What Legendary Cars are a must have to you?

I personally haven't used the Tomahawk farming method too much as I prefer racing on different tracks - so credits are more scarce for me.

I've managed to save up for a few group C cars and a Mclaren F1, but I really can't see myself buying the whole lot.

From your experience, what Legendary cars are a must have that's worth the coin? ;)

Anything under a million (that isn't a prize car)

Grab the F50 before it leaves; best handling modern Ferrari in the game, and is one of the quickest super/hyper cars I've tested.
F40 is more of a handful but still very quick and fun. Fairly cheap too (and should be coming up in the next few days)

'84 GTO, GT40 Mk1 road car, Miura, F1 (road) F1 GTR Long Tail (best Gr. 2 in the game, imo), CLK-LM (awesome gr. 2 car in its own right) Porsche GT1 road car, all of the Group C's, Alfa 155 (should still be in dealership) Gr. 3 Skyline, Castrol Supra. 250 GT Berlinetta. I'm sure I'm missing some gems that aren't coming to mind.

Cars I'd avoid: F1 GTR Gr. 3. Artificially nerfed downforce to cram it into Gr. 3 and doesn't have the handling characteristics of the other two F1's. It's not bad, just kind of insulting... Plus it's 20x more than the average Gr. 3 car, lol.

Plymouth Ghia Roadster (not horrible but there are far better options for far cheaper in that age range)

The Barker and Alfa from the 20's/30's... we'll never have content for them.

Shelby Cobra and Daytona. The former is almost impossible to drive, the later is too expensive since we'll never have any content (no downforce so it can't run with the GT40 MkIV, 330 P4, etc). Both are fun to drive in time trials, but challenging. Cobra might be worth it for cool factor alone.

Can't make a call on the XJ13, 917k, 300 SL racer, Mondial, as I've not picked them up yet, though if I had to guess I'd say the 917k would be the only one worth picking up (again due to a lack of content for anything that's not Gr.4-Gr.1). Maybe the XJ13 if you care about PSN trophies, though if it's anywhere near as good as its rivals it will be competitive in the WTC 700 at Sarthe/similar races.

Currently I've only bought the Superbird, the '70 Challenger, the Hakosuka, and the 356A Carrera Coupe.

I don't buy many cars from the LCD due to the ludicrous cost involved. I have to ask myself whenever I go to the LCD "Is this car worth grinding for hours on end for?" Usually the answer is no.

Porsche 917K
Ford Mk IV
Jaguar XJ13
Ferrari 330P4
Aston Martin DB5
Alpine 220S
Jaguar E-type
Jaguar D-type
Aston Martin DB3S
Alfa Romeo Zagato ?
Ferrari 250 SWB
Ferrari 250 race ?
Shelby Daytona Coupe
Ferrari 365GTB4

in reality all the older classic cars, I want to be like Jay Leno and drive all my collection, all will be restored to orginal liveries if possible of the classic racers.

F40. Why? It's the freaking F40
Indeed. Same with the F50.

I just wish we could get the F40 to sound like the IRL F40-LM/Competizione and get an F50-GT appearance via GT Sport for the F50

The Alfa Romeo Guilia is one for sure.

I remember I made a lobby in GT5 only allowing Giulia stock, people joined soon and it was one of the best races I ever had.

Tried the same thing yesterday in GT7 with a friend and the car feels ever better with my g29 now.But no one joined cause everyone plays Gr.4 and 3.
Very sad the players now only like fast easy boring cars.
The Giulia is a pretty great drive and we've got enough racers of that era/performance PD could put together a great race. DB3S, 300 SL, Spyder, Giulia (sure there are more I'm forgetting). I can only assume they intend to; why else put so many lower PP race cars in the game? I've tried to get a lobby together a few times myself for some old classics and can never get more than 2-3 people to join.
I really like:
CLK-LM
F1 GTR gr2
All Gr1 cars (they cost about 1.5-3m)

McLaren F1 1995 Gr3 for 10.5m is not so cool. it's not bad, but I don't think that it's the best gr3 car.

Also I need to buy Ford Mark 1. It was the only old fast car in GT Sport I can drive against more modern cars
The GT40 Mk1 isn't what it was in Sport, unfortunately. I still think it's a must have and it is still pretty quick; I'm getting almost identical lap times at Brands Hatch with the Mk1 and the '06 Ford GT, even with the GT being a higher PP (but both on Sports Softs)

It's not competitive against modern cars in its upper PP reaches (700-ish) but is pretty competitive at 600-650pp depending on the track, and since it has the GT Auto options for a fair amount of downforce (150/300 max) it's one of the quicker road cars of its era. I think the only road car I've put more miles on is the F1, and I've got the credits set back to pick up a second when it pops up in a week or two, so I'd say it's worth the 5.xmil. If it were possible to add a 6-speed transmission it would probably be closer to the quickness it had in Sport, but we can only add a 5-speed (which I do not understand... we have engine swaps in the game but adding a different transmission than the original model had is off-limits. Makes zero sense, but that's PD for ya)

The 1970 Nissan Skyline hardtop is cheap, but one of the coolest and smoothest cars to drive in the game(at least in my universe), the De Tomaso Mangusta is the Elden Ring Car in the game...very hard to drive with the default settings, but a great satisfaction once you manage to tame it(although the last update made it easier to master that beast)

The GT40 Mk1 in GTS was meta...
I'm a bad driver(btw D and sometimes C in GTS), and I have my problems with MR cars, but with that one i could win almost everything...

Yeah, in GTS it was one of the quickest cars anywhere from N300 all the way up to N600 or N700 (whatever its top end was)
and it's not in GT7, which is probably more realistic.

It doesn't have the really bad throttle-lift oversteer that a lot of MR cars have in GT7, and as long as you soften the rear end it can put its power down pretty well. Still a great car, just a more realistic depiction of a 60yo car. Though I think it's better than the 06' GT that was built to replicate it; that car has too much torque if you lower its weight but if you keep it at 32-3300lb its not as nimble as the Gt40. I can get about a 1:34 in it at Brands Hatch on Sports Softs, about the same as the 930/964 911's tuned up to 650pp as well as the '99 Impreza STi. The '92 and '02 NSX come in around 1:33-1:32, respectively, and then when it gets to the Carrera GT, F50, F1, etc I'm seeing like 1:29's.

I'm not a great/fast driver either so there are probably people that run 5sec quicker on all of these than me, but that's where they fall with my tuning/driving. Brands may not be the greatest test track either due to all of the elevation changes on corners that can really de-stabilize a car, but that's just where I'm comfortable driving. There are quite a few cars coming in slower than the Mk1 that are newer so it's still a competitive car, just not the world-beater it was in Sport.

917K is at the top of my list. The Porsche 356 models and the 962 next and the all of the the Ferraris and the Group C cars. Finally the Ford GT40's and Mk IV cars.

for me it's this

For me, the GT40 Mark IV Race Car, the Porsche 917K, the Ferrari 330 P4, and the Mercedes CLK GTR.

I currently have the GT40, and am working on getting enough credits for the 917. The 330 is also in there, but I don't know if I'll get it before it disappears, again; that's a lot of grinding. I haven't seen the CLK, yet. But it may have been there when I didn't check the listing for a few days.

Runner's up include:
Sauber C9 (already have)
787B
R92CP
Shelby Daytona Coupe

  • Castrol Supra
  • Alfa 155 V6 Ti
  • Porsche 962 C
  • Sauber Mercedes C9
  • Mercedes CLK LM
  • Mazda 787B
  • Ferrari F40
  • McLaren F1 GTR
  • McLaren F1 GTR Longtail
  • Pennzoil Nismo GT-R

I currently own the Castrol Supra, 155 and 962. I also bought the A220, it wasn't on the list at first, but this car is great!
Just my 2 cents, but the Castrol supra is superior to the Pennzoil skyline in every single way. Plus it's half the price. Too bad we can't test drive cars because the Pennzoil is the worst decision I have made

Since Gt Sport I love McLaren F1 94, easy to drive and very fast car. Unfortunately is impossible to buy in GT7, the price is 19.400.000 Cr. I don't want to get crazy by driving Sardegna or Sarthe for hours every day and of course I will never buy Credits on line paying euros. I would like to ask KAZ " Man, what did you have in your mind when you developped GT7?"
It's just my opinion and I can be wrong, but I am sure Gt7 is not going to last 4-5 years like GT Sport. Have you seen the FBB isssue on the officials steering wheel? Question is: How do they think to place the world championship if the official wheel Fanatec DD PRO ( 1000 Euros) has FBB problems?

Since I have Gran Turismo 7 I bought few cars in the LCD and here is my ranking ;

1 - Nissan R92CP : One of my most used car, it is brillant to drive especially during the 24h of Spa Francorchamps. Stunning handling / terrific performances / good fuel consumption. I won so many évents with the R92CP but I might be find a new replacement...

2 - Mercedes Sauber C9 : just bought today so I haven't try properly but I think it even better than the Nissan R92CP, plus I love the look of the Sauber (already seen it IRL) Can't wait to drive more :)

3 - Porsche 911 GT1 street version : As a Porsche LOVER I really enjoyed that PD added that legendary car in this game ! I'm so frustrated by the handling/behavior of the modern 911 in this game (991 GT3 RS ...) that I thought the 911 gt1 was going to behave the same way but it's not ! This car is a dream to drive with everything off (except ABS), I love the look (like I always loved) love the sound of that glorious Mezger 3.2 flat 6 Bi-turbo and that raw feeling of 90's "Hypercar"

4 - Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R : Bought the Skyline and I upgraded the look to a real Hakosuka version ! It is a modest power but I love the vibes of that japanese oldtimer, superb handling (for the era) stunning look especially with the upgraded bodykit and the sound is music to my ears. Love to drive it in Tokyo Expressway :)

5 - Ferrari F50 : it is more or less the same than my 911 GT1 review but with slightly less power and grip.I love the look especially in Argento Nurburgring with blacked headlights and it handle with so much confidence (like the GT1)

6 - Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray : I just bought this car for the look and vibes , I'm not planning to use it on events/races. I love to use it in Daytona speedway during the morning time.

7 - Ferrari 288 GTO : Despite the look and sound(oh my lord that pièce of art...) it is my only "regret" for now, it is very fast in a straight line but it is unstable in the corners. Garage Queen I guess.

Now my next purchase will be the Ferrari F40 / Ferrari Daytona / Shelby GT350 (I'm waiting one with the stripes) and the Renault R8 Gordini / Alpine A220

After an initial poor impression, I would now have to include the McLaren F1 GR3 as a "must have" legendary car. Some minor tuning adjustments can make it fantastic at 799pp. Not sure about its BoP performance.

Porsche 917K, Ford GT40, Sauber Mercedes, Ferrari 330 P4.

They are all Le Mans cars, and I rarely race anything faster than Gr2 (reflexes shot at age 61, lol), but I first fell in love with car racing aged 5 (mid 60s) when my parents bought me a Scalextric set, and one of the cars was a GT40 :-)

Did S-4 beating Gold by 2 seconds (was the hardest test for me pre-triggers and MT, when I was on AT transmission using X and Square)

I need that TOMs Castrol Supra!

Finally got the F40 it had been my reason for logging on most days. Ploughed hours into the perfect tune for it - really taking pleasure from the game now. Glad I nailed the F40 tune as I was slightly disappointed at its skittish tendencies on full chat when I first bought it. Its a pleasure for me now. Favourite Car in the game - any excuse to use it.
