What Legendary Cars are a must have to you?

I personally haven't used the Tomahawk farming method too much as I prefer racing on different tracks - so credits are more scarce for me.

I've managed to save up for a few group C cars and a Mclaren F1, but I really can't see myself buying the whole lot.

From your experience, what Legendary cars are a must have that's worth the coin? ;)

For me after a dozen of sport races, I can list:
•CLK-LM
•F1 GTR Longtail (BMW FINA livery)
•R34 Pennzoil GT500
•Supra Castrol TOM'S GT500
•Basically all Group C cars

I can list more, especially the oldest ones, like 330 P4 and Mark IV but ever since I play this game, they didn't have put races for these car's. So, that's my list!

Is the love for the F1 GTR car based on historic value or on how it actually drives? I spent 10.5 mil on it, but I seem to be much faster in my 1.8 mil Zonda R. when I tune both of them to the same PP. I don't have much (recent) experience with GT or driving games in general so maybe I'm overlooking things.

I really like:
CLK-LM
F1 GTR gr2
All Gr1 cars (they cost about 1.5-3m)

McLaren F1 1995 Gr3 for 10.5m is not so cool. it's not bad, but I don't think that it's the best gr3 car.

Also I need to buy Ford Mark 1. It was the only old fast car in GT Sport I can drive against more modern cars

The F1 that I'm talking about isn't the last one (the black one), is the white version with FINA livery. I've paid 9,5 mil on it and it's a fantastic car! BMW bought the car, so in the game, the constructor isn't McLaren, but BMW!

This one!

That's an awesome list of cars, great taste! I was eyeing the 330 P4 too but it was $9 million from memory and I didn't have the credits haha! I do wish they came up with more races. There's nothing for Group C cars at all. Hopefully in future updates.

I love the Le Mans cars (and track) the most...

These three are must have IMHO:

1. Mazda 787B is only 1.8 million... My favorite car in the game.

2. The Alfa Romeo 155 is only 800K (not a Le Mans car obviously but is a beast and is great on that track)

3. Porsche 962C and it's only 1.5 million.

All three drive great and are just cool cars in general...

I'm also really enjoying the Ford Mark IV and wasn't a terrible grind at 4.6 million...

The Alpine A220 is a blast and only 300K...

I feel I overpaid for the McLaren F1 GTR at 10.5 million but no regrets. My son and I grinded out the credits together.

I really want the classic Jag and Ferrari to complete the classic Le Mans triumvirate but they are both close to/over 10 million so not sure...

I only buy cars that are useful for Sport Mode. I bought all the Gr.2 and Gr.3 cars. Of the Gr.1 cars, I still lack the Sauber C9. The rest is dispensable.

Thanks for clearing that up! The 10.5 mil one also had BMW in its name but was indeed a McLaren car.

For me, I can mostly wait when it comes to cars that only come in one color, like the various race cars. But I might jump on the Ford Mark IV/Ferrari 330 P4/Jaguar XJ13 since they're needed for the trophy. Other than that, I'd much prefer to buy my used or legendary cars in my preferred factory color, even though I'm very aware we can repaint cars. An example would be how I'd like to buy the Ferrari F50 twice - once in Rosso Corsa, and a second time in Argento Nurburgring. But perhaps if a car isn't in a color I'd like, I might buy it anyway, so I can use it as a spare for tuning. That's what I did with the Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10), as I had bought it in white when I would've preferred silver.

I like the Shalby Daytona and LeMans 3 trio. I don't have them yet and plan on getting them eventually. I like the Japanese cars the Z & the Skyline and the muscles cars.

I'm loving the Ford Mark IV (per above)... Are the classic Jaguar and Ferrarri Le Mans cars worth the (approximately) 10 million credits?
I have the Ferrarri 330 P4 and I can guarantee to you: this car is amazing! For a 60's car, drives really well! I'm waiting to the jag show off to I get the trophy, but if we consider the gameplay of the Ford Mark IV and the Ferrarri 330 P4, I think that drives really close to them.

I'm a fan of the horses, so I'll need every legendary Ferrari and Ford before I'm done. I also needed the CLK-LM and 787B for nostalgia reasons.

But I dont think that's the answer you were looking for. I would suggest the 330 P4 as a Must Have. It is just a wonderful machine to drive, an absolute dream if you can manage the traction on cornering. Also, you can use it to pay for itself. It'll win any race currently in game up to and including the WTC800 events.

The Alfa Romeo Guilia is one for sure.

I remember I made a lobby in GT5 only allowing Giulia stock, people joined soon and it was one of the best races I ever had.

Tried the same thing yesterday in GT7 with a friend and the car feels ever better with my g29 now.But no one joined cause everyone plays Gr.4 and 3.
Very sad the players now only like fast easy boring cars.

  • Mclaren F1 GTR
  • Mclaren F1 GTR LT
  • Mercedes-Benz CLK LM
  • Porsche 911 GT1 Strassen version
Include back the TS020, R390 & Esperante (Lister GT1, F40 LM and F50 GT1 even?) in a future update then.....well...

The GT series introduced and glamourized them for me, while the Le Mans 24h digital PS1 game and world attraction introduced me to their pedigree and legend.
These in particular redefined an era of GT racing I love. Too young to appreciate them at the time but damn did I learn. Being chips off the ol' block which once was Group C, A 1000kg super car with over 600hp is what GT 1 cars were for me for a very long time even after the GTS era. Recreating their epic battles would be well, epic.

I have simple taste. Mclarens, Ferraris and such, don't do anything for me. I think the most expensive cars I bought were the 787, and Porsche, and still haven't driven either one. I did buy 5 Camaros, and wish I'd bought more, 5 Challengers, 3 '69 Fairladys, and a few other "cheap" cars. I almost bought the D type, but knew it would be a virtual dust collecter, so hung on to my credits.

I don't grind for credits, so not exactly flush, but for the most part, I've bought what I want. Waiting on the Boss Mustang to come back around, so I can buy 3-4 of those.

Need more new to the game cars. Or some they dropped from old games.

Got them already:
300 SEL
Z432(bought more after completing the Human Comedy missions)
365 GTB4
Alfa 155
Boss 429
Superbird
The Group C cars(will get the C9 next time)

I’ve collected many others, but they weren’t must haves. Just cars I liked.

I guess "must have" is relative but this is how I see it.

Absolute must haves:
*Alfa Romeo Gr.4 car- best Gr.4 car in the game
*Gr.2 McLaren- costly but best legendary Gr.2 car I think
*One of the three Group C cars- Sauber, 787B, Jaguar (I think Sauber is the best but there are varied opinions on all three of these, nonetheless, they are ALL good)

Great to have:
*The other 2 of the three best group C cars that you didn't buy above. They are all good cars, get them all if you can
*CLK-LM- great car but I think McLaren is just better

Get if you have money:
*Gr.3 McLaren- it's good, but not the best, and it's expensive
*McLaren F1 (road car)- nowhere to drive it but c'mon, it's probably best car ever made
*Tom's Supra, Pennzoil GTR- classic Gran Turismo and they are relatively cheap but they aren't any better than most Gr.3 cars so you're really only buying for the nostalgia

And I got one wild card here- Mercedes S Barker! That car is so fun to drive! I know it's really expensive, but it's so amazing! This might be the most fun I've had in GT ever driving this thing. It does not drive like an almost 100yr old car with a luggage trunk on the back. It handles like a dream, competitive with modern cars. It's amazing that you can beat modern cars with a suitcase strapped to the back of your car. Seriously, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks man, great info! I actually just won the Alfa GR4 in a 4 star Roulette ticket. About time I received something after getting so many $5000 credits haha. I never imagined the Mercedes S Barker to be a fun drive so it's good to know. If I never come up with enough credits I'll give it serious consideration now. It certainly looks classy and cool.

I posted about this on the pre-‘79 Alsace thread but nobody responded. It was amazing for that race! So stable and powerful, even fully restricted. It’s so light and easy on tires, and it worked better than any other car I tried. I just LOVE that car. Let me know if you open a lobby for it.

I just figured that was “old school ballast” for the races!
