I lean center right or moderate conservative. I am independant to the point that I register with no party and take everything with a grain of salt, but I do feel that I lean toward the conservative/republican side of thinking. A side which some call classical liberalism.

Well I'm sure I will get bashed for this by a few(no names or name calling) I am republican. I grew up in a household of Democrats but still I went Republican. Go figure. My Dad and use to have some great debates come election time. We don't really debate anymore, we just accept each others difference in opinion.

If it's any comfort the owner of this site is a Republican.

Cool"👍 I can't vote yet, but I agree with the Republican views.)plus, my parents ar Rep. too)

I vote with whoever appears to be the best candidate.
I once had an American History professor state, "I belong to no ORGANIZED political party...I'm a Democrat".
I tend to vote Republican most of the time.
I have noticed that for state and local politics, Democrats spend a lot of money, usually (if they are sorta conservative) in the right places.
At the national Level, at this time in American history, Republicans seem to have the "stomach" to do what needs done, as far as protecting the homeland. Though, "Dubya" can blow smoke with the best of them.
*I believe that the "perfect" president would have the heart/compassion of Jimmy Carter, with the cajones of Norman Schwartzkoff.*

No, you do not have to, but this is not a "how do or will you vote" thread. You just state where you lean. You can state the side you are on or you can state the positions you support or oppose. Both if you want.

Independant . . . if I must be classified, moderate Democrat, but I really would rather not be tagged by a big party term and be glued to any partisan party agenda. I would vote Republican if I felt it was right. :)

i guess i dont have to worry about this yet since i aint of age

Hell, there're millions of people who are of age to vote, yet they don't care and don't vote, so think whatever you want. Not trying to sound mean or anything.

I'm a few years away yet for voting, but I already know I'm a strong Republican. Although, I wouldn't mind moving out of the States and somewhere like Austria, Southern Germany, Italy, or somewhere along there... but back to the topic, I'm conservative, and that's the way I like it:mischievous:

Well, I'm a Libertarian. That pretty much means you combine the best parts of both parties: social freedom and tolerance of the Democrats (without the enforced PC crap), with the best laissez-faire fiscal side of the Republicans. Then, take that and cut governmental power in half. That's a start.

I firmly believe that the government has no business being in half of the businesses it's in. Starting with FDR and the Depression (even before that), people have come to believe that the government is there to protect them from everything that can go wrong in life, even things they do to themselves. Horse hockey.

"That governs best, which governs least." To me, the government should provide for national defense, police, and infrastructure. That's about it. I don't need the government investing my retirement funds for me, or telling me who I can or can't marry, or what I ingest... so long as I'm not harming anyone else by my actions.

Moderately conservative. There, I admit it. I know, I break all the stereotypes. I'm young, I live with a woman who isn't my wife, I own two German cars, I believe Hussein has no weapons of mass destruction, I believe in all abortion except partial-birth, and I live in one of the most classicly liberal cities in the country. But after many recent events, my once far-left leanings have been changed, inch by inch, to a view of moderate conservatism. At least no-one can accuse me of not having a mind of my own.

Eh...unsure how to describe my political views.

I'm rather conservative on some issues (personal responsibility, for example), have rather strict interpretations of the Constitutions (or at least the Bill of Rights), but I also feel there are so many issues which seem to be controlled by a dead hand, and need a liberal viewpoint. After semi-careful research, I vote for what I think is right (or in my best interest), and vote for the best man or woman for the job. My voter registration card says independent, and hasn't changed since I registered 10 years ago.

So call me what you will, I have no term for it.
