Uh...hello? The X2010 is by FAR the best to "enjoy" AND use in this race on both A & B-spec.
You must win the race to get the R8. It's Definitely worth it in my opinion.
I used the jaguar xj and gold chromed it after the win

I did it with the Nismo 380RS Super Leggera.
Tried it out in the Tuners Championship to see if it was a lot slower than the S2000 GT1 Turbo. I didn't like the understeer on Suzuka, but added ECU and Filter and used the 4hr race to try the car on the Ring.
Much to my surprise, the 380RS handled the track great, riding the kerbs with ease and turning much easier than on the racing circuit. The GT1 Turbo wasn't in the lineup so I made a bolt for it. I won the Audi and got to bed about three hours later than I'd planned.

What tyres did you used?
Man,this thread turned into a "novel",quite a read but some great input here!I'm going to do the 4 hour this weekend and was looking for a challenging car to try it in so I'm thinking I'm going to give the (don't laugh) Ginetta G4 with the "full tune" a try...under 500kg weight and 277hp on racing hards,if that fails I can always use the Falken Skyline or the BMW M3 GTR!
Earlier today,(Thursday) I won the B-Spec Historic race using the Toyota 7 and finally got the '65 Alfa TZ2 Zagato that I've been lusting after since I got the game on release day....only trouble is I won it in a "sub-account"....S**T! When I won the series in my main account it gave me some crappy azzed junk I don't even remember now but of course it gave me the car I really wanted to use for the 4 hour race at the 'ring in a sub-account that is'nt even close to the level to run that race!Ah well, back to grinding credits for the main account so I can buy the damn thing!
Here's what I've decided to use!
I used the Nissan Falken R34gtr race car.
It was built for the Nurburgring 24hr race so I thought it'd be appropriate to do the 4hr race too, a bit like ''taking it home''..
(I love nostalgia)..
It might not be the fastest in out and out lap time, but what I found out about this car is that it's totally relentless..
If you put a wheel, or two, or three or four (!!) on the grass - it keeps going.
Bang the kerbs hard - it keeps going
Tyres wearing out - it keeps going
Basically, it's unstoppable, apart from the pit stops all of my lap times were within 10-15 seconds of each other. I didn't spin, crash, roll over or come to a stop once (other than scheduled pit stop).
This is what you need for an endurance race. Before the race I liked the car, after the race I loved the car. It was the only endurance race I've really enjoyed so far, and didn't have a sense of utter relief when crossing the finish line.

Last car I ran it in was the Premium Civic Saloon @ about 450pp.
Sure the fronts (racing med) only lasted 3 laps but it was touch & go for a while.
Trouble with this race is that the AI makes bad pit decisions, often staying out on tyres already run ragged. Plus,it always tops the tank up, and therefore runs too heavy (assuming fuel weighs anything in GT5 - it certainly feels that way to me)
I did the 4hour event with a newly aquired Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car (or was it road car?) It was painted all red with decals, and such.
I took it on stock settings, equipped it with sport soft, and racing hards, safe avg laps of 8:45s, best 8:30s, but I never raced hard. Tire wear was awful on this car, or is it like this on every car? I pit every 2 laps for tire change, because this car is dangerous on tires past a quarter wear. Best handling was with fuel at a quarter tank.
Driving this car on sport softs felt like an absolute nono
Overall , great handling, 8.8/10, might do again tuned.
Notes, this car gives rock solid confidence on the long right turn, which then leads to the first Carousel.
