that's exactly what i do. don't even use the blur effect. i'm actually sick of messing around with the FOV now, used all sorts of settings, now settled on 75 i think. although i have mapped my chair controls to the d-pad so can manually move back and forth and even raise the seat up if i'm having trouble seeing corners. i love that we can do this!
I have my FoV at 60. Seat movement is a bit restricted though, in AC you can move it a lot more.
But yes, the helmet cam without helmet, look to apex and no blur is what i use too :)

One online race last night gt3 round silverstone 5 laps only 5 racing but we were all chopping and changing and coming to the last corner we were still close, there was only 0.5 seconds between us. Heart pumping sweaty palms, just what online racing should be. As the game progresses the online racing should get better.

yeah I tried it 60-70 but found the car frame (A frame?) sometimes obscured the road a bit so upped it a bit. probably spent more time doing that than actually driving. lol

For me its feeling the weight of the car through FFB, I was racing at Brands hatch, was using the kerbs at the fast bend after the straight, I took a little too much and did'nt make proper correction and I felt and knew exactly what was happening as if it were in slow motion,...this was lap 10 of 10 and I was winning, by some margin, I lost, but still had a massive grin.

Gran turnip cannot compete at this level.

Yeah the Caterham is great fun - theres something very British about cruising around Snetterton & Donington in it, hehe. Makes me want to get out and have a picnic in the sun.

Love that i can hide the actual helmet, and use it as a cockpit cam that has the look to apex function 👍
After experiencing this i can't go back to the normal fixed cam, as it's way too static and a lot of the times you just have to guess where the curbstones are on a single screen.
I too love the Helmet Cam. The Look to Apex is fantastic. But what settings do I change to make the high speed blur go away? I have turned off everything related to Motion Blur, but no change. I hate that the cars directly in front of me get blurred out, but ones further ahead are perfectly clear. I don't mind the interior blurring out, but anything outside of the car needs to be crystal clear. Any help from anyone on this? This might be my only complaint.

It's in the same place as the FOV settings, but on the second tab. There are a bunch of options for the helmet cam there.

My fav so far.........

Oh, yeah another little bit that gave me a huuuuge grin!

You know T2 on Bathurst, Griffin's Bend, right? The one you're approaching real fast, breaking heavily into the uphil corner? Thanks to the feeling of speed and the car actually feeling heavy and alive due to the nice FFB, it feels like "ohmygodohmygodohmygod I'm gonna DIIIIEEEEEEEE - MADE IT!" Super scary when the concrete wall comes rushing at you and super satisfying once your car grips into the corner. So awesome! Also, throwing your car into the esses is properly scary at night :scared: Gotta say, lots of respect to the guys who're doing endurance races there.

Suzuka was so far ahead of its time that it feels modern even now... and the problem I have with that is that I finally got (sort of) bored of it.

Sakitto feels like a 'regressed' or a 'what-if-past' version. It's a lot faster, and feels kinda like a late 70's or 80's circuit with a little extra run off. I've only driven the GT3 cars here, but if they're any indication, driving something with tremendous downforce sounds like a recipe for a lot of fun... or a disaster waiting to happen. Damn it Slightly Mad, a butchered version of a real-world circuit isn't supposed to be this fun!

The GT4 racing series. First time it's been featured in a game? Compared to the heavily modified GT3 racers, with the GT4 cars you can still see the production car bodywork and a Motec display and racing wheel mounted on top of the standard interior.
I like the handling of the three GT4 cars I've tried so far, and the fast-but-not-incredibly-fast suits me very well for racing.

Not my favourite thing but a thing nonetheless. I was on California Highway Stage 1 in the Ariel Atom S/C when I hit the guardrail and stalled the car. Nice feature. I was sideways on the track on a slight, very slight incline, but at 90 degrees to the incline. I tried to start my engine but forgot that I had remapped that button. I started turning the wheel towards the downhill side and it moved a little, so I wiggled it back and forth and sooner or later it very slowly started to roll. I got the car turned and headed downhill, picked up a bit of speed, pushed in the clutch, dropped it into second, let out the clutch...and the car bump started.:sly:

This is the same feeling I had when I got my pc and got into Assetto Corsa last fall. You can actually feel what the car is doing through the FFB. Once you know this, it changes how you drive. I can never drive a lap the same way twice and sometimes I take more curb than I intend to. Happens a lot at Brands Hatch for example. But I know from what the wheel tells me, exactly what is happening with the car and what to do to avoid catastrophe. It's such an amazing feeling for a video game and takes sim racing to a whole new level:cheers:

A couple of really sweet moments so far:

• Silverstone GP, Formula A. Started out in pitch black without much warning (no headlights on the F cars!). Everyone on the track struggled immensely but quickly adapted to the conditions. Then when the sun slowly started to rise you could see the lap times getting better and better. Everyone pushed for the max and I ended up second.

• One of my first online experiences included a lot of people swearing over their headsets, due to the immense challenge the Formula A cars posed without any assists. One man in particular (that I think was Irish) really made an impression. You could hear his car aggressively spinning around every now and then over his headset and he was screaming like a mad man - "Are ye fockin' kiddin' meh?!?!". I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

• Nordschleife, GT3. Enough laps to make the race last for an hour. I had so much sweat on my hands that I had to think of good track opportunities to let go off the controller and wipe the sweat off. I was placed between two really fast cars and it was competitive right to the end. Sadly I made a mistake while breaking into one of the last corners and I spun out. But it didn't matter since it was so entertaining overall.

• Hearing the roaring sound of the Zakspeed Capri for the first time. Especially going through the tunnels on Azure Coast and California Highway. What a godlike sound!

• Being surprised by the great physics of the Formula A cars. It didn't take me much time to get my configuration right and then I was going around the tracks really smoothly. Cornering is just the best with these cars. Feels so freakin' good to get those lines right.

Full Car field me in a group A RS 500 at Bathurst ( or butthurt as I like to call it , coz I smash into the walls so often )

Last place 3 lap race set late so dusk like conditions , had a epic race for 24th place , me an the 23rd place car swopped places on the last lap 3 times , he beat me by 0.02 second an I giggled me head off .

No racing game has ever made me laugh like that for only getting across the line in 24th place , but feeling like I had to work for it .

Formula Rookie. Seriously, those cars are so much fun to race wheel to wheel! The AI aggressiveness is awesome, the best I've ever seen in a racing game and means I can expect a proper race even when offline.

Also, as no more than a tiny detail which will probably mean nothing to anyone else, and certainly nothing to those outside of the UK, the fact the in PCARS the track announcer is clearly the same chap who does track announcements at alot of big UK motorsport events, as well as commentary for the BTCC, just makes me smile so much. I really feel like I'm at a good old British race weekend. Fantastic stuff.

Ford Cosworth on Bathurst circuit. Didnt know the track at all and the Cosworth isnt nice on people still learning the track..took me about an hour to consistently do quick lap times. qualified 1st, then in the race ended up in a battle for first with p2 and p3. All the time overtaking eachother with these smoking and hissing Fords, burning rubber all over...awesome race :)
