Hello,

I really enjoy SHift 2, problem is I am nearing the end of my career and just wonder what to do afterwards.

I have never attempted online racing. I've heard so much horror stories of the proper ettiquite and I'm not sure that I would know how to do it right.

I have purchased the DLC legends, but not the speedhunters. Waiting to see if that would be a freebee for the PS3 as it was with the PC.

I don't know, I guess my only thought would be to do endless quick races....

Too bad, that it seems like there won't be any new content or "seasonals" to keep things fresh....

Autolog times and why not do a league for online. Thqt way you are sure to be with clean drivers.

Hello,

....

You mentioned career mode but nothing about Autolog - do you have any friends for AutoLog competition? This can really keep you busy!

Personally I like to do endurance races in the quick mode.
Set it for 15-20 or however many laps you like, pick your favorite car and track and go for it!
It's requires totally different driving.
You have more time to get into the lead, and you can't go as fast as possible, you must pace yourself to be able to keep a lead while still conserving tires!
I like it a lot!

Tire wear???
I wasn't aware tire wear was a factor in the game.... Hmmm.... Sounds pretty interesting...Are pit stops with fuel/tire changes available?

As for the autolog, I never went online with Shift 2. And I "heard" and/or read post saying that there might be an issue when adding friends to your lists....that some of the freezes and other bugs occur more frequently. I hardly ever get a freeze and when I do, it usually occurs after I restart a race. Never (knock on wood) had a high speed freeze. Is there any truth to that rumor or is that total BS?

I have only had a couple of freezes. Autolog is great, unfortunately I have Texastyme on my autolog and he is hard to beat. Feel free to add me I am not that fast if you are on PS3.

PSN : sfrench67

@sfrench
Your not the only one with Texan problems among others :D
I struggle to stay within top 5 :ouch:

Anyway, Autolog WILL keep anyone busy... to much for their own good :banghead:

There is no pitstops, tire-changes or refuelling and that's why you need to be conservative 👍

Also cbrown, depending on your speed, you should really join the online leagues Zeeco organizes (combo and porsche) those are brilliant fun with some really cool people from here. No ramming morons allowed! And we need some more european racers to show the US of A their limits...

I ll add you later on, and you as well, frenchie! :D

Would love to join the leagues myself I quite often read the posts, but I am in the wrong part of the world unfortunately. There does not seem to be much action amongst the Aussies on Shift.

If you are not using AutoLog you are missing one of the best features of S2U! Racing against real world racers just not simultaneously. You can send me a FR if you want.

EDIT: You may find yourself replaying much of the career to see how you stack up against others in the different classes.

Yup, Autolog is brilliant. Theres a thread on here with a bunch of users' id's.

@cbrown You must've played the crap out of career mode. S2U has to be the biggest racing game as far as racing events go and also track selection.👍

Go to Quick Race, then go to Hazyview Eight, then do a time eliminator race with 15 AI drivers.

--> cbrown119 For start, you can visit WTC-3 Thread and challenge any Round you like. 👍 Or unofficial R13 :)

Online races are way much better then racing on Hard Difficulty, try. Racing etiquette was created to stop any Horror stories from happen in the future. Off course sometimes you cant avoid some situations but playing online with trusted friends is always better then selling game after Platinum trophy appears on your psn profile

I raced online quite a bit last year on Shift1, and on Shift2 earlier in the year, but I just got tired of the 'demolition derby' style of so many players, AND their foul language and personal messages, giving you bad rep even though the fault was clearly theirs, etc etc.

I'm on 83% Career now, and just drift events left to do...which I'm hopeless at.

@graham: Racing online with random people is like that, unfortunately. But actually I think it got better with the game aging - some of the ramming morons seem to have moved on to other games and only the ones really liking the game stay to play it online. Also there are not so much newbies around anymore, most of the guys you see online now are level 20.

Racing with friends is still the better option, though. If you re on PS3, feel free to send me a friend request. :)

Edit: Use the pad for drifting. Its almost impossible with a wheel.

Thanks for the invite.

Maybe I'll give online a go again, after what you've said. :)

I'm on Xbox with MS wireless wheel. To be honest I can't really use a gamepad properly because I'm an older generation person who just can't steer with his thumb. lol!

I'll still try to master the drifting though, even with the wheel. Should be a challenge. I won't cheat by getting my teenage (expert) son to do it for me.

So tempting. :D

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I never knew the game had such depth. I am starting to create a friend list (slowly) and when I begin to work a normal schedule again, I'll try online, WTC, and the autolog.

I REALLY appreciate the feedback and the way the community here responds with encouragement and makes someone feel welcome.:) It's very refreshing.

I hope to see you online!
