In the next few days, I'll be ordering a computer from a local shop, and I have what I want figured out. One thing though, I am ignorant when it comes to Motherboards. So I was wondering, what would you guys recommend? What I'll be requesting goes as follows:

Intel i7-3770 3.5ghz 8mb
Nvidia GTX680
2TB HDD
16 GB of RAM
And a Blu-Ray/DVD/CD RW

Any thoughts?

Any good Asus Z77 board, I have the Z77 Sabertooth and it is nice.
Comes with 5 year warranty as well as dust filters for unused ram slots and PCIe slots.

Get an SSD for windows and basic programs.
16GB of Dominator GT RAM
WD 2TB HDD for games and user files.
LG BD-RW drive

You could go for an i5 3570K
This board is for the 1155 socket.

If you've got the money for that part list the Sabertooth would be my choice too. I don't see the need to spend anymore than that or any of your other parts. That's a heck of a high end computer.

I have an asus board an really like it. Why no SSD in your build? I couldn't believe how mauch faster my PC runs with one. It literally does away with load times. Playing witcher 2 with one has no load times at all. On my HDD it has up to 30 second load times.

SSD's are expensive. I'll probably get at least a 120gb one.

You don't need more than that in my opinion. That's enough room for Window's, a couple games and caching if you'd like and beyond that I don't think the need for it is there but it's up to you.

CPU-z can tell you what motherboard you have down to the make, model and firmware/BIOS version.
