What is the best track to test cars?

Try Deep Forest, or if you have the 1st DLC track Spa-Francorchamps! 👍
Great tracks for testing cars in my opinion.
 
I'll second Deep Forest! Plenty of braking & curves, elevation changes, plus a long straightaway.

It's been a fave of mine since GT1!
 
Deep forest was for me. But I guess now the trick would be to test at a seasonal event just to get truck loads of cash and prizes and suchlike.
 
I only drive on one track most of the time, so I tune my selections for it. Nurburgring 24hr time change track.
I may try Deep Forest and Trial Mountain for a diversion. (when seasonals come)
 
That quote sounds bad, but even a race where you get 12th place will get you "Oil change" money.
 
Nurburgring works the best to test cars in my opinion, considering it has all kinds of turns and bumps you can expose a car to. Also the road is pretty narrow, so you get to detect any understeer/oversteer quite fast.

If you just started manual and limited aids, still try Nurburgring but with a slower car, like the BMW Z4, or the Golf GTi. 👍
 
Depends. If you want 0-60 and top speed to route x. If unavailable to use that try SSR7. If you want both cornering and accl' try Nurburging.
 
I generally tune my cars for Nurb Nord. If I can keep it on the rails there, its pretty much good to go. Deep Forest and Laguna Seca are good too IMO. Although if I'm tuning for drift, Autumn Ring Mini all day!
 
The only track that I test on is the tracks that I will be racing on.

For me, there is not a "Best" track to test on.
 
A Short lap track will give you faster and more telling feedback

- make a mistake (ha!) at DFR (Deep Forest Raceway) and it is a 80-90 second loss of time... at Nurby you have to scratch 7-8 minutes.

If you test at a simple track you are less inclined to make a silly error, so the lap time tends to be more chassis and set up dependent.

At Nurby, the difficulty is such that you may well find yourself improving you own lapping technique... but you put it down to the car's set up.

I suppose the question is how many laps does it take you to become a black belt in Nurburg-jitsu.

I use Tsukuba as a test circuit because you can compare lap times very quickly.
Adjust the setup, go on track and 1 minute later you will know the difference.

Also it has tight corners and the one long one before the finish, ideal balance for me.
 
I always use Monza for some reason. The chicanes test the high speed breaking and slow speed cornering, the Lesmo's test the middle speed and the Ascari high speed change of direction.

I find tetsing at the Nurb falsely leads me to belive my set-up is too understeery, yet the same set up is often very pointy on almost every other circuit.
