Just got a Ps2 and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I'm not into Final Fantasy type games that have machines and guns..i want something more D&D like..with swords & magic...

Get LOTR - The Third Age. I´m currently playing this one and I´m loving it! It´s really surprising that EA made a good RPG game.

I also have Baldur´s Gate II, which is an action based RPG, but I didn´t like it as much as Third Age. And of course there´s always the classic Gauntlet, a great game to play with friends.

Champions of Norrath..the best of its type and its online...and its got a sequel comming even greater. a cant miss game.

Oh yeah I was reading about the second one at IGN yesterday. It´s on my list too.

All the ones above are excellent choices. You can also get Gauntlet:Dark Legacy and have way over 80 hours or so into it. If you can find a friend to play with its even more fun. Im sure you can find it on e-bay for less than $9.00 now. If you can get up to 4 friends this game is a blast.

I think all the games mentioned are actually Fantasy based Medieval games... I wonder why nobody made a true medieval game... Anyways... I enjoyed (and still enjoy) Norrath... However I do wish the view wasn't top down... I need a behind cam instead of over the top cam in those games...
Anyways Norrath 2 will probably ship on Feb 7th(North America) so you might as well wait the few weeks... (I think my copy of GT4 will have to wait cause of this game!!)

The Lord of the Rings two towers is alot of fun. Great swordplay action.

I've played "Thief" for x-box and its great but i'm not sure if its out for ps2 or not.
It has all the elements that you are looking for.

Blade of Severance is also worth looking at. I think you can pick it up for about £5 now.

Thanks. Whenever i go into gaming sections of stores, it's overwhelming the number of PS2 games there are...and i bet many of them suck. My favorite PS1 game was Crusaders of Might & Magic...and it kinda sucks, too. The graphics and weapons are awesome, but the storyline is very linear & not random enough. It's like: “Go here, do this...now go there and do that”. You can't get lost in the game is what i'm trying to say.

I know this is totally nerdy, but why doesn't D&D make an electronic game? I guess maybe cuz they don't want people to stop buying all their books and stuff.

There is a D&D game, actually I think there´s more than just one, but I only know one for sure. My friend has it, but it´s for XBox. It came out last year.
