What have you done to your car today?

Nice! I have essentially the same coilovers on my car. Mine are just the KW's.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Yeah I looked at the KW's but would have had to go for the Clubsports to get the camber plates, which would have cost an extra $1,300. I've essentially ended up with the equivalent of the KW V2 (single adjustable shocks + ride height adjustment) + the camber plates.

I've had a good look over both kits and the hardware is identical expect for galvanised struts vs. stainless steel and all black rear shocks instead of black/silver. Otherwise the shocks themselves, springs, camber plates and adjustable spring perches are straight off the KW shelf

Yeah, I was very close to getting the ST's, but I figured I would get the KW's because we get salted roads in the winter by us.

New sway bars just got delivered and I should be installing them pretty soon!

I was going to buy new headlights for my Impala (almost $200 for the OEM set), because it bothers me that one of the lights is was slightly yellowish and foggy.

But I decided to give this thing a try. Had nothing to lose really. I went for the cheaper one, since there are a bunch of different brands.

Needless to say, I am absolutely mind blown... Saved myself a couple hundred dollars. The headlights look like freaking new. (what seems like a slight haze at middle is actually the reflection of the sky) Hopefully it will last, if not, I'll buy the headlights anyway.

:D

Edit: I should have added that it's passed its MOT with no advisories, that's what the blank sheet of paper is.

So I bought what I thought was giving me my very slight grumbling and metallic singing noise - the axles - only to find out during install that it is actually the half shaft bearing... which is looking like I can only order from Honda themselves, which would take a week. The whole point of all my recent under-car work was to fix all my issues so I have a reliable 4-hour round trip drive to Pikes Peak this weekend. But screw it, I'm going anyway. I need to see those NSXs! Two standard cars competing in two different classes, plus an all-electric version, are you kidding me?! Can't. Friggin. Wait.

But hey, I've got fresh axles now! Working on my car was a snap for once, everything out and in no problem.

Short version
Made a simple job like an oil change involve removing the air resonator, throttle body, then did the oil change.

The long version
Decided to do an oil change today so using some upper engine cleaner(seafoam) from subaru I decided to use it.
All was going fine until I shook the can a little and the little plastic extender hose popped off the spray nozzle, and since it was inserted to the intake manifold and the engine was running at the time, the engine vacuum pulled it in.
I quickly turned off the engine since I did not want any damage to happen(bent valves and who knows what else) I went about to remove the air resonator and throttle body in an attempt to get the little bugger back.
Lucky for me it was just behind the throttle body and did not go down the intake manifold.

Then put everything back on, and proceeded with the oil change which went fine.

I traded in my 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Premium for a 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited.

I miss the engine, but I'm liking the space.

I swear the trunk is the same size as the trunk and backseat of the Genesis and I have more room in the back then I did in the front of the Genesis, feels a little weird not having that sensation of my hair rubbing the roof lol.

+edit
5.2 L/100KM in the city. Nice.

I finally got around to tackling that half shaft bearing. Inspected the brakes during the install, and now I need new pads for the rear, as well as to lube up the seized slider pins back there.

Also got some stuff for my H22 build. A 70a urethane mount for a manual transmission (I have a full kit for an auto, but the wagon I'm after will see track time so I want it to have a clutch), as well as a rear mount bracket that allows clearance for a K-series intake manifold.

Finally got around to hanging my front plate on the M3. Found a company that makes a swiveling bracket that screws into the tow hook, so I picked one up and mounted it. Like the location much better than in the center, and this way I didn't have to drill holes in the bumper ๐Ÿ‘
Plus now it's actually legal, so that's a plus.

(I also got to park in the garage for once, so that's even better :D)

It took three years for me to get pulled over for not having a front plate on my car, and it's been months since. I'm leaving mine off, screw the police... what are they gonna do, shoot me?

So much better than the stock runflats, even though the tires are kinda bottom of the barrel for summer performance rubber (Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500s, long enough of a name?). Little bit of a weird resonance/hum/vibration from them at about 55mph and they're a little noisy loaded up, but there's so much more more than the Bridgestones had. Ride quality is also considerably better despite the fact that they're currently a bit overinflated.

I've had the same tires on mine for about a year now; slightly discounted (but brand new) Craigslist find. They're not doing too bad, but will probably need replacing next spring/early summer. With my suspension mods, I do thoroughly enjoy the corners though.

When did you get the RPF1s? Those things look good on anything!

Ordered the RPF1s and tires through my parts department last Thursday, got them tossed on today. Exact specs are 18x9 ET35 with 245/45s.

Tires were a "well, they're so cheap that even if I hate them they can't be that bad" at something like $72 a corner after shipping and markup. Considering they're not remotely broken in yet they're plenty good enough for the cost. Only expecting to be able to run them for the next 2 months or so and then through next summer.

Finally tracked down and fixed a rattle in the passenger door of the M3 that had been annoying me for a few weeks. Turns out one of the plastic clips had fallen out and lodged itself in a hollow of the frame. New clips and a little sticky around the corners has it solid and vibration free.

Also, my hunt for trunk taillight covers for the 330i goes on. Been trawling craigslist hard and have yet to find a set without the ambering they got in 2002. Might break down and buy some actual new ones just so I can finally get the car up for sale.

Drove the 912 today and noticed the latch for the rear quarter window on the passenger side has broken itself, so I guess that's next on the list... at least that one is in the garage so I don't have to worry about it leaking!

I love RPF1s, been contemplating a swap from my SP1s for a while now. They would clear bigger brakes too.

In other news I spent the day in my shed, which made it a good day. Got the braided hoses made and installed, turbo back on and a few other small bits and pieces, getting closer to being able to fire it up again.

Resuming the trend of headlight restoration

Was about 10 dollars but the look almost new, will wait and see how they last.

Happy with the car's exterior aside from an annoying crack, will probably just buy new bumpers in the winter
