What did you drive today?

Since we already have a thread for what have you seen today and such, I thought it might actually be fun for those of us to share what we are currently driving or have recently had the chance to drive. Be it a rental, family friend or so on and so forth. Daily drivers not included. Please include a pic if possible.

I'll start.

I had the chance to drive an 2011 alpine white BMW M3 sedan with manual 6 speed. I was fairly impressed although I thought it was a bit soft. I didn't have a chance to play with the EDC.

Picture for reference only, I'm unsure how to get the images off my phone that I took.

Today I drove my mom's 2001 corolla. From time to time, I get to drive my dad's car which looks exactly like the one you posted but is an E92, also 6MT and ZCP just like that one

Today i drove my fiances mother's 1990's Toyota Corolla when me and her travelled to a city three hours south to look for materials for my wedding next year.

I drove a black BMW 750Li today. It was fairly nice, It had the M sport package. It belonged to the brother of the owner of the business I currently work for.

Pic again not of actual.

I don't like trains. I've never been on one, put I once stood up in the back of a van while going 65mph. I don't want to know what a train is like.

Thought I'd bring this thread back. Now that I have a new job in reconditioning, of which I do enjoy. Here's some of the cars that I've driven...around a parking lot if that counts here. (Not all of them are today) Working at a Chrysler dealership, so...it's something new as I've never driven a Chrysler product before.

Drove several Wranglers, but this one stood out. It's the "Polar Edition."

Drove my first ever full sized pickup. A Ram 1500. Although that was a couple of days ago, today I drove a 2500. X_x

Yesterday I drove the new Grand Cherokee diesel. Even before the owner of the dealership got to. :D

And finally today, I drove the Dodge Dart.

Drove...once again around a parking lot. The 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 392...automatic.

I knew I'd eventually work on a Challenger. But I didn't think my first one would be the SRT-8 model for the dealership's owner. X_x

Drove this to school for the first time today, and then later on went out for a late evening drive. Old photo from when my dad took it to Cars and Coffee, but whatever. Hopefully going to be my own car sometime soon! Absolutely love everything about it. Except maybe the steering wheel.

A relative bought a new Passat TDI SE to replace that white Sonata in the garage (which is replacing an awful early '00s Accent). The doors are light but shut with a solid whump, unlike the doors on a new Jetta I sat in recently. The interior felt decent, not particularly interesting, and the materials were average. The car was easy to drive, though. The brakes bring the car to a stop smoothly and effectively, and the steering is light. The steering had very little feel to it. The ride quality was great, in that it pretty much smoothed out all the bumps. The engine, though it sounded like crap, was probably the best part. You can barely press the gas pedal, and the car surges ahead with authority. The transmission shifts quickly and smoothly. As a highway car, I wouldn't mind it.

@MedigoFlame If you don't mind me asking, what kind of job do you do at the dealership? I've been applying to local places to do stuff like prepping the car before delivery but haven't heard a peep from them.

No pictures of my own this time, but I drove a 2014 Kia Pro_Cee'd GT:

2013_Kia-pro-ceed_GT-UK_01.jpg

And came away thoroughly impressed. Though Kia needs to fire whoever the hell came up with that name in their marketing department.

@MedigoFlame was the Dart spectacularly, physics-breakingly horrible or was it just slightly bad?
The Dart was...pretty dull. Although considering my job, I've only driven around the parking lot.

I work with reconditioning, or basically detailing. So yes, I do work on cars before delivery. I don't know any differences with Canada, but even if you don't have much experience, which I didn't, I just showed them my desire to work with some persistence. Keep contacting them and asking them of how the process is going as you've already applied. Show them you're interested and not another guy just throwing applications all over the place. It might show them that you want the job.

As someone who has driven multiple Darts in various trim models with various engines, the car isn't bad at all. With the 1.4 turbo and 6 speed manual the car is quite fun to drive and pretty quick too. I found it to be very comfortable as well, even with my duty belt on which is rare for a car that size, usually my holster jabs me in my side as I drive something like that.

Bu then again, what would I know? My truck isn't even a V8, it is only a puny little inline 6 diesel.

As a fellow reconditioner, this is the story of my life. Maybe if I'm lucky the car will be on the other side of the block and I'll get to drive it back.

I drove my own Proton Persona.. Which looks exactly like the picture below.

2010_Proton_Persona_Elegance_H-Line_in_Cyberjaya,_Malaysia_(02).jpg

Owned it for almost 4 years already and it's actually a pretty good car! Although its 1.6L engine seems underpowered, rubbish gearbox and massive turning radius that made parking this car a pain in the bottom, it's good enough to do its job.

Well no duh, it's practically a midsize car  1.4 liters and 160 HP to haul around well over 3000 lbs of bloat and feature creep. If that car can truly reach 60 MPH in 7.9 seconds as the ProfessCars simulation would seem to say, then Fiatsler has succesfully violated the laws of physics.

I have driven around the whole of the...parking lot when trying to deliver a Ram 2500 diesel I waxed. I'm 5'9" and...felt so small in it, but was towering over everyone else.

Also drove this disgusting and...sketchy Saab 900S Convertible. Roof was siliconed shut, but leaked plenty as soon as I hit the brakes.

Today I drove an uncle's 2008(?) Altima Hybrid!

It was...alright. The first hybrid car I've driven, and the first CVT. Was also the first car I've driven on electricity. There was very little connection to the road, but it rode nicely, if a bit floaty, but every FWD sedan I've driven feels much the same. Acceleration was perfectly adequate, if a bit entertaining when you rolled onto the gas. The brakes were mushy and felt disconnected from the wheels, but brought the car to a stop quickly. The interior was mostly acceptable, but the center console was finished in an awfully cheap trim that really detracted from the nice surfaces on the doors and dash. I wouldn't choose one, but if it were given to me, I'd drive it.

Four weeks and I finally got to drive a Dodge Charger (Base V6, 2013 model...) Although it almost got me in trouble... The tire pressure monitor light showed up before delivering it to a customer, so I had to get the service tech to fill it up and the dealer to drive it around for the light to go off. But instead, the salesman told me to drive it around the industrial park nearby. As I left the parking lot, the sales manager saw me driving off in it (luckily with a dealer plate) and asked the salesman who told me to take it out why I was driving a customer's car. Lucky for me, the salesman told the manager that I was only trying to get the tire pressure monitor light to turn off. Only 3 PSI low and the light was going off. Plus this customer was being very...picky.

I hate that. I bust my ass trying to get the to car look amazing, and then the customer acts all peeved when it takes a little longer than they expected. Maybe if they didn't track so much dirt into the car it would be done faster. 💡

worst part for new cars is when the customer purchases it and we do our usual delivery cleaning service and either right after or even a day or more later, the customer purchases a simonize and we have to clean it again before applying the glasscoat.

Also this was a year old-ish car sitting on the lot and it had so much dirt inside. X_x

Sorry about the double post. :scared:

Drove another Grand Cherokee Diesel, in a much better color.

And...a Grand Cherokee Black Edition. Or whatever they call this.
