What will be the first kind of track coming to GT Sport in 2020?

What if PD did lead with an original circuit? Maybe Apricot Hill. I don't know about Deep Forest, Grand Valley, etc. Apricot Hill seems simple enough to replicate, without changing much. As part of a January update, would be unexpected, but a good addition.

As I've noted somewhere before, Kyoto = rearranged Apricot Hill = rearranged Suzuka. Especially the Suzuka link is hard to unsee, a double apex tightening first corner, followed by rolling esses, a left hand sweeper and a hairpin, and finally a chicane leading to the start/finish straight. Kyoto also has most of the same ingredients, just in a different order.

Having said that, I'd still be very happy to see Apricot Hill making a return. It's a shorter and thus more accessible Suzuka which is always a good thing.

I think that Monaco is very possible, we already have in the game a F1 car that hase a race on this track and base on the information that formula-e will probably arive in gtsport which is also racing on a shorter version of this track, it is very possible that monaco will hit the game.

I'm still waiting for the track that i like the most namely Enna Pergusa but this one will probably never hit this game.

I think PD mentioned at the FIA finals that they were going to release a brand new fictional track but held it back and released Laguna Seca instead because everyone wanted that track.

So a brand new fictional circuit may arrive this month or in February.

Seems silly to waste resources on a new fictional track when a remastered 'original' would garner a lot more interest.

I've more or less lost faith in us seeing the classic original tracks before GT Sport's shelf life expires (whenever that may be). My feeling is that those tracks will be held back for the next iteration. And that's been the sentiment of a lot of people in recent months. So, as far as original content goes, we may continue to get brand new circuits in this installment. It's still strange to me that the only returning original in this game is SSRX, but perhaps that track was the most "ready" to make the jump to PS4. SSRX also serves a practical function (testing top speeds) not unlike the old Test Course, which we didn't really have prior to that update last year.

I think real world tracks, whether brand new to the GT series or returning (along with rain variants of existing ones), will be more common in the next few updates.

So, what are you getting at with this?
I was just curious to see what ideas people had for what could be coming next. This update seems like a bit of a wildcard cause they just added two popular tracks to end 2019. Although it's also possible that we don't get any tracks this month (which would be a bummer but I can live with it).

I was actually responding to a post with a Pikes Peak Photo, which seems to have been removed.

I think through the year, Motegi and Silverstone will come back to GT. For new world circuits, i think the future tracks will be essentially F1-like tracks, like Sepang or Hungaroring. For Original circuits... who knows ? I don't think original GT circuits will coming to GTS, it's more a GT7 affair.
Both very good bets. PD loves their Japanese tracks, Motegi is probably the most popular one not in the game. And Silverstone is probably going to be the #1 real world track that people want next.

I also wouldn't mind a real world track that hasn't been in the game previously. But my worry is we're too close to GT7 to get anything like that.

I don't think many of the original circuits would translate well to online racing. Maybe Apricot Hill, but the rest don't seem to have much of a run-off area. I think what would be better, would be a spiritual successor to a given original course. Heck, maybe it could even use the same name, but use a different layout while still being in the same general locale. We should note that there were like, two real-world courses in Gran Turismo 3 (Laguna Seca and Monaco), where a lot of original courses were. Contrast that with Gran Turismo 4, which, instead of having a lot of original courses, largely introduced city courses (based on actual roads in those cities) and more real circuits. There were a ton of real circuits that debuted in GT4 - Le Mans, Nurburgring, Suzuka, Fuji, Motegi, Sonoma, and others.

I think for the most part, it's the nostalgia talking when people want these older courses. They could still be fun for a time attack, but I don't see them being good for racing. As far as I'm aware, they were designed at a time when you could only have six cars on the course at a time - to have over two or three times as many cars could turn things into an un-fun, chaotic mess.

It's not always nostalgia, though. In fact, I think only part of it is nostalgia driven. I race the original courses in GT5 and GT6 and I still enjoy them. And there are a lot of players that continue to play the old titles to this day. What we want is to experience them in the current gen while sharing that experience with other players online.

Yeah, but I can't help but to think that some of them could be improved via spiritual successors. Sort of like how we went from the Special Stage courses to Tokyo Expressway.

Would choose Deep Forest as my wish they would original track, or Motegi as a wish they would real track, there would be some brilliant races in sports mode at both of these, but I live in hope, anything new is a bonus I suppose

I agree that most of the old originals wouldn't translate well. I think Grand Valley, maybe Midfield would still work with Apricot though as mentioned.

What makes you think they wouldn't revise them with today's car count in mind if they brought them back? When they bought back High Speed Ring in GT4 and then 5, that got some major revisions yet still kept the same layout. Same for both Mid-Field Raceway and Apricot Hill in GT6 (Both of which would just need the same attention as Special Stage Route X purely for visual improvement). Fairly sure PD are aware yesterday's 6 car count accommodated layouts need a major overhaul for today's 16-20 car count.

Would love to see Daytona Road Course & Oval. Add a DPI, GTE/GT3 and a NASCAR (licensed or generic). That would be the ultimate January update.

I’m not a NASCAR viewer but appreciate the cars. They would be a great addition for the community. Both racers & painters. In the same vein add the latest 911 Cup car.

These are on my list of expected tracks:

Daytona International Speedway
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Twin Ring Motegi
Silverstone Circuit
Goodwood Hillclimb

As for tracks that never been featured in a GT game, I could see them do Paul Ricard, Circuit of the Americas, Hockenheimring, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Sebring, Road America, Mid-Ohio, etc.
