there's no poll in that thread.
That thread is about WHETHER you listen to music, my thread is about WHICH music,
I want youtube links too, WHAT music do you listen to

If I'm out driving for fun, I listen to either mark farina, aphex twin, or some kind of reggae, (pepper, slightly stoopid, expendibles, ect.) But if I'm serious, then all I want is pure sound from my car.

For me its anything by Lamb Of God, unless I have my mic on I wont`t listen to music cause its annoying hearing others muffled music through the headset.

Even outdated, DnB is perfect for drifting:

Some of these tracks and many other awsome DnB you can find in a compilation called "Kiss Fm Top 108 Drum and Bass 2009", from torrents anywhere.

Because most dubstep isn't even dubstep, people mislabel anything with that stupid ass 'wobble-noise' as dubstep.
I don't mind dubstep but what I do mind is heaps of this crap being produced en masse and being called dubstep so that daft gits who don't know peanuts about electronic music can call it dubstep and tell their hippity hoppity posse about this 'brand new thang'
"it's called dubstep because it has the dub noize, yo"

the only dubstep I can trust is the kind that is made live and streamed by people I know - it sounds better that way.

If you listen to dubstep remixes chances are it's not dubstep anyway so in that case "electronic" is probably the next closest thing.

I must disagree on this. Dubstep as a root-genre or even a musical element should be respected and inserted in the pool. Liking or not, dubstep is much more relevant than many other genres that is already in the pool, probably would be one of the most voted.

About what is good or bad dubstep, its a complex discussion... even in the Dubstep Thread in the GTP there is no conclusion. Probably happens what happen in another genres, i have my favorite vertent, you have yours, he have his... and so on.

Mainstream or not, hyped or not, underground or overused... it must not be ignored... Maybe later ill put here my favorite dubstep tunes, specialy the ones that not disturb the attention with the engine´s noise.

Ok then listen to anything by bassnectar and tell me that's not dubstep especially maximum

Dubtstep killed drum n bass, so I can see why you would think that.

However, Bassnectar is not dubstep. Bassnectar is electronic.

As I said above, a lot of electronic is mislabeled as dubstep JUST BECAUSE of the types of sounds used. (wubb wubb wububububwaauwb does NOT = dubstep)

skrillex, contrary to popular belief, is not dubstep either : it is either a form of 'post dub-step' or 'brostep'/'bruvstep'

Instead of wondering "Where is the dubstep? I want to vote for dubstep." because you don't want to vote for dubstep, you think you do but you are just using the wrong name, it's like ordering a hot dog and picturing a burger, because you like to eat burgers but 'hot dog!' is what you hear all the cool people order.

you should really be wondering "where is the electronic? is poll creator retarded?"

edit:

It doesn't matter if you can't vote for it by name anyway just post the youtubes of songs you like, this doesn't need to be a debate about what's dubstep or what to vote for or anything like timelines of the evolution of electronic music blah blah blah

"some people call it hip hop, pop, trance, dance, rock -it's hot
we call it music, music, music, nothin but music -
we make songs that are catchy and they keep ya connected like tetris"

just post the songs you like I don't car what genre it is, music is great, I just dislike mislabelling things; it defeats the whole purpose of labels in the first place -. -

Give me an example of pure dubstep then

Burial, Benga...
I dont like it, but every time someone says that what is true dubstep, both names always comes up.

Well now! That widdler track was probably some of the most tasteful dubstep I done heard in a long long time! thank you.

if the song did not have the little talking bit dubbed in at the end it would just be 2 step hahaha:dopey:

dubstep didn't kill D&B it killed it self by calling pendulum and that ilk d&b lol rock guitars have no place in d&b and sounds like it was made for kids that cant dance....
d&b when through alot of changes i should know i was there when it all started and have dj and held raves.....and know allot of producers of d&B who dont produce much any more as they dont like the sound the kids have been brain washed into liking....alot of them put out dubstep under alias

dubstep is doing the exact same thing but in a shorter period of time kids in there rooms churning out any old thing with a slow bassline an calling it dubstep....why get mad you just sort the wheat from the chaff having said that i havent heard a really fat tune in over a year...untill i listened to....

a set by dj youngsta on rince fm its from last month its the darkest moodiest set ive ever heard even the mc is like wtf are you playing:tup:
and its not called dubstep its darkstep....

remember children acid, tecno, jungle tecno, jungle, drum an bass, hardstep, intelligent d&B, vocal d&b an on an on an on

btw when im not listening to 90s jungle i like a lil Val Doonican lol

what meantime? I am unaware of a way to add genres =S

I am surprised you haven't added Tri-hiphop, Turntablism, Instrumental Hiphop. There will always been the assortment of Genre's that you haven't heard of. You could PM a moderator to edit your poll.

How many music genres / sub-genres we´ve saw in the history that lost its integrity due the mainstream? Or even, how many cultural manifestations got this issue? Probably everyone here remember at least some many exemples.

I can imagine how annoying is to live in a country where the dubstep turned into the breed and butter of every idiot without musical personality, and just follow the wave. Hopefully in Brazil a very small number of person know about its existence, so i can listen whatever i want about dubstep without be branded as mainstream exploiter.
