I see a few people asking for zero mileage cars why? what is the point of having a car with zero mileage

sorry if this is sounding a bit thick but I just don't understand, there just computer generated images , you cant take them anywhere or do anything with them there not real

this is a driving game you get cars the play with and drive around with, not knocking anything here I just don't understand.

If you have a car that your never going to use on GT5 what is the point of having it?

0 changes to make sure you didnt add any mods to it.... Also a 0 mile car with an oil change has a higher stock BHP then a car with 1 mile an an oil change

But whats the point if your never going to use it? if your never going to race it or use it can have 100% more bhp so what ?

I still don't get it these are not real I understand people in real life buying a car as an investment park it never use it sell it a few years later make money or park it in a museum for others to look at but we are talking real cars.

I don't get it either. And the 0-mile traders have totally overflooded the marketplace, so us non-dupers are being left out.

Wrong. Engines will break-in after a certain number of miles, which means that a car with a few miles on it will have more power than one with 0 miles. That said, it's safe to say a car with 1 mile on it will have exactly the same BHP as one with 0 miles. ;)

It's just a collectors 'feature'. Like toys in their original packaging. ;)

It's just a method for dupers to attach value to cars, since trading is more like handing out flyers than trading cars now. It's just a matter of time before someone has a full garage of every car with 0 miles (it's doable, with a lot of effort), I wonder what the false value will be then? The paint?

go but 2 of the same car... first one do an oil change then drive ... second drive then do an oil change.. the first one will have a high BHP. Do 3 laps on indy as the test drive

Yeah I get that, but in time they are worth real money, but we are talking a game and the cars are not real , having a game garage full of zero mileage cars is pointless , they are not real not worth money , you don't use them therefore what is the point of having them? you buy a game to play , no I still don't understand

Exactly.

You are right about toys being worth money in time if they're still in the original packaging, however you are missing the point of collecting them if you're just waiting for their value to go up with time. The reason they go up in value is because real collectors (as oppose to investors) find them more valuable. If there wasn't a real collector as an 'end user', then there would be no value attached to items being in their original condition.
In the game, I really have three seperate garages; one is my driving (tuned) garage, one is my driving (stock) garage, and the third is my 'museum'. All the cars in the game (once I have them all, that is; 23 more to go) have a 'museum' piece, which would be the lowest mileage iteration I own (not always zero miles, but that's an added bonus). Only the cars I like would have a stock driver, and only the cars I love would have both a stock driver and a tuned driver.
I hope this is a good explanation.

I have no idea! I've literally seen people ask "Has it been sat in?" Of course it hasn't you d***head! They are pixels! Not real cars!

I totally agree with OP. If you wont use them then don't do any trading on those 0 mileage 0 switches as it is the same as the cars on our Dealership. It is all the time there parked and no dust- we all got them. Hey, does other countries do the same? I don't think so as "america" collects anything... anything, even half eaten hamburger by so and so..
just my 2cents.

Guess my Vettle X2010 with 30,000 miles on it isn't worth much then :) With an engine rebuild it still has the same exact HP as it did the day I got it, once I break it back in.

I wouldn't do it personally but I can understand why they might collect these cars, its just a new way to play the game I guess.

The only reason any cars I have may have 0 miles is because i don't care to drive them. Otherwise rare or not I beat the wheels off everything I like.

I'm with the OP.

I don't get it at all. I'll trade for a 0 mile car the EXACT same that I would trade for a 10,000 mile car that had just been rebuilt.

I think its insane too. Every time I go to the marketplace looking for a car I get them asking if my Camaro / CTO is 0 miles and what colour it is.

No kidding.......what color is it? What a joke. Paint the damn thing if you don't like the color.

I can understand about a car being "un-tuned" though.

if you have km on an engine the hp will go up by a large margin. i had a few stock cars that started around 850hp. since ive driven them the hp is now at 892hp. having a 0 km car is only cool if you are collecting cars by your self. any car that was rewarded as a prize will have 0 km on it only cars bought through the used cars will have km on the engine. and thats a good thing

While I can somewhat see the point of having zero miles, it's quite stupid, and when it comes to standard cars, it points you out as an exploit-ist.

Then you have the idiots who want cars that aren't sat in or gotten into or whatever the term is. THOSE are your definite nerds.

Cars are meant to be driven, especially in video games. Sure, you could collect them for museum purposes, but why trade for them then? Too lazy to exploit a glitch yourself?

zero mile cars are only useful for trading purposes, ie some people prefer 0 miles cars, you dont get anyone saying no zero miles please

Maybe they should... with all these people going to the marketplace and getting discouraged by all the "0 for 0" threads (and subsequently coming over to Q&A to make threads about it)... may be it would be a breath of fresh air to them to see some "High mileage only" threads.

What I don't get is why everyone seems so annoyed about the 0 miles subject. There's been loads of different threads on this same topic in just the last 2 days. I like to have cars sent to me with 0 miles, I don't care about number of changes or anything as IMO that is completely irrelevant. 0 mile cars are easier to trade as people are sure of the performance that the car will have. And for some people who like to sell their cars on for cash it is very relevant as, just like in real life 0 miles are worth more.

0.00 miles cars = 1 million miles cars to me (in GT5)
It's a virtual car, who cares about mods and mileage...(mods are removable)...
