while I agree that bodykits aren't all that great for racing, it would be nice to see a realistic simulation of downforce, drag co-efficiency changes and weight balance differences for bodykits

thats a great idea, that way when someone gets the 50lb body wide body kit the car actually goes slower and handles like crap because its pushing more air. or when you put the 3ft wing on a front driver you cant turn because you have so much downforce on the rear of the car its pulling the weight off the front tires. and before you say this dosnt happen irl its because the $300 wing you bought out of the back of super street isnt functional, its just for looks.

anyway enough of that, put them in, i just wont use them, just dont make me use them like in NFSU.

after all that ranting my idea and what i think they should do for gt5, even if god forbid they have to concentrate on less cars, is a non liniar tuning system. lets be realistic basically everytime a new gt comes out were buying the same game. it really hasnt chnged all that much since the first one, theres more cars and the graphics are better and some more tracks, but basically its been the same since the first one. tuning in the game it boring and tired now. i used to enloy it but not anymore, i just get the money throw the best stuff on and go. they need to get down to nuts and bolts with tuning, literally. give me a range of different pistions, cams, turbos superchargers and such, to put in the motor. different shocks and things like that, i wont list everything but you get the point. not just stage 1,2,3 of what ever, let me choose the parts and do what i want. that way everybody dosnt have the same car just maybe a different color. the tuning choices would be endless, and throw in engine swaps and the combinations grow even more. think you got 2 camaros ones got a turbo 3.8 out of a grand national swapped in running about 800hp, the other ones got a 800hp ls2. same car but they will drive completly differently. leave the stages too for the casual gearhead, but let me dive deeped if i want too. imo this would revolutionize the game and the genre just like the first one did. 1000 cars will make the game cool yes but it wont do that.

oh and one more thing, parts failure. i hate the way i can run my car at 9000 rpm for a lap and nothing happens to the motor. this way when someone tries the put 11:1 pistion and 30lbs of boost on their car there is a concequence.

I want bodykits to fit all the racingstyles in the game... so you can put on for exampel JGTC kitsand stuff and build your own JGTC car... and drifting kits for AE86 and stuff...

how about this then: you should only be able to put JGTC kits on cars that is/have been in the JGTC series irl... and you should only be able to put D1GP kits on cars that is/have been in D1 irl etc... and then you can make your own paintjob like in Forza and you get decals from companys you use parts from...

EDIT: it should not be a must to use the decals...

that sounds good. I like the idea of building youre own racecar. i wouldnt really limit what you can put the kits on either. if the car meets the requirements for the series than you should be able to do it whether it has raced irl or not. what in against are the saturday night special body kits stickers and wings we all see running around nowadays.

yeah, but the JGTC should be Japanese cars only ;)

Make Porsche a dealer and RUF a tune shop
Huh....why do you people keep forgetting aout Ruf's position.
Here's how your post should be.
Add Porsche (if available)
Keep Ruf's current dealer filled with its models.
Add a Ruf Tune-Shop in Ruf's area to tune the Ruf's and Porsches.

I want Jabba Sport or TSR or PitStop Developments. One day i will be able to have a Mk2 Golf Rallye with a supercharged VR6 engine in GT or 1.8 turbo engined MK2's

Hartge for all your BMW, Merc and Mini needs

Brabus - Need i say more?

BBR tuning so we can have insane mini's

Stark Racing so we can have insane old mini'ss

Z Cars so we can have Stupidly insane old mini's :)

i would imagine that would be one of the requirements of that particular series, but you gotta admit seeing a camaro or possibly (hopefully) a fox mustang running around with the rx7s and supras would be cool. remember its a game too, sometimes its fun to do things you cnat do irl. :)

also i am by no means a huge ford or mustang fan, but i see mustangs as the car thats been negected in the gt series, camaros have been represented ok but not many mustangs and no fox bodies. which here in america is a decent entry level v8 car that can be made very fast.

Comptech, Yashio, Jun!!! , J's Racing. Basicly every single tuner that was ever on best motoring :) all those cars are cool. 👍

All the cars on Best motoring HVI 76 are insane!!! the 350z with the skyline engine was insane.
I want to be able to have tons of body/aero kit options and be able to to crazy engine swaps and custom engine jobs as well. like a 3 rotary 350hp NA rx7. :)

Cars from all over the world race in the JGTC, now it's called the Super GT cos not all the races are held in Japan anymore. It wasn't called the all Japan GT championship cos only Japanese cars could enter, it was because it was held entirely in Japan, then it expanded it's venues to a few places outside Japan and now it's been re-named to the Super GT, same format with the cars and classes but the name goes hand in hand with races outside Japan. Theres been McLaren F1's, Vipers, CLK's, Diablo's all racing in the JGTC in the past. Theres been a hell of a lot of Vipers and 911's actually, I think even the odd C5R has turned up, regulated to meet the GT500 rules ofcourse the same as the other GTS and GT1 class cars that have entered.

Make Porsche a dealer and RUF a tune shop
This is just insane, do some research and then come back here. I'm tiredof people classing Ruf as a Porsche tuner, sure they'll tune your Porsche ifyou take it to them, but theydo manufacture their own cars. hell, Lotus will tune almost anything you take to them for the right ammount of cash, that doesn't make Lotus Lada tuners becasue they made a kickass Riviera.

Make Porsche a dealer and RUF a tune shop

I agree! 👍

From what I understand, RUF tunes customers Porsche's as well as producing their own models.

The Tuners in GT4 have their own complete cars for sale, so I think this would be good. We get Porsche and dont loose RUF either!

The same could be done for Holden, by adding someone like Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) or Corsa Special Vehicles (CSV) as a tuner, as well as having their own models like the HSV Clubsport or the CSV Veloce.

Actually, it might make sense if you put it that way... 💡

But it would still be unfair to RUF, unless you put Callaway, Saleen and Shelby in the tuner section also. Those companies ALL made a name for themselves tuning cars, and Callaway and Shelby don't sell much in the way of totally manufactured machines, but they got put in the manufacturer's section, too.

Whereas RUF changes almost everything but the body-panelling on their cars.

I have been wanting to talk about such companies in the game, but never had the chance. Until now, of course.

Since I'm a Houston boy, I'm going to want to represent Houston's own Hennessey Performance. I believe they have tuned up the fastest truck or the fastest Ram in the nation. Maybe even the world. I am a DaimlerChrysler guy, so I'd love to race a Viper modded up and all. Roush would sweeten the pot for my Ford types. I'd want to see Kenny Brown represented, like that Club Sport Racer Mustang he had. To prove that I'm not some "supercar fanboy," Alpina would be a nice choice. If you're going to have Holden, HSV would really put Australia on the map for GT games. I don't know too many European tuner groups besides maybe AMG's modding of Mercedes.

GTP, my issue here is, okay. The Japanese are wonderful folks with their tuning and what not. To me, I think there should be some American, European, and Australian tuners to make competition tighter. After all, tuning isn't limited to just Japan. If there's an in-house firm that has its own modded automobiles, in much the same way you can go to Honda, select "Tune Shop," and go to "Full Model," you can be able to do just that with other car companies with in-house tuners. My issues have nothing to do with "bias" or anything like that. I think that if you want to make tuners real hot, you have to pull together as many contingents as possible. And if it means pulling together hot tuning groups from around the world, then so be it.

So why shoud we care about something like this? No matter what cars we like, no matter what kinds of cars we like, no matter how we prefer our cars, we are all an automotive community consisting of many nations, many cultures, many preferred brands, and especially many nationalities. To say that a person should only see sports cars and the fastest race cars in a GT is completely ludricrous because as much as we hate to admit it, we are all a community. You may hate the HKS Genki Silvia, but someone else might. Tuners and tuner cars are part of today's modern automotive society, so they should get their chance to shine. Having said this, let's make it a Tuner World Challenge by having as many contingents represented as possible.

I'd like to see all sorts of swaps. Not over the top or extreme like a Chev smallblock in a Mini but something like a 13B turbo into a KP Starlet and stuffl like that.

I saw a magazine article at some point about a guy who put a 350 Chevy smallblock in a Honda S800! How cool would that be in GT game.

Actually no. The JGTC needs cars from the JGTC only and I'll be d*mned the day a F1 GTR "Longtail" becomes a Japanese manufacturer suddenly.

With that, how about so Hamann models. ;)

First of all I wholeheartedly agree with JohnBM. Second, since just about every tuner known to man has already been proposed I'm going to list some modifications that would be nice.

#1 on the wishlist, real wheels and tires, with different tread patterns, compounds, sizes, widths, and sidewalls. I am so sick of getting stuck with a car that has 14" wheels and thats it, end of story, you cant put a bigger wheel on it or a wider tire!

#2 is actually a realistic comprehensive guide to tuning in the game manual. The system they have now is so obscure and difficult to understand that we still debate about whether were putting toe in or out into our car! If they are going through all this trouble to design a system, why not tell us how to use it!

I am going to excercise my right to veto some ideas here, if only in my own mind, but... This is a performance game with speed as the ultimate goal. There is no drifting competitions yet, or car show comps, or anything that would require a car to need an aesthetic body kit. I think if it is going to take away from the performance of the car, why bother with putting it in the game? It's taking up space that could be used for other stuff. That said, I would like to see the option of choosing effective Aero mods. Their are splitters and spoilers that will actually help a car perform, and instead of getting 4 or 5 generic wings to choose from, I'd like a little more control over what I buy. Give me control over the color and have a lot to choose from, like the wheel section in GT auto.
