This goes for most racing games honestly. But the one thing that's missing from these games are flex. What I mean is every game I've played so far the car is just a box. It doesn't contort or flex or anything when appropriate. Even though the flex may not be obviously visual I think it's a thing where when it's missing it's noticeable and doesn't lend the realistic look when racing. Especially when attacking curbs hard. Aero parts also should be shaking around and what not but in all game they are perfectly still.
 
Shift 2 had it as well. F1 2011 has it too.

I never played Shift2, would have been nice to see. F1 2010 I can't remember having it or not but 11 having it is cool.

See I think it's one of those subliminal things that when it's missing the brain knows something is wrong but can't put it's finger on it. When it's there it adds an element like "Wow that looks real" even though one may not know exactly what it is that's making it look a bit more real.
