Le Mans is my fav track for grinding. Smooth drive, very flowing.

I did most of in on a McLaren 750 and just recently with Porsche GT3 RS 991 with an engine swap and wide body.

I like 911 a lot, but if I go max power, it can only do 2.7 laps, which means an out lap and in lap. With McLaren I can do 3 laps on max power, but it is not as fast.

What is your absolutely fav car for LM money grinding that is both fast, pleasant to drive and fuel efficient?

Many many cars was tested also here

The truth is that a year - and more - before, many players was in the thirst for grinding and was searching for cars to make that procedure more interesting.
Now with the majority have all the cars or what they want anyway, griding has lost his interest.

Putting on account that many updates nerf the pp and performance of the king cars and the tyre wear also , the interest faid almost to zero in now days .

That's why not much answers.

I guess the usual cars are still very dominant, like R92CP and 787 for example.
Of course there's an almost endless number of cars that can race there and win especially at easy level that usually pick for grind at La Sarthe.
The reason? If rain falls, usually you can skip the last lap waiting at start finish straight, or at least was happening at the past .

To keep my interest high, i was searching for best lap times , most laps on low fuels, or even put the cars on 8 lap territory if weather allows it.

So , after all that ,am afraid you're on your own to choose how and with what and if you took a look at the threads , you might find interesting proposals to add spice in griding procedure.
Have fun

Since you're looking for car running under 4 minutes at Le mans @Lightpilgrim ,i did a quick search from what i remember and here is one.

Aston VGT DP 100 .
You put RH tyres ,you buy intermediate and rain if you want and go.

The " Go " hide one tip but crucial :
NEVER use AT gears , ONLY MT .
Have 7 gears but you only need to work with four.
4th,5th,6th,7,th !!!!!

You change gears around 5.000rpm and the higher the gear the better for you .
Isn't the best car in behaviour but load speed endlessly.
FM1or FM 2 should give you 3 laps
When you get the feeling of the car and learn where to brake it will very easy to run well under 3.55

Manual gears you will need also on every car if rain caught you out in order to get back at the pits safe , i mean you pause the game , change from AT ( of you use AT ) to MT and use higher gears with Traction control more than 1 of course .

I have faced All the weather patterns at this track considering that over a year and a half i was running 3-4 races per day ( or more if we had a challenge ) .
So your eyes must be on weather radar in zoom out to see what's coming.
After few races you will gain the proper experience and everything will work fine.

Also is better at le mans to run at easy level in order to avoid unwanted weather surprises .

That's all from me ,have a good time .

Top cars in terms of lap times: McLaren F1, F40, R8 V10, any of the 4wd Lambo's, Miura, 959, NSX 02 (swap or normal) '84 GTO, XJR (normal or swap) R32-34's using the GT500 engine... there are dozens of others that can run under 3:50 lap times when you can run FM1. Most of these can do just under 4min when conserving fuel for the WTC 700. (or at least could when I was still grinding it; it's been a year or more) I've not used the 2024 GT-R but I'm guessing it would be a top car with a good tune.

Some really fun ones that I liked to use: RX500, GT40, Shelby Cobra/Daytona, P330, 917k, any swap that uses the 787b engine, SC460 engine, or Porsche's running the RSR engine/any Porsche in general. Clio V6 (the MR one), R5 Turbo, Alpine A220, 250 GT (or GTO)... Toyota 2000GT. After a while you start to limit yourself to 650 or lower just to make it more interesting. Oh the GTO Twin Turbo, that car feels amazing to drive in the current physics engine, it's just not the quickest in its class.

If a car can do at least two laps before pitting and run 4:10's or better, you can win this race with ease on hard. Just pick a car that seems fun and run it
