What should be the GT5 theme tune?

I don't know about exactly nothing, but I really think that in video games in general, there should be a departure from repackaging pop music tracks.

Music should be composed for the game, or shouldn't be there at all.
I certainly don't need to spend my free time listening to somebody else's freaking mixtape.

I dumped burnout paradise pretty quickly for using other people's rotten music, and not really letting me turn enough of it off. I certainly don't want that to happen to a game like GT5. Something as sharp as the ps3 should be able to randomly generate an intro from my previous drives set to my own soundtrack.

"Highway Star" By: Deep Purple.



Its about three of the most important things in life, your car, your head, your girl 👍. Its an absolutely sublime song. You should look for the lyrics, they are just amazing! :sly:. Music from the driving gods!:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Sorry, dude, Red Barchetta is the best driving song ever. I don't care what Top Gear's poll results said. Red Barchetta tells a awesome tale of a grim motoring future that Obama and his cronies would surely love to make reality.
 
driftking18594, you have hit the nail on the head for the best, ultimate introduction song in my opinion. :D Don't worry about the Tiesto remix, go for the original.

I dare ANYONE to find a better intro than the first minute of this song. This is trance brilliance and would be a brilliant compliment to the GT Series. 👍

My other two options would be these:
#1 Choice: Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger (2008 Mix from Alive album). :cool:


I believe the intro here with the "Around The World" compliments GT for becoming a truly global game!! 👍 And always telling you to go faster and harder!! :D

My #2 choice is a bit of a classic tune. The only downside I can see is that it would ramp people up to such a state that online driving may become more hazardous to people on PSN. :mischievous: The forever awesome song.....Epic by Faith No More.

 
damez, I listened to that for 20 seconds tops and it was awful to listen to.....if that was in GT5, my copy of GT5 would be somewhere between my house and the ocean. :mischievous:

Bring back Feeder - Just A Day :D

For the sole guitar riff at the start have the camera set facing just before the first corner of Suzuka, then just as the drums and bass kick in have a group of cars fly past the camera and go through the corner with the tails hanging out. Then it goes into the usual videos of action packed racing!

Plus it's a classic track from the GT series!

The BBC F1 theme tune for the F1 races is The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. It was that before they lost the contract to ITV and they're using it again now they have the contract back. I don't know where you got Roger Barsotti from.

Years ago Wide World of Sports (the Australian version) ran footage of the F1 cars cornering in slow-motion (complete with glowing discs) set to Art Of Noise's "Moments in Love" ... Had to be one of the most memorable clips I've ever seen.

They had a real talent for pairing music and video back in those days (early 90's) and their world soccer cup footage to INXS's Kick was equally awe-inspiring.

but updated guitar and elctro mix would be a win.




My other suggestion would be

the EPIC ones!

Maybe they need to be remixed by PD. PD has some of the best mixes in their games!

What makes you think i said so because of TG poll? In fact, the winner of such poll was "Don't Stop Me Now" By Queen. I said "Highway Star" because its a song i adore and fits into my personal philosphy, maybe I didnt said Red Barchetta because i didnt knew it existed, but im sure it should be great enough (in fact, im downloading it now, i think i'll like it:sly:) for you to go against somebodies opinion that way :indiff:.

I reckon if the Corvette ZR1 made it into the opening, this song would fit it perfectly.
 
Good old "Moon over Castle". Don´t u think of that, if you hear this song, it must be Gran Turismo... so why change the Theme Song? It´s so epic, powerful, classic - junst like GT...everybody knows GT and it´s theme. In other words: Never change a winnig Team.
