In 5 points or less, describe your approach to racing in GT Sport in the sport lobbies.

1. I use the entire width of the track when possible.
2. If I screw up my line I will try to maintain the line I've put myself in as a courtesy.
3. I consider (EDIT: drivers who are) weaving and blocking as my cue to pass as I see fit, penalty be damned.
4. I can't think of anything else.
5. Yes I can! Drive as smooth as possible.

I think mine are pretty straight forward, how about you?

Edit: and I must be tired because I completely misread that

When I like the combo:

1. I watch the top1 lap time for a couple of times. If he's using a car I don't like to drive, I try to find another top10 lap with a different car
2. Practice my own lap times with a couple of cars until I either get a top10 lap time or close to it, depending on how much time I have and how tired or fresh I am.
3. Have a great start and build a big enough gap so the drivers behind me can't get int my splistream. If I'm not on pole, also get as close to the driver in front and put some pressure.
4. Try to not make mistakes - aka never lose DR.
5. Drive respectfully if I need to fight for or defend a position.

1) kill everyone
2) treat others how they treat you (see point 1)
3) don't be afraid to utilise pre-emptive strikes (see point 1)
4) pretend online daily races are like A-spec (offline / campaign) races (see point 1)
5) no matter what corner, what situation, what lap or how far behind the guy infront you are - always go for an overtake (i.e. see point 1)

(NOTE: I'm answering on behalf of most of the people in the bottom 5 places of DR A - A+ / SR S daily race(s))

👍 👍

Race c normally for me..

Do a custom race with the daily’s settings to get a feel for it.

Either go straight to a race or do qualifying, depends how much time there is.

Surive lap 1. I try my best to avoid any kind of contact with others.

Fuel save by short shifting for 3/4 of the race. Do one or two laps at full revs, usually on the inlap and outlap.

Fuel save until last lap, then use up whatever extra I have left.

1-Do my best to not make contact with other cars. (Unless I am racing someone who wants to get in a shoving match)

2-I usually put more effort into qualifying than the racing since they went to weeklys. I wont enter a race if I cant run 10 mistake free qualifying laps. (I only started sport mode races about a month ago, quit entirely when they went to weekly races)

3-Instead of trying to race at qualifying pace I race at a speed that I can comfortably race at without making mistakes.

4-I dont try to go for gaps in the first half lap or so, I would rather wait until we get settled in than worry about winning the first 3 turns. Is there an achievement award for winning the first turn? There must be the way that many people race.

5-Have fun. I dont mind getting beat but I do mind some jerk-off hitting me because he cant control his car or is too aggressive and thinks 3 wide in the bus stop chicane at Dragon Trail Seaside is a good way to make up some ground.

1. Drive carefully and just follow the pack
2. Overtake them when they wipe each other off
3. Always a bit scared to overtake in sport mode (cause I sort of expect they will run me off track or something)
4. I will defend rather aggressively when i have to
5. I will torpedo guys that drive purposely dirty.

Couldn't agree more Highlander!!! Almost reached A but I had too many of these experiences today, I'm gonna ensure to get back to be in the area of mid B or lower. Thanks for having the guts for sharing this. Bulls Eye!~ . Cheers  👍

1. Try to race clean, to the best of my ability.

2. Qualify at race pace. Nobody can match qualifying times, in a race. I can get very close.

3. Save fuel mid race. Flat out on lap one, and the final lap. Only stop for tyres.

4. Be consistent.

5. Pick up positions through others mistakes (forced or otherwise) instead of risky overtakes.

1. If an overly aggressive driver wants your position let them have it, you’ll pass them pointed the wrong way in the sandpit again anyway.

2. Don’t race as hard as I drive in qualifying, it never ends well.

3. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt before you retaliate, until it’s obvious they just want you dead

1. Practice. practice, practice. Most my Time in GTS is spent doing the Free Practice or qualys. And for FIA events I practice in the Lobby using tire wear and fuel consumption, makes all the difference. My practice strategy is to basically practice as much I can until my best lap time and optimal time is within a few 10ths of a second, then until I can consistently get within a second of that best lap for 10 or so laps. Then i know I've hit my peak and am doing the very best i can do.

2. It's all about qualifying, wherever I qualify is where I deserve to finish. My goal is to always go up at least a few positions from where a qualify and at the least not lose any positions.

3. Race consistent, mistake free races. My best result will be guaranteed if I stay on the track the whole race, no mistakes. Like point 2, I'll finish were I deserve, I won't win every race but as long as my race laps are consistently close to what my best practice lap time was I'll be happy and know I did my best.

4. Stay clear of other drivers. I can normally tell who I can have a clean battle with and stay close to and who I cannot. Those I cannot I'll give them space when trailing and let them pass when they get on my tail. Oddly enough more often than not, those guys end up going off track or making a big mistake where I can eventually get some distance ahead of them.

5. Pick my battles. I avoid any "Daily" Races races where I'm not putting a qualifying in the top 500 in region. I will only race them if i have an opportunity to improve my driver rating, if I'm going to start in the back of the pack it's not worth it.

I'm an intermediate driver trying to improve.
  1. Practice for comfortable, consistent lap times.
  2. Start the race slow and steady.
  3. Pick a car, follow it and try to get some space.
  4. Make sure to get good speed into lap 2.
  5. Aim for purple each sector.
  6. Try for clean race bonus

1. A win is an obligation. Anything below three stars is not enough

2. Anything above a second behind the Top 10 is an embarrassment. Do anything it takes to get within 1 second bar CSA and cutting track limits, even if your hands start to hurt or your feet starts to shake.

3. The moment I feel like I can match my quali times during the race is the moment I know that I should improve my time.

4. For the FiA races, always expect a win, even if it's impossible. Use the disappointment as motivation to learn, and to watch the replays over and over learning what they're doing differently

5. I will never be good enough, so I cannot afford to not give my all every single race

It's quite pessimistic, but it works
