After GT6 realease i want to put my GT5 100%. Im doing now the 24h Le Mans and next im gonna do 24h Nurburgring. But the problem is, i dont like this genre of cars like de 908 HDI, Mazda 787B, Audi R10... i like more GT Cars, but i think if i use one of that cars i cant win. I love Nissan GT-R and i have differents GT-R, some specials like the GT Academy version, tha Kaz car who won the 24h Nurburgring. And i love R8 and i have some to. So, what is the best car to win this race?

I've heard the R35 TC is a good idea if it starts raining. AWD is superior in wet weather, compared to the RWD prototypes. Also, you can tune the car to over 900 horsepower. This gives you a lot of room to work with. If you aren't that great of a racer and would like it to be easier on yourself, put the horsepower up higher. If you are very experienced and want to give yourself a challenge, race at a lower horsepower range.

The R35 TC is a DLC car, unfortunately :(

However, I guess the Schulze Motorsport GTR could work... not sure if it would be competitive against the prototypes though, and remember that you shouldn't rely on heavy rain to win the event...

That car i have. The R35 TC are on GT Academy version of the game?

The correct answer is: Your personally most enjoyable care which can keep up with the AI.

I just finished the Nurb 24hr with the BMW McLaren F1 Race Car and I totally enjoyed it, even in the rain. Race with a car you love to drive and with a deep throaty (:dopey:) engine sound and you'll be fine :)

Note: Even at 100% wet track, intermediates provided significantly more grip than the wet tires, significantly! I'm unsure if this is true for other cars though.

Every car, every A-Spec race. Race Softs are even faster but I'm not sure about the other racing compounds. Wet tires are only advantageous if "Grip Reduction" is set to Real which doesn't happen in A-Spec(or probably B-Spec).

Totally off-topic of me: But thanks for answering my side note buddy :D

It is totally annoying when you pit in the 24hr race and it defaults to wet tires during the rains: I pit immediately again :P

I used a Gillett Vertigo - And it was raining. Very demanding and hard work to control on wet tyres with no traction control... It wasn't too twitchy with no ABS.

I'd pick a car that you really enjoy to drive... you'll be in it for 24 hours, so don't put a bet that it will grow on you.

Tyres - take a full range.
It is faster to "Sprint" on Softs than to drive longer stints on Mediums or Hards... But you can opt for these realistic compounds if you are running away with the race.
- Or you can swap to the softer tyres if you need to make up time.

Drive the car first - If you can live with the engine note then go for it... Last thing you need is a car with a badly balanced washing machine of an engine note.

Boa sorte!

I used the AUDI R10 TDI RACE CAR '06. You need a good set up on this one but it is a premium car, so you can race with cockpit view and even if it rains it wont bother you because it does not have glass windshield.

We did average laps of 7:40 to 8:00 but my brother did the fastest lap with 7:28.9

2 drivers. 175 laps. 58 pit stops, Driver change every 3 pitstops (9 laps),

1st place.

The 2nd place was lapped 4 times.

We used a race control on excell and never used pause.

Amazing experience

I also recommend you some previous testing time.

The problem here is i dont like prototypes cars, i like normal cars like GT-R, Audi R8, Lexus LFA... I dont know if its possible win using this normal cars.

Well then, there is the Minolta that has about 900HP and is super light for it's class. It's even better than the crappy Escudo, which has a limited top speed of 240MPH.

How about the Mclaren F1 (not the race car)? Fully decked out of course 👍

These suggestions are not "normal" cars that Max appears to be requesting.

I did the 24H of Nürburgring in the Petronas Tom's Lexus SC430. It was great fun, but not strictly by the book, as I used skid recovery force to compensate for the advantage of the prototypes. By the end, when it stopped raining, I also had to cut some corners to stay ahead of the pack...

Someone suggested the RX-7 TC (DLC) which could be an option. the 24h Nurb is the last race i have to do, and i also don't really like the LM cars etc.

Corvette ZR1 RM.

Beast of a car, great sound, great performance and fun to drive. And it looks great. :P

If you can handle this tail happy monster, it'll be a good car to do the 24hr Nurb.

Slightly off topic but I need to do both 24 hour races but I'm not sure how to mid-race save. I do have the spec 2.0 update, is there like, a certain time it lets you save or something?

When you enter the pits, there is a Suspend option.

It'll save your progress, and the next time you boot up the game, you will continue from where you left.

Then why do THEY refer RM and race cars?

I capitalized the word "they", simply because the wrong cars are be referred by numerous people, the OP is looking for GT, grand touring cars.

i like more GT Cars, but i think if i use one of that cars i cant win.

I recommend the the E190 Mercedes Touring car, yes it will be under powered, but it's lack of power and amazing handling should make up the time that the gas hungry / tire eating Le Mans cars spend in the pit.

The thread creator has indicated what he is looking for and it appears it is street/road cars like the ones mentioned above. Everyone else covered under "they" are not the one who asked the question :embarrassed:

Max, happy to be corrected if the above is wrong.👍

And what about the BMW F1 race car, if I'm not mistaken?

I never suggested it to answer the thread creator, but I did contribute to the thread by stating which car I completed the marathon with which happen to be this car. I'm not attacking you buddy... just trying to assist the thread creator.👍

Someone suggested the RX-7 TC (DLC) which could be an option. the 24h Nurb is the last race i have to do, and i also don't really like the LM cars etc.

I did the Race with a RX-7 TC, only some minor set up tweaks, no additional parts. I used Racing Hards, Intermediates and Heavy Rain tyres only. Aids where limited to ABS1 and I only used cockpit view during the race.

My times averaged around 8:22, which was slower than the Competing Audi and Peugeot, however I did one stop less every 5 stops they did, which meant I could lose ~56seconds each stint.

Including spins and other mistakes, I finished 31seconds ahead of second place, sometimes having to block the Audi on the long straight (otherwise I tried to stay clean). The rain bug also occured a few times on loading, but I never tried to force it through reloads.

I only had two hours worth of rain during midnight, during that period I gained about 20 seconds a lap on second.

I would only suggest the RX-7 TC if you are very familiar with the track and can repeatably pull off fast times. Quickest laps in dry condition was 8:06 I think. I've listed my GT Academy times in the Sig so one can rationalize/compare if the RX-7 makes sense to use. I'm not the fastest around but thought it was a very good challenge that had me sweating the entire 24H.

The GTR R35 TC should be a good choice for the average driver.
I would have loved to do it in the R8 LMS but standards don't have the nice headlights. The visibility wasn't something I wanted to risk midnight+rain

The Furai, GT40 05 perhaps, Ford Australia Race Car (awesome sound btw) not sure if it has lights though. These cars come to mind which I plan to try soon on 1 of my accounts.
