s folk rock.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm halfway through Bamnan And Slivercork now and it's very melodic and easy on the ear despite their experimental sounding approach to instrumentation. I don't really think they're the Marillion to Radiohead's Genesis as they don't have a Jonny Greenwood making weird guitar noises. They're a lot more keyboardy instead, which I think is more to my taste. I'll work my way up to Antiphon and find out whether the magic goes away after Tim Smith's departure.

Will give Harp's Albion a go as well.
