I was surprised to see that PD changed GTPSPs default control layout. I changed mine back to the usual which I used on a PSP3000 and my PSPGO:

x : gas
square : brake
triangle : reverse
O : ebrake
L : downshift
R : upshift
dpad up : rear view
dpad down : toggle ghost
select : view change
start : pause

I just wanted to know what everyone was using for there control scheme since I know some people find the new layout a little too unusual.

What is your control layout?
What type of PSP do you have?

I'm using the Project Gotham layout, PSP 3000.

[ ]: downshift
O: upshift
^: reverse
x: handbrake
L1: brake
R1: gas
select: change view
nub: steering
digital up: ghost
digital down: look back

Mines exactly the same except that I have down as rear view and up as ghost. Good call on the R / L shifters, Up / Down is unnatural

x : gas
square : brake
triangle : reverse
O : ebrake
L : downshift
R : upshift
dpad up : toggle ghost
dpad down : rear view
select : view change
start : pause

Used D-pad to steer, but noticed that with faster cars its better to use the analog nub :)

x : ebrake
square : downshift
triangle : upshift
O : reverse
L : brake
R : gas
dpad up : none
dpad down : none
dpad left/right : steering

select : view change
start : pause

PSP-1002

Default, I use D pad for steer (left/right) and for shifting gears (up/down).

X : gas
¤ : brake
triangle : reverse
O : ebrake
L : downshift
R : upshift
dpad up : toggle ghost
dpad down : rear view
select : view change
start : pause

using dpad to steer :)

R: Accelerate
L: Brake
X: Look Back
/_\: Reverse
[]: Ghost
O: Handbrake
Up:Shift Down
Down: Shift Up
Start: Pause
Select: View

I use d-pad to steer.

I changed mine as soon as the game loaded up the first time-
x : gas
square : brake
triangle : reverse
O : ebrake
L1 : downshift
R1 : upshift
dpad up : ghost
dpad down : rear veiw
select : view change
start : pause
nub: steering

:)

i changed mine from default to

square: downshift
Triangle: reverse
O: ebrake
L1: Brake
R1: Throttle (gas)
dpad up: ghost
dpad down: rear view
dpad left/right: steering
select: change view

analogue stick: steering

R: Accelerate
L: Brake
X: Look Back
/_\: Reverse
[]: Ghost
O: Handbrake
Up:Shift Down
Down: Shift Up
Start: Pause
Select: View

I use d-pad to steer.

This one apart from I use the nub, doesn't matter about gear shift button's because I have no idea how how you can drive manual on this game? :scared:

D-pad to steer. It's the same setup I used for GT1.

I use a PSP-3000

x-gas
[ ]-brake
O- e-brake
/\ -reverse
R-shift up
L- shift down
D-pad down- rear view
nub- steer
sel- change view

that is my layout

It's freakin' easy driving manual in this game! The warning light flashes when it's time to shift up, and every time a corner approaches, the gear display shows an additional number telling you what gear you should be in for that corner, which also flashes if you're approaching the corner too fast. I NEVER driven manual in ANY game before, except rally games which have a wider margin of error when it comes to gear shifting, but I'm getting the hang of MT in this game. Now I'm not sure if this system exist in real cars because I'm still too young to drive, but there's no way of turning it off in this game.

Well some cars do come with shifter lights, most come with a rev counter and on some cars like my old car you just have to judge when to change gear by engine noise. I don't think a device that tells you what gear to be in for the next corner is feasible in real life.

PSP-1000:

X: reverse
square: gas
triangle: brake
O: ebrake
L1: downshift
L2: upshift
dpad up: ghost
dpad down: rear view
dpad left/right: steering
select: change view
start: pause
analogue stick: steering

I put the gas on square. Since you push this almost all of the time I thought to put this in the most comfortable position for me an then put the brakes on the nearest buttons. Works fantastic and no sore fingers at all!

Standard Layout

X is my Accelerator
Square is my Brake
Triangle is reverse
Handbrake is R
Rear camera is L
with direction being controlled by ethier d-pad or analouge stick (Prefer the Astick it's easier to control cars with at high speed)

L1 - change view
R1 - gas
D_pad Up - steer left
D_pad Dn - brake
D_pad L - upshift
D_pad R - pause
▲ - ghost
■ - steer right
● - n/a
x - rear view
Select - E brake

Takes some getting used to, but I wanted to challenge myself...

L- Brake
R- Gas
Triangle- Change View
X- Emergency Brake
Dpad Up- Shift up
Dpad Down- Shift down
Dpad right- Steer Right
Dpad left- Steer Left
( i prefer using automatic transmission, but when im extremely bored, manual is the way to go :D)
(I also prefer using the analogue stick to steer, i find it more responive

I use PSP-3000 :

R- Gas
L- Brake
X- shift up
[ ]- shift down
O- e-brake
/\ - rear view
D-pad down- change view
D-pad up - ghost
select - reverse

L: Down Shift
R: Up Shift
Analog Nub: Steering
D-Pad Left: Turn Left
D-Pad Right: Turn Right
D-Pad Down: Rear View
D-Pad Up: Ghost
X: Accelerate
Square: Brake
Circle: E-Brake
Triangle: Reverse

I couldn't deal with using the D Pad for shifting, specially when attempting to drift, I would accidentally change gears or such, it's so much more comfy using the shoulder buttons to shift.

R: E-Brake
Analog Nub: Steering
X: Accelerate
Square: Brake
Triangle: Reverse

Still havent adapted to a manual tranmission car with the PSP controller setup, i probably will have to change it around all over again.
