Sony's E3 conference starts on July 11th. They're going to reveal Killzone there. And most likely the PSP Slim. And more things will be shown in their conference as well. The reason I'm making this thread is for what you want these "more things" to be, and what you think these "more things" will actually be.

I'll start off:

What I think will happen
  • Sony officially reveals Killzone 2, with a realtime trailer showing off the gameplay. The graphics are about 80% of what was seen in the infamous E3 '05 prerendered trailer. They are some of the best graphics on the PS3.
  • Sony drops the 60GB PS3 price to $499.
  • Hideo Kojima shows another trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4, showing more gameplay, graphical improvements, and confirms that it will be released in Fall '07.
  • Polyphony shows off Gran Turismo 5, confirming details such as the number of cars on track, a pushed back release date, and more. Confirms GT5 Prologue to be released in the following months.
  • Sony announces the ShockAxis, a Sixaxis with rumble.
What I want to happen
  • Sony drops the price of the 60GB PS3 to $449, eventually fading it out in favor of a $499 80GB PS3 with IPTV capabilities.
  • Kojima delays MGS4 to March '08 to implement Home trophies and rumble.
  • Sony announces the ShockAxis with Immersion's next-gen rumble technology. They change the triggers to a concave design. Sony announces a trade-in plan to replace your current Sixaxis' with ShockAxis'.
  • Polyphony puts a new GTHD demo on the PS Store right after the conference.

So yeah, that's an example. I'm sleepy so forgive me if some of this doesn't make sense. :dopey:

But anyway. What do you want to happen?

What I think will happen.

1. Sony drops prices (Like you)
2. Sony announces that GT Mobile is dead in the water
3. GT5 info + push back
4. New PS3 color.

What I want.

1. New 40 GB PS3, around $350
2. GT Mobile release
3. PSP 2 information
4. PS3 Price drop to $450

I want to know when RE5 is coming out. Killzone II, too. GTHD Classic, or GT5 Prologue or what ever the hell the next GT game is going to be called info with a release date and features to expect.

Then, I want a new MGS4 trailer in HD for once. Plus, info about the release date, characters (bosses), new features, weapons, online play and video output. Oh, and I want Konami to finally announce the 360 version so we can put the fanboy flame fest to final rest.

Those of us newly addicted to F1:CE (and the vets of F1 sims too) want to know what the 🤬 is up with the F1 console license situation. All this deafening silence on the topic is now beyond annoying.

What I want to see:

  1. PS3 Pricedrop ($450)
  2. Official GT5 Release Date
  3. Sony Announces the Shockaxis controller

What will probably happen:

  1. PS3 Pricedrop ($500)
  2. Sony Announces Shockaxis controller
  3. PSP2/Slim details announced.

Quite simple, really. It's time to show Microsoft that they're not the only ones that can play the online game. I want them to put ALL of the videos and demos from E3 on the PSN. ALL OF THEM.

Otherwise, pretty much everything that was said up above.

I Agree, they should be made available at least the following Thursday if they can't do it the same day.

I would like too see future updates to the PSN and XMB. I could care less for a slim psp, just one with an ms screen.

You Guys pretty much covered it. But...

I would like to see:

GT5 even a small glimpse or small details of what's in store.
GT1 & 2 PSN downloads
Tourist Trophy 2 (using new GT5 engine)
Killzone 2 gameplay trailer (blowing the old E3 video out of the water better than crisis)

Crysis you mean. I don't care for Crysis. its just (expensive)eye candy slapped onto a plain Jane FPS.

Yeh thats the one, ive seen this running and it looks stunning, and if its anything like the first game I would buy a very expensive pc just for the privilage.

PS3 price drop to $499 or lower means I will snap one up in a hurry. Sixaxis with Rumble should be good too.

That extra $100 is just the breaking point for you fellas, huh? lol

Yeah, I should have mentioned the demos on PSN. That's a great idea.

Heh, looks like Sony is going to show off Killzone 2 at the same time Microsoft is having their conference.

No one wants to pay another $100 for better hardware? Seesh.

What I want from Sony:
  • More independent games on PSN (think Flow)
  • Social networking within the XMB
  • More original first party games (think Lair, Heavenly Sword)
  • Emphasis in online gaming and PSN.
:Turn brain off:
  • G-Police
  • Colony Wars
  • Wipeout
  • Destruction Derby

Oh crap, I spoke too soon. Wipeout HD for PS3.

No one wants to pay another $100 for better hardware? Seesh.

There's only 1 kind of hardware now after Sony dropped the 20GB PS3, which is why I (and others) want a pricedrop.

But, you didn't buy the 20GB?

Didn't buy any PS3 yet, that's why I was sort of pissed when Sony dropped the 20GB because it's more affordable and you're not losing many features. (unlike the X360 20GB vs. X360 core)

You could've put the price of the 20gb in a CD or something and had the extra 100 bucks by now.

Had more people bought the 20GB version I suspect Sony would have continued to offer it, but you can't really blame them for dropping something that wasn't selling well. After all, some sales reports showed that the 60GB version was outselling the 20GB version 10 to 1.

So judging by sales figures, as Solid Lifters and Solid Fro pointed out, most felt the extra $100 was worth it to get the 60GB version. If there is a price drop, it should make it an even better deal.

The reason the 60GB outsold the 20GB 10-to-1 is because that's about the ratio Sony supplied of PS3s to the marketplace. They didn't have 200,000 20GBs and 200,000 60GBs on launch day. It was more realistically 80,000 20GBs and the rest 60GBs.

Besides, it's reasonable Sony produced so few of these 20GBs when estimates show they were losing even more money on those (about $50 more) than with the 60GBs:

Where are you getting these supply figures?

Besides, it's also reasonable that Sony might supply fewer of something that doesn't sell nearly as well.

I know I always saw stacks of 20GB versions on the shelves of my local Best Buy and were having to give rainchecks for the 60GB version, and I know for a fact many others were reporting similar situations around the US before and after Christmas, well before Sony decided to discontinue the 20GB edition.

As far as any official announcement, Sony made it clear the reason was the lack of demand from both retailers and consumers, and there certainly wasn't any outcry from retailers, and very little from consumers which in itself suggests demand certainly wasn't high.

And it's generally estimated about 20% of the launch units were 20GBs. 20% of 400k is 80k.
Well that link only says the total number shipped at launch. However even if we are to assume it was 20% that's still just 5-1 not 10-1, that alone is a significant difference and would account for the why many reported seeing boxes of 20GB editions while the 60GB was on backorder.

If it was about low numbers, then why did I always find a 20GB on the store shelves just before Christmas, but the 60GB version was nowhere to be found?

I had to purchase a 60GB on eBay even though there were plenty of 20GB on the shelves. Because I, most like everybody else, wanted the 60GB version.

What I think will happen :

1. Killzone 2, PSP Lite and Rumble-Axis ofcourse
2. GT5 info and gameplay
3. Monster Hunter info and gameplay
4. New Metal Gear 4 trailer, offline + online gameplay footages
5. Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII gameplay footages
6. Winning Eleven 2008 gameplay

What I hope will happen :

1. ZOE3 announcement
2. Gran Turismo For Boys and Gran Turismo Mobile unveiled
3. Fear Effect Inferno announcement
4. Shin Onimusha V announcement
5. Fatal Frame 4 announcement
6. Enthusia 2 announcement

Silent Hill 5.

And the new controller will not be called the "shockaxis". Just won't happen. Sixaxis is a palindrome, I don't think they'll drop that nifty name for something as corny (and utterly stupid) as "shockaxis".

In fact, I doubt they'll even release or unveil a new controller at E3. If it does happen, it'll be later on in the year, in a private show that Sony will hold.

Winning Eleven 2008 and more games that don't suck or get old.

My best guess is that they will announce a $100 price drop on the PS3 that will take place just before Christmas. They will also announce various other games and probably have some sort of PSN bombshell to try and throw Microsoft for a bit. We will get at least a teaser of GT5, because they always love to show off GT. Then they will make some GT5 promises that later interviews will reveal are goals, not guarantees.

What I hope for is a GT5 gameplay footage showing 20 or more cars with damage modeling and an in-car view. Kaz seemed to be a bit talkative at SGD so I think they may have something cool coming up. Maybe they will even show two guys on seperate systems logging into PSN and racing each other, causing damage, in a full field.

Some form of GT for the PSP whether it be a future PS One game like GT1 or GT2 or an update on GT Mobile. Or my biggest hope of all, remote play for GT5.

GT5 launch date.

A list of new PSN games more like Tekken 5 than the various small games.

Something that will blow us all out of the water that no one saw coming.

I don't think anyone's actually expecting the new controller to be called the "ShockAxis". It's just a tentative name so we don't have to call it "Sixaxis with rumble".
My best guess is that they will announce a $100 price drop on the PS3 that will take place just before Christmas.

Just as an FYI, if Sony would announce a price cut, it'd happen nearly right after that. If they announced a pricecut that would only start in December, they would more or less cannibalize their sales from July to November.
