PS
I always thought Fanata was like Puerto Rican, or Brazilian. The commercials always had some latinas dancing around going "Wanna? Wanna wanna, Fanta?". Or at least that's what it seemd like.
back in the day, before it was widely availiable here in the U.S. (im guessing you guys in canada get it too) it was not the same, i have not been to mexico in like 5 or 6 years but when i did go, i had a lot of fanta, (i think they even had pineapple but i don't remember) it was obviously different.
it was just crapped up when we finally got it.

I was talking about the pineapple Fanta, just couple of days ago with my coworker. I guess it's available in Oregon, somewhere.

Lemon-Lime Gatorade all the way, I drink a ton of that stuff. While it's not the best stuff in the world its a lot better then pop....errr I guess you guys would call it soda for whatever reason.

haha you call it pop, i know people from michigan, they all call soda "pop". I thought it was hilarious. As far as "ades" being bad, it's either that or something else thats even worse for my health, like soda. I drink alot of water, but gatorade tastes pretty good, and its not liike not active or anything.

pff, i don't think any of my friends call it "soda pop"......maybe really old people do though.
i just say "can i have a drink?" then i don't insult anyone as everyone knows of the whole pop coast vs. soda coast beef.
p.s. im from MI and is it really true that we have a whiny accent?

Pop/soda can be called ginger in Scotland (though this is mostly a traditional followed by old(er) people or neds.

I like cherryade and limeade

You are from Michigan and you don't call it pop or here that whineness? Wow have you always lived here?

Calling soda a "pop" was the hardest adjustment I had to make, when I moved to the U.S. :sly: Now "soda" sounds kinda awkward to me.

i don't call it pop, yes i have always lived here, but because i have lived here for my whole 16 years of existance (close to 17) i know nothing of other accents haha....except for a couple kids with a wierd lisp or something simillar to homestrunner's.

I like lemonade myself :)

I really don't have a preference between Gatorade and Powerade, I just buy whatever machine i'm closer to while at school.

Lol. But seriously...it's called Gatorade because it was invented by a professor at the University of Florida, whose mascot is the Gator. The Kansas City Cheifs were the first NFL team to drink it, rather than water, and they were all drastically better hydrated because of it. I think gatorade sucks now, though. It's too sweet and needs to be diluted.

That's because the Chiefs are Amazing! :D
