It takes time to make a poll.
That was funny. I almost spelled hole.:)
Great, now I said pole.
Wow. A mod was about to close a thread before I could finish making it.

Poll.

Hilarious.

Note it is still open. I was not "about to close" it.
Hole was funnier.

Well it was funny to me. Why? Because I don't always make errors like that.

Well, Der Alta closed a thread 2 minutes after I created it. I still don't think it should have been closed. It was like the debate competition, but the only judge was Der Alta. Guess who won. Better yet, guess who didn't want another infraction. I still had some defense on my side.

I always liked doing the AH enduro myself. On that poll..the #1 answer for me was "look at how far behind I am" or whatever. I always look how far in the red I am and then I compare different sectors as I race. Like I'll be 8.4xx seconds behind the GT40....and in sector 2 I'll be 8.1xx seconds behind. As long as I'm making that number smaller it's a good thing. :)

I hardly ever spin out but it has happened a few times. Yes, I'll slide across the finish! If I manage to get ahead far enough, I'll even do a few donuts.

Donuts are fun, especially if you change tires 10 laps before the race is over. You spin out easier, so you can do more burnouts. Never bring 4wd cars to the track, juast because they handle better. :)

4-wheel drive cars are okay as long as you make sure the GT40 is in the race and use sports or stock tires instead of racing slicks. If the GT40 isn't there, you can even run a 4-wheel drive kei car and win!

The one I forgot: when ever one of the slower cars comes into sight, I'll floor it! If the GT40 got to him first, I'll even curse a bit because those 3-car moments are what makes an enduro interesting.

It's exciting being behind in the race sometimes, I love a great come back when fearing I might loose, Time to go race, Great post!👍

I agree 👍 If GT had announcers instead of music, you'd hear them commenting: "...oooh that Parnelli isn't gonna make it this time. Three laps to go and looks liike Dan Burny's GT40 is gonna walk with this one."

Then of course the GT40 pits 2 laps before the finish and I take the lead!

Who says enduros are boring? Yeah, there's plenty of time when you're by yourself, but during that time you should be clawing your way round the track trying for the best lap times, trying to catch the leader, not the other way around. Enduros become boring only when you're way in the lead.

usedHONDA have you noticed in GT3 we can no longer fly thru that S-turn lest the sand slow us down? I've even noticed the AI tries sometimes to take the famous GT2 shortcut only to have their speed drop to a crawl in some races. :D

If GT40 exist, what is the weakest car you ever use?

I have a record of using a Mazda AZ-1, and also the Cappucino. That was without the GT40 or NSX of course. Sports tires & semi-racing suspension on the Mazda...not sure what I used on the Cap.

I try stock Subaru Forester and Lotus Elise 190 yesterday (plus FC suspension, normal tire) it surprisingly competitive! The Lotus Elise 190 can even keep trailing GT40 in the beginning.

One of my most memorable Hill experiences was running an AMG Mercedes sedan (a big black heavy car) with no weight reductions and sport tires + semi-racing suspension. I was kinda new to GT2 at the time...I had been playing perhaps 6 months. The whole question was: will I be able to handle the 3400 pound car up against a super-lite 2,200 pound GT40? Or will I spin out every other lap like the AI does :D

And it goes to show the AI is really clueless about braking in that race. I won. It was funny to watch the replay of this Autobahn cruiser going up against the best of late '60s technology lap after lap. :)

best memories of that race.... watching the amg spin out and be stuck there for most of the time haha... using a few awd monsters I created to win it... its a fun race to do... too bad they changed it to the Roadster Endurance in GT3 and then not include it in GT4's Endurance Races.. oh well :grumpy:👎 that's life :dopey: :) 👍 Randy

Yeah, that's so classic! The Merc, Aston Martin, Jag, and Lotus Esprit all are clueless newbie drivers and can't handle the curve. I love it when one of them gets spins into the kitty litter and stalls out (at least it sounds like they're trying to start their car frantically over and over).

Some great cars to do the AH Enduro up against the GT40...my first was the 67 Cougar. It really shows those curves just who's the boss as you can slide it in, get some balance steering, then floor the gas. The '68 Toyota 2000GT is also a sweet ride. Sucahyo I also drove a Forester at some point (I forgot till now).

I remember doing some mega-slides into the hairpin in that Sooby...turning in to the curve early (while the track is still straight) then using the grocery-hauler back to slide the tail out. Then of course the all-wheel drive gets it all back on track! :D

I do most of the above but my classic has to be going straight across the s-bend

I admit I've done it too, though I try not to. When I was in a race at Apricot and I really NEEDed TO WIN, I've driven the S in a line, too. I don't do that as a habit, though. In GT3 , you actually can't drive straight thru there....the sand will snag you. :ouch:

I drive the S-bend in a line as well, but this is when I lose control of my Cobra or 1967 Corvette. @#^&$%#* CARS!

P.S: I know whether I am behind or ahead when I take turns because, in such a long race, you can focus on cornering speeds and lap times. Since there are more laps to run, it is easier to focus on this area.
