I'm still banking on a Daytona race to coincide with the real one this weekend.
As cool as that would be, not getting my hopes up for it. Its a miracle we even have a Time Trial that's sorta/kinda doing that.

No, your eyes do not deceive - but it's a different layout...

Now that a season of Nations Cup is upon us, these will have to wait until after Saturday's race for me.

Can't say I'm all that thrilled about the Jimny race, but the rest look okay. And credit tickets, too! Yay!

That livery was created for the historical races because they cannot use Rothmans because it is a cigarette brand. The livery on my cars are authentic for the original time they raced.
Same thing on the Jaguar, Silk Cut = cigarettes, therefore cannot use the original livery in game.
Any car of the past that had liveries with cigarettes or liquor sponsors had to be changed for the game.

Do you have your liveries available for download in the showcase area of the game?

And even with that besides, the font and placement of "Racing" at the front is completely different on the 2 pics posted.

Just so you know, this isn't actually true. The cars absolutely ran, in-era, with the Racing Porsche livery. I think the one in the game is the 1986 Nurburgring 1000km.

I finished all of these days ago but just posting them now before everyone transitions to the new challenges.

Race 1: European Sunday Cup 400 - Sardegna

I put mild upgrades on this car. Didn't pass the Huracan until towards the end of the final lap, so it was really close.

For my 6-star ticket, I received a Chaparral VGT, which I kept since I didn't own it.

Except as proven by those pics, the "Racing" Porsche 962Cs existed well before the Historical Races. Its exactly like how the JPS Lotus actually raced in Period without the JPS logos.

Point is though that the car having "Racing" in place of "Rothmans" is real. It actually raced, making it far from being "Fake".

Damn pissed today .
Reading about tomorrow upcoming weeklies try to prepare a car for GV 10 laps race .
Can't won ( Normal mod ) but at least can be second or third .
Did 3 races with mazda LM55 ,try different configuration on power, try different fuel map not to stop but zero chance of win it😵‍💫 .
The car in front doesn't make pitstop and with penalties involved and some errors here and there the best i could was 5 seconds behind the leader.
Damn Gr1 , not my cup of tea with this crazy rhythm at that pp range.
Just hope to be on podium with first try tomorrow and forget it .

I just can't bring myself to even do the weekly challenges half the time. The races tend to repeat the same formats and prizes are meagre. If they upped the prize money to a couple of million for completion, it may sway me.

Do you have a Red Bull X2019? It is capable of winning Gr.1 races on normal difficulty. I find it easier to drive than the Gr. C machines because it's not even necessary to drive it at full send.

Different layout (long vs short-reverse), same payout (35,000 Cr.), more distance (and presumably time; it's not Friday where I am yet) racing (3 laps for both, 11.082 km plus/minus run-up/cool-down/racing line selection for the Special Event, 7.731 km plus/minus run-up/cool-down/racing line selection for the regular Jimny Cup).

The only lower-paying Special Events were the Renault R4 event at the Catalunya rallycross track (30,000 Cr., took an unclean 3:16 on normal difficulty with a tuned R4), the Colorado Springs Renault R4 event (32,000 Cr., took 3:35 though I think that one was clean and, other than dirt tires, stock), Tokyo Expressway Tesla Model 3 event (27,000 Cr., done in 3:00 stock/clean), and the Alsace Fiat 500F one-off (2,500 Cr., done in roughly 2:57 stock/clean). The Blue Moon Bay Tesla Model 3 event also paid out only a base 35,000 Cr. (done in 4:07 stock/clean)

Time to figure out what cars to use. Given the Frustration the GR.1 events in general have given me, I'm likely turning the difficulty down as I STILL don't have the GR010. Only reason I could do Daytona was because the Genesis VGT was overpowered (AND massively understeery, but still) and Road Atlanta came purely down to a combination of the AI overbreaking (Turns 1, 10A & 10B as well as 11 and 12) as well as some strategic fuel saving in the TS030, on the hardest difficulty.

Checked my video archive and I finished in 3rd in that Gr.1 race about 8 months ago in an SF19 or 23. lol This could be a toughie.

I tested out my SF19 Toyota at 934pp with RM tires at Grand Valley. It can easily be won in this car on hard difficulty. I was lapping 1:35’s in the car.

Compared to a Gr.1 car, the SF19 has absolutely no steering feel, but it’s ability to brake in to the corners gives you amazing passing ability on the Gr.1 cars. It also dominates the mid section of the track vs the Gr.1 machines.

Edit: I took a look at the replay and Wong boxed at the beginning of lap 10 to change his tires. He still had half of his tire life left with one lap to go and 1/4 tank of fuel. He was 6 seconds ahead of me going in to the final lap before he pitted. So I feel like I didn’t really win cleanly. I really only should have got 2nd place but because of his stupidity I got 1st.

Well at least I got the CRB as well, so 240k credits.

Not the most inspiring week but still had fun with it. FR challenge is good fun with it getting dark and they're not super fast so you can go for lower PP cars and still win. European Clubman Cup will probably be where people struggle if they try to stay around 600 PP given Gallo has the nuclear Alfa again, I was fortunate with the Murciélago because the field was slow so I ended up winning quite easily, could've been in something quite a bit slower. Annoying thing tends to be in GT7 that if you go in a slow car the field is fast, then you swap to something faster and they drive 2 seconds a lap slower. Jimny race was tedious even in a tuned car, should really be on a shorter version of the track. Historic Sports Car Masters was probably the highlight for me, ran a Daytona in race spec on SH and had several laps of sliding it around and just generally having a ton of fun. First time I've had it rain too, didn't last long but added some atmosphere. The Gr.1 race can be hit and miss with how the AI does their strategy, I had the 908 pit with a lap to go when he had enough fuel and tyres to easily make it which seemed a little weird. I was running the LM55 VGT Gr.1 which seems to be extremely quick and light on fuel and tyres, still pitted but was running 1:32-33 on RM to take a pretty easy win. Fun car to drive but I still hate that version of Grand Valley, even more now after playing through GT4 Spec II.

Cars for this week:
