What Phone Do You Have?

What I got is an iPhone 5s that's somehow not broken after the amount of falls it has gone through. It does the job for what it's worth.

Same here. Got the 32GB version, and its all I ever need. Can't tell how many times it fell and hasn't had a single big scratch on it. Amazed at the durability (considering I have a slim see-through casing, and the reputation for flimsy iPhones)

Sony Xperia SP.

I'm due to update to a Z3+ at some point.

I still have the SP. Ever since Sony gave it an update filled with bugs, the phone has been awful. It hangs, freezes and sometimes even reboots without me doing anything. It's also capable of losing 25% of battery without me doing anything, force closing apps, overheating, and running out of battery with 15% of battery left.

Thankfully, my parents have agreed to get me an iPhone 6s in the near future, so I don't have to use this any longer.

It's a shame really, this phone was capable of so much and Sony decided to abandon it.

Still got my Note 4 after 18 months, but thinking about selling it and go for the S7 Edge.

Just about the same screen size, and with the water resistance and SD card support, it'll be a nice change of scenery.

Only real question is if I should continue with the white color or go for one of the other colors.

Got rid of the S4 (it was having some really weird problems) and bought a BLU Life One X. I like it so far for the price.
I'll just say this. BLU can make good products, but any of their phones with 1GB RAM aren't worth a dime. I made that mistake with the Life 8 XL. Beautiful phone but horrible performance. I'm interested in how much of a difference 1GB makes in an Android phone, and for only $30 more.

Yeah, I've read that BLU can be hit and miss, it all depends on the phone. I'm downloading NFS No Limits at the moment to see how different it is compared to the S4.

Well, @Lameonade, I've had the phone for 24 hours now and I would say that extra GB can make a difference. This phone has had no problems multitasking, switching between apps, or playing games. Let's take NFS No Limits for example. I have not encountered any frame drops (even with other apps open) during my hour or so of play time. The only noticeable difference graphics-wise between this and the S4 is the jaggies; the BLU definitely has more aliasing but it's 100% playable. For me personally, it's not a big deal since I rarely use my phone to play games in the first place.

Transitioning from app to app is not a problem with the BLU. I've switched from NFS to Chrome to YouTube all without any refreshes. (NFS has to reload for about 5 seconds, but it also did that on the S4 so I don't think that's counts as a total refresh.) I've experienced zero sluggish response times so far and hopefully it stays like that. So yeah, the amount of RAM can really make or break an Android phone. (I think another point the Life One X has is it's nearly stock Android Lollipop so less RAM is being used up by the OS.)

Is the BLU Life One X worth the $150? Hell yes.

@SecretAgentZero, expensive is always relative. I got it for 800 € (about US$900) straight from Samsung. Will register it and get a 'free' Gear VR shipped to me, as well.

That is expensive by my standards, considering my hours at work are variable as can be. Only had this phone because of a 40 and 45 hour week back to back last summer.

@SecretAgentZero, absolutely nothing. The fingerprint sensor works 100% - on top of that, it's very (!) fast. The camera is amazing in every possible way, the build quality is unmatched and the battery life... Well, take a look:

7 hours of screen-on-time - all while performing excellently! And there's still 50% battery charge left. ;)
I'm assuming you've got the Exynos version. Will be interesting to see which version has better battery life.

Isn't it possible to root it and load a different OS on it? Or go back to the previous version of the official firmware?

In my experience, the 4.3 update that the SP received made it faster and smoother than the 4.1 update that it shipped with, but multitasking performance was crippled. Installing a different ROM made it better, but multitasking was still pretty bad.

The OxygenOS 3.0 finally came out last week and I flashed it today. I'm finally on Marshmallow.

My Samsung S2 is not charging properly it won't charge more than 10% and then it dies. So I have bought a new battery not going to get it until Wednesday. I have tried other phone charges but it makes no difference.

(The women I like who gave me the Samsung S2 has never changed the battery)

@NP I'm thinking about getting a S7 but read that the speakers are terrible? Tempted as I found out you can get a keyboard case but might wait it out for BlackBerry Rome as I quite like capacitive keyboards.

I wonder if there will be a S7 Mini released.

If that picture was taken on your current phone I'd suggest it's time to go shopping. :sly:

Samsung Galaxy S5.

@NP How's the 5X? I'm interested in it now that prices are starting to drop, but I'm worried about how future-proof it is seeing as it 'only' has 2GB's of RAM.

I switched from a Motorola Moto G 8GB to a iPhone 6S Plus 128GB this christmas. You could say that the difference in performance was noticeable.
