what car to use in spyder/roadster race....

hi , Im having huge problems with the entry for this race , every car i buy , it doesn't qualify to enter this race , I read this

Spider & Roadster (3 races)
- Game mode : Single race
- Car type : Open car (Open roof)
- Tyre : Normal or Sport
- Cars : No restriction
- License : Domestic A license for A-spec, not required for B-spec
- Prize : Cr. 300,000/100,000/50,000/40,000/30,000/20,000

but it doesn't help much due to I have bought several open roof cars and none of them work , can someone please give a list of 3 or 4 cars that qualify to enter this race, it would be much appreciated , thank you.

Any MX-5/Miata/Eunos Roadster will do the trick.

Actually, I'm curious - which "open cars" have you tried that don't work?

I used a Lotus Elise Sport 190...
The Suzuki S2 Concept will also race here. (The Front wheel drive car won in the Suzuki Showroom. but not the GSX-R/4 - but that also will get you In that race.)

Would have been good if on the Status sheet for each car it had a little symbol to show which race it was eligible for, or the Actual races had a full list of elegible cars.

Nissan 350Z convertible if you want to win fairly easily, but not spend too much money (eg like buying a SL55 just for this series).

Hmm, since it says there is no restriction on the cars, you could completely slaughter the competition with the F1 if you felt like it.

Edit: I think I used an old turbo'd Miata.

Edit2: Are those prize figures right? I didn't remember the reward being so high.

This is the series in the begginer section right? If so the cars being suggested are kind of overkill. I used a used MGF, they are decent races as long as you get a grid without an elise in it (because you won't beat the elise w/ a MGF).

OT: Isn't it great when someone starts a thread and then disappears never responding to all of the suggestions that people make for them.

Yeah, that's always nice. Makes us feel appreciated. But at least the information is here for others to read.

I used an Elise 111R, with chip and race intake/exhaust. I built it up a little to beat another Elise, which promptly disappeared from the lineup. I could easily have done without the chip, and probably bone stock.

Now why didnt I think of .... and use that earlier .... :sly:
I struggled but won with a Copen Active top for 200 points instead

Not quite unless you have the special edition of GT4 that takes into account inflation.
Divide by 100 is more accurate.

AMG.

You should be able to use the old Honda convertable you won during licenses.

I used the Chevrolet SSR pick-up truck.

Means I could use it in the next event as well, and since I had to buy a pickup anyway . . .

I used a Lotus 111R, with S3 tires. If you REALLY want to destroy the competition, I'm pretty sure a Viper SRT-10 would be able to enter.

An S600/800 is fun, and even more so with the driving aids off.

:) Is a Pesky considered a convertible? Slap some N2s under it and go!

If you realy can't guess what kind of car to use, and it doesn't give specific car in the entry description, try previewing a race, I'm sure there will be at least one competitor driving a car you recognise (spelling?).

if you have the money i would say use one of the cobras without the aids on to make it interesting

Very interesting, but still overkill. Maybe a TVR V8S with 6.2 miles (10km) would be good.
