I think people are reading the question wrong ^_^
We're not stating what features we want in GT5, we're saying our gaming goals 👍

My goal:

To drive every car (with enough torque) in the game for 1-2 laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
[At least once]

I'm not hardcore enough like that forum member who drove the carriage for 47 hours through the Ring :)

Physics I guess...
But you need tracks to drive on of course,
and a good AI to race at with your perfect physics

Lots of online features. A great online mode with alot of features trumps photomode and livery editors when it comes to replayability. When its all said and done people are going to spend the vast majority of their time with GT5 online NOT GT Mode just like GT5P so they better make sure it has alot of features.

Same. I hope they work on their netwerkcode cause online isn't smooth in GT5P. That's my main concern, how well will it be online.

And my goals? Kick (clean!) ass online! :)

For GT5, I will collect all cars and drive them until I have enough money to buy the next one, and I do this in alphabetical order. For me, Gran Turismo is all about that, trying cars stock then modified them and have fun! I will pass a lot of time in "career mode" or whatever its called then Online, since my goal is to own each and every vehicule :D

well weather they have weather in the game or not i hope they still have the WET tracks that they had in GT4 i beleive it was only Tsukuba but at least that's better then nothing in my opinion. Though still not the most important in my opinion.

Ideal car?
Ferrari Testarossa, the original, of course, in the classic red.
Assuming they have it in the game, of course... but if Forza does, it looks like it's the same contract, so it probably will.

License tests? All immediately, so I'll have 5 or so good cars in my garage before I start the serious racing. I'd probably take the car from the first license acquired and race it until the races become to hard, so as not, for example, to take a Toyota 7 to the Sunday Cup. Not good, that.

All cars? I want to drive all of the cars at one point, probably, but I'd get that from a gamesave posted over here. I don't have that much time... maybe...

Nice thread, by the way 👍

Buy clk gtr. Race it everywhere. Period
buy f1 car race it on all the tracks I wish they went two
buy 908 hdi race incar. Man that thing is nasty. With a march releasedate we may have the r15 as well
I love the evo I have a top 15 time on London. So I want to fully upgrade that and just race all over. I'd like the vette as well fully tuned
what I'm waiting for the most part is NASCAR with friends cause online won't be great. But ya I live 20 miles for the daytona. I dream of that track. And I dream of NASCAR racing the infield.
Life will be sweet in march. Only down side is we won't be able to do the 24 hours of daytona while it's happening :( hoepfully we will be able to do 24 hours of lemans while it's happening :)

I'll pass all the license tests first (bronze), then race with the cars I win until I can buy the first few cars on my wish list (my previous and current daily drivers, perhaps a GT-R or ZR-1 too). Then, increase my skills by getting golds on the license tests and working my way up the racing ladder. Then... learn to properly drift!

Perfect physics are impossible. Unless GT5 is delayed until the launch of the PS943589092, which happens to be the size of a small planet, so that everything can be simulated on a quantum level.

So I vote weather and day/night. I think they'd be pretty big additions.

Oh I see... this is two threads in one.

Uh, I guess my goals for GT5...

Ideally 100% completion would be nice.

Damage is not enough to guard against all corner cutting. Cutting across grass would not cause a large enough amount of damage to compensate for the time gained. Cutting across tarmac (Top Gear Test Track?) would not cause any damage at all.

If the off-track grade where to be made to be more realistic, then the driver would have to contend with a unsettled vehicle, trying to maintain it's direction & loss of traction.

I think both GT & Forza portray the off-track experience as way too smooth & forgiving, in reality a driver going off track at high speeds usually has to deal with an unsettled vehicle hitting bumps & divots possibly loosing control.

The penalty can be damaged suspension parts, aero parts depending on what speed your going. Or at worst a crash. :)

This was Joey Hands crash at Mid-Ohio in 2006, after being pushed off track.
