What is the rarest car in the game?

I thought the Lister Storm V12 race car was pretty rare. I've only seen it one time in the used car dealership, even with having more than 800 game days.

Update on the quest for the red Audi R8 '01;

I almost threw the controller on the floor and wept in silent rage; while using the gt5cars.net engine to tell me when the Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint Speciale '63 would show up... I didn't bother to check for the R8.

Case in point, when I go in to check to see if I did the days right... lo and behold, there the R8 is, on the last day in the UCD and without the needed funds to buy it... (meaning I couldn't do an event to get the remaining money I needed.)

Apparently... the site is telling me that in another 230 game days... another red one will show up. Well, time to play the waiting game...

im looking for chrome line, stealth, and edge cars anyone willing to add and share online for a legit perma borrow?

You can't do a "legit perma borrow" on them? DLC cars cannot be borrowed, ever! It won't work!!

Only codes will get you those cars.👍

lame, pardon my newness is there a way of getting said codes?

The Edge Camaro codes are long expired so, no luck there.. Chrome and stealth line codes I'm not 100% sure about.:scared:.. I think the North American codes have expired too? But like I said, I'm not sure 100% on that.. They were being sold on E-Bay for real money some time back.

I'd have to say the Lister Storm V12 Race Car.

I've never seen it before, online once, but not once in the UCD, and I've nearly had the game for a year, and of course, I check the UCD constantly.

I am beyond day 2,500 and I have yet to see the Lister Storm :(

xR3
I have 1, found it after passing less than 100 game days
I have seen this car twice through my 951 game days.

Day 28 with 575 km, 602 PP, 1,994,250 credits.
Day 606 with 7,174 km, 601 PP, 1,928,260 credits.

Need to get it when you can. I haven't seen it in the online dealerships at all.

You can check your save file for the amount of days that you've played. Each time you race it's one day.

By far the rarest I've seen is the Storm V12. Was racing in a GT1 lobby just an hour ago and when the host gave us a list, the storm wasn't on there. Luckily I have one, pretty disappointed in it too; 1450kg in a race car. Yikes

The rarest car in GT5 is the one you currently really really want from the used lot once you have the money for it.

im with that was after a march k11 for 3 months sine i finally got one now i have 3 cause there everywhere

To be really nit-picky about it, the Nissan 370Z GT Academy Tuned Car '08 would technically be the rarest. Regardless of it being premium, you can't buy one and you can only receive it from a level 12 ticket or a 1000 ticket. From what I read it is possible to gift one though.

There seem to be so many that I haven't seen for ages- the Cizeta V16T, Cadillac Cien, all of the German Touring Cars, Nissan R92CP, etc.

The game uses an algorithm to determine what and when cars are displayed in the Used Car Dealership.

Use this site (http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/new) and you'll be able to find out exactly when a specific car will become available to you and what cars are coming up in the future (or what cars you've missed) so you can plan out having enough money to purchase said car(s). Not only does it tell what cars but also tells you how much they'll cost, how many miles/km on them, and even their rarity. I keep two tabs pinned in Firefox that're kept up to date with my two games of GT5 so I always know what's coming up. That said I'm still some 448 (1236 on my GTP account) days away from my Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI #8 '93 touring car on my main account. :(

PS: You need to put in the first 8 cars from the UCD for the site to determine where you are in the UCD car rotation. If you keep the link pinned or bookmarked and updated every time you're done playing you'll never have to enter those first 8 cars again. For example here are my two links:

http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/49300002
and
http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/2020002

What you are saying then, is that the UCD in GT5 is not random.

Or is randomness factored into the algorithm? As many people say the lists don't match theirs, as say that do.

I would think it is in no way as predictable as the cycling of cars in GT4's UCDs.
In fact I may be even led to believe (at near 6000 Gamedays - on one account) that GT5's UCD is not 100% predictable.

The stars remain the same. Comets come and go.

I have two separate games of GT5 and both lists are predicted exactly as they show up in my UCD. My friends that are using the predictor are getting exactly the cars that are predicted with the site I listed. I don't know what to tell you beyond that. It's easy to miss a car in the UCD even when you're vigilant. The other day I looked at the list two or three times looking for something specific and didn't even notice until I was leaving the dealership that I didn't have one of the cars checked. One gets distracted at times and sometimes you get tunnel vision and miss what's right in front of you. Sometimes you get stuck on a race and do it many times over to get that 1st place finish. Every time you finish a race a "day" passes and the UCD is incremented by by one set (three lines of cars) and the UCD only holds 5 sets (15 lines or 30 cars.) One race too many and you've missed 6 cars as the bottom three lines are pushed off the list. Five completed races and the entire UCD is refreshed.

The only other things I can think of is that maybe after X number of days another variable is entered into the algorithm to increase/change the randomness of the UCD. Maybe when the number of days exceeds 999 or something like that. Maybe getting a car from another region in trade alters the algorithm. Or maybe region encoding has something to do with the UCD calculation. It could also be that if a save file is edited or the player receives a hacked car (or glitch gotten car) in trade that the algorithm gets broken. Not accusing anyone of cheating, btw, just saying it's possible.

Absolutely . . . these thoughts of yours have also crossed my mind. 👍

Something fishy going on here.
But we'll crack it. GTPlanet has no shortage of know-it-alls. And we'll know it all before GT6. I think. I hope, anyway.

AFAIK - from playing the game, of course, is that there are shenanigans afoot in the Used Car Dealership. Justin needs to be watched carefully.

Sometimes I wonder if Kaz did use some sort of Fuzzy Logic in the programming, but then again . . . the PS3 is not exactly a Cray.

All depends whether your knowledge elicits a grimace or a smile; it's a matter of social intelligence, I guess.

However - I think we should gather a bunch of people (I'll be willing to participate, too, and I'm sure you will) and try to test out this 'theory of pattern' that has been given to the GT5 UCD. This has to be a controlled experiment involving a test group under controlled circumstances - not just one guy cycling through his UCD.
If everybody gets an identical pattern - then - yes - it's not random.
If there are descrepencies - then we should find out what altered the pattern.

The fgt is on the ocd every time so its not rare I would say caterham 7 fireblade
