Sadly it's not possible to choose your first car, you must buy the Honda Fit :'(

I'm not entirely sure about this yet. The famitsu tutorial run through on the GTPlanet front page says "Famitsu goes on to describe “Step 2,” which is the buying of your first car, where they recommend the 2010 Honda Fit RS for its “gentle behavior” to learn proper technique"

Maybe importantly, it says "where they recommend" the Honda Fit (it's called the Honda Jazz over here, so I wonder if the local version will get these named change). Hopefully that means they will throw the Honda Fit in your face and say "you should probably have this car" but still give you a choice.

I for one would definitely go for a Suzuki Swift Sport, because that is a delightful little car :P

I had to stop and think about it as I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it used to be, in GT-1 my first car was a Toyota Supra Turbo, late 1980's iirc, GT-2 was a Mitsubishi 3000 VR4 Turbo, GT-3:A-Spec was the Mazda MX-5 1.8 RS,GT-4 was the MX-5 again and GT-5 I started with a used Focus so I really won't know what GT-6 will be until I see whats up for sale at that time. I do appreciate the Miata's race abilities as they make great trackday cars IRL so It'll probably be a Miata again. As far as the max-credit car the first will probably be the Daytona Cobra Coupe or one of the new vintage classics.

1st car: The car I always started out with in the GT series: A Mazda MX-5 Miata '89
2nd car: Corvette C7 Stingray

This guy is recording every minute of his GT6 experience so far. He's up to 40 clear 1080p videos now.

6:50 into his first vid, linked above, he is given 30,000 credits to choose, what looks like to me, any car he can afford. After being recommended to buy a 346pp Fit for 17K, he does.

The first set of races are restricted to 430pp or less. Second set to 450pp. Third set to 450pp. Forth set to 500pp. Fifth set to 550pp. The only other restrictions are tires, up till the Fifth set at least.

Go fast parts are very expensive. The 425pp Ford Focus at 24,500 credits looks like a better plan.

Edit: After watching that vid a few more times, I think I am wrong. Looks like you are forced to buy the Fit.

the first car in gt1 and gt2 if i'm right is the Mitsubishi eclipse
but really i dont remember the first car in gt3 and gt4..
in gt6 except the honda fit..first i will buy the opel tigra 1.6
and when i make money i will buy an opel tigra in every color!!! :)
the first track i wanna drive with it(tigra) is the Green Hell!
because i know the very every "cm"(in gt5 not in real life) from green hell and i wanna see the new physics!!

I'm doing my GT winning formula: Starting out with an AE86, making it awesome(hell with all the mods I'll have 5 different 8-6's for different racing :P) and buying a poo-load of cars.

Max credits I'm going with either the Ferrari FXX, or the Minnolta Toyota 88CV, whatever the hell the name of that group C le mans car is XD

Yeah, well... I guess there's a Honda Fit in my not-too-distant future!

First car of my own choice will be, most likely, the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.

Max credits? Dunno just yet, probably the Vision GT Aston!

Depends on what's available, as far as the first one. It'll probably be a Japanese car as I'm a huge fan of those, so maybe an AE86, which I'm sure will grow in number rapidly from 1 to 65 or so. :P As for the second one, it'll most likely be the Red Bull X2014 because I freaking LOVE doing Red Bull races in Arcade Mode and I'm super-hyped to see what the X2014 and variants will drive like. :D

The fit is good for first two tiers of races without mods.(although I had to be quite aggressive defending the win at grand valley)
