What graphical improvements do you want for GT5?

I did a search and did not find a thread relating to what graphical improvements we want in the final release, so i have made one.

Please don't turn this into a graphics vs sound vs physics thread as we already have one of those.

I'll start, here are a few things i hope they improve for GT5.

-Improved road textures, cracks, bumps, grainy surface, preferably with paralax occlusion mapping, i like the surface textures in PGR3
-Dirt build up on car and windshield
-Better anti-aliasing
-Smoother shadows, cockpit ones are too blocky
-Heat haze
-Exhaust fumes and backfire
-Reactive tire walls, preferably with round tire, not hexagons
-Less blocky landscapes, too many straight edges on hills, and poor textures especially noticable on high speed ring
-Better, longer lasting smoke plumes, when skidding and burning tyres
-Brighter interiors, too dark, and not all details and textures can be seen clearly
-Sharpness of cockpit guages
-Tyre/skid marks
-Better reflections on car of surrounding objects
-Less dramatic HDR or improved so that back of some cars doesn't looks so bright you can't see much details, espicially on white cars,cars tend to looks better when in shadow, i mean the red F40 looks pink half the time, especially on eiger.
-More realstic hand movements in cockpit, so wheel will turn more than 180 degrees,gets distracting when used with own wheel.
-More camera views, one closer to the car externally, Side of vehicle view and perhaps adjustable seat position in cockpit view.
-Option for head movement eg: when car shakes violently
-Adjustable option for look to apex
-Generally less sterile environment, dirt, leaves, even litter, scuff marks on barriers, general weathering of the environment where appropriate yada yada yada
-Improved colours, and saturation, like for the grass for example
- Improved sky, dynamic volumetric ray traced clouds like warhawk would be nice, as opposed to just a fixed photograph
-Greater draw distance if possible, but unlikely, but possible if they improve LODs
-Sunshafts/rays
-And finally better trees, lol:lol:

I have more but i want to see what you guys have to say.

Lol, I know... he said everything I can personally think of. Everything else is pretty much perfect in GT5. :)

By the way, this will be my first post here. I've been reading everything here for awhile and have decided it's time to post.
 
Yeah it would be nice... but we won't see some of them even on PS4. Not because of lack of power but just because... PD won't do that.

But yeah man, nice stuff you got, I can't think of anything left.
 
Better wind effects like varied gusts in open areas or from high mountains etc.Also everything above.

Nothing, I'm glad with Prologue graphics (considering that all that means more development time...).

Perhaps, reducing HDR will make more realistic look.

+1 for tyre smoke.
If the damage is extensive will we see huge plumes of smoke and fire after an accident ?.Would like to see oil slicks on the cars behind & on the tracks also radiators exploding due to overheating engines.What about slipping clutches, knackerd brakes you know all the wear and tear stuff.

All great, but things like better AA, textures, dirt on track we will not see on this gen consoles ...
I will be happy with skid marks, damage, dynamic weather and day time, backfire.

True mate but I think PD is bullish,they do what they want to do and if they even slightly listened to what we want we would have seen half of the stuff in gt5p in gt4 and same with previous gts.I mean I have seen the same cloud over suzuka overpass for million times,they should have atleast 20 to 30 different pictures so that you can't tell the difference.

I especially agree with the improved smoke, but I think that the dust also needs to be kicked up a level, because at the moment it's weak!
I also agree with the general wear and tear of the circuits, but I'd like to add visible clean and dirty parts of the racetrack, with the clean parts being well rubbered in and the dirty parts being covered in dirt and rubber 'marbles'. I guess that's touching on the physics side of things too though, because I'd like a difference in grip too.
I like the idea of cars getting dirty over time too. It might finally give us a real use for the car wash!

some have been mentioned already. i'm just throwing out what comes to mind...

stonger AA
higher quality interior shadows
smoke/fire/sparks from damage (weather reactive smoke)
back fires
pit-stop liveries
higher resolution rear/side view from cockpit
weather reactive rain and trees, ie gusts of wind
wiper blades for rain
lightning for storms
headlight flashing
live race line (with tire marbles, dirt and rain groove)
destructive barriers and grass (grass/dirt fly up and skid marks)
skid marks and fluid leaks
sun rays
 
Some real AA to straighten out the escalators of jaggies, improved road textures. Other than that, I like it the way it is.
 
See...how can PD live up to all those expectations (and dont even start the "BUT-IT-WAS-5-YEARS"-crap again, as GT5 wasn't/isn't their only project). The next minute someone comes and says the opposite of the things, what he/she thinks would be best.

In the end there will be surely many people disappointed by the game, because noone can create all those things people "demand".
 
just more effects like skidmarks, smoke etc..

I didn't think those were graphics "per se", but features. If we are considering those to be graphics, give me the skid marks for sure. As for smoke, I don't care one way or the other.
 
Truly my only gripe is the anti aliasing. The "jaggies" can be quite distracting at times. Other than that some skid marks when the tires break traction would be nice.
