I also got a Galaxy Note 8.0 for the tablet, which is the camera i use for above.

I'm now rocking a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini ever since I started working earlier this year.

I have just this week moved over from Android to Windows. I have been using a very dated Samsung Galaxy Ace with a custom Cyanogen 7.2 based Rom and 32GB SD card but now i've just happily bought a brand new Microsoft Lumia 640 XL LTE with 64GB SD card. :D
I like it so far but the headphone volume and audio options could be better, I cannot find an app that deals with this yet. :(

I'm in the market for a new phone that I use for work (receiving emails from dispatch, keeping customer contact data etc.)and personally. Not a fan of bigger phones and I'd love a keyboard (Blackberry for many years) but realize I have to give it up at this point. Any recommendations?

My Galaxy Rugby Pro has been very solid and still works as good as new.. I haven't had a single issue with it, not one..
I can have a Galaxy S5 for almost free with a contract renewal, so that's what I'll end up with.
Not a big IPhone fan myself.

What about a BlackBerry Passport? I use one currently even though I don't like big phones.

iPhone 5, and I don't want a phone any bigger than this. I wish Apple had kept making phones this size, might have to switch back to android for my next phone.

There are rumours that there's going to be an iPhone 6C with a 4 inch screen. Nothing is confirmed yet, though. On the Android side, the smallest flagship is probably the Sony Xperia Z5 compact, which has a 4.6 inch screen.

I'm hoping that more manufacturers will start making smaller phones alongside their current flagships, not everyone wants a phablet.

I'd also have a look at the Z5 compact.

Well I could go on a brief history on my life with phones
It all began in ~2006 (I was 8) and my mum gave me her old nokia brick phone. Never used it for calls, only for Snake
Then began the quick switches from different phones, from slide phones, to flip phones (and even my mums old pink LG flip phone, never brought that out in public)
My first "modern" phone was an iPhone 3G 32gb, a second hand one family friends gave me after they bought it from some moron who tried to jailbreak it but failed, basically corrupting the phone. My dad managed to successfully fix and jailbreak it and then it was mine, and is still working to this day.
Then I upgraded to the 3GS, which was also my mums since she got promoted to an iPhone 4S
After I dropped my phone from a terrifying height of 10cm and shattering the screen, my mum finally got me a brand new phone: A black iPhone 4S 16gb. This was my favorite phone, it was reliable, quick, not insanely big like the iPhone 6 or Androids. I had this for a year and a bit until I unfortunately lost it somewhere at school and have never found it since. I finally managed to save up more money and buy a gold (coloured, not literal) iPhone 5S 32gb, with an awesome Batman case :') it's called the Batphone now. It took getting used to since it was slightly larger than the 4S but I got the hang of it. And that's the current phone I have today ^^

So you are yet to go to the dark side and try an Android? I think everyone should try android at least once, they are way better in many ways with loads more customisation options.

I had tried android, I had the petty ones whilst I was waiting for my iPhone 4S.. Y'know those cheapo ones which aren't half as good those Galaxy's and stuff? My friends got an android too but I just prefer an iPhone

Blackberry is out. I've been having trouble with email, started asking around and heard that they aren't supporting it like they used to. I get service call enquiries sent out via text and email simultaneously and the email ones often arrive 10-30 minutes later and sometimes hours later. When you're in the "first service guy to call often gets the business" type of industry, that's devastating. Of course I can use another email address but that lack of support distresses me enough to make me not want to support them anymore.

I'm looking at going to Samsung Galaxy and wavering between signing a new contract to get the S5 Active for about $100 or buying an older S4 for $2-300 and having it unlocked and just swapping my sim card over. Advantage to that is I don't have to sign a 3 year contract. Am I giving up much by getting an S4 vs. an S5 or even S6. I used it mostly for work, texting, email, camera and a handful of apps like GolfLogix and some news feeds. I don't use it for watching videos or playing games.
